This is our second Grand Design Solitude. Our experience with Grand Design customer service after the sale has been fantastic. This is not the dealers unfortunately but we all know the dealer service departments leave a lot to be desired. Every RV has issues, in my book it is how the manufacture handles those issues. Grand Design has been top A++ We are getting ready to order our third Grand Design Solitude all due to the fantastic service we have received. I really like the floor plan of this unit. However on our first trip after purchasing the unit in June 2019 the furnace went out on our way to Arizona. After arriving in Arizona, I spent numerous hours on the phone with Grand Design trying to get the furnace repaired. We were in Phoenix and experiencing the coldest December with record lows. I was told by Grand Design that we would have to take the unit to Mesa, Arizona for repairs. Grand Design said they would not pay for a mobile repair. I ended up calling LaMesa RV who is certified to repair the furnace and they sent out their mobile unit. LaMesa service department said they would deal with Grand Design and repaired our furnace as night temperatures were in the low 30’s. We received better customer service from an RV dealer who does not sell Grand Design then we did from Grand Design. Now we have a problem with the rollers on our number one slide and have to continuously stay in contact with our local Blue Dog dealer to get the repairs done. The dealer has to send pictures to Grand Design to have the repairs approved. The approval process for warranty work at Grand Design is an extremely slow process. I spent over two weeks calling daily to get the furnace repairs approved so I can only imagine how long this is going to take to get the approval to repair the rollers on our number one slide. We have been RVing for 30 years, this is our first and last Grand Design RV. It’s going up for sale in the Spring. I would not recommend Grand Design based on their poor customer service when needing repairs while the unit is stills under warranty warranty. Show less

Just way too many problems with Grand Design RV Solitude 390RK-R 5th wheel to list. From nails popping through the linoleum on the floor to leaking roof. Grand Design knowing the kitchen slide outs never had rollers installed to properly carry to carry the weight still denied us twice to reimburse us to fix their mistakes. The local Grand Design dealer required full payment and told us to contact the company even with an assigned control number. Grand Design says our five slide-outs are not structural and are not covered by the three year structural warranty. I think Grand Design just denies all warranty claims. Having had to deal with how Grand Design treats their customers when the RV has a problem clearly makes our Worst mistake in our life was buying a Grand Design. They do not stand behind the product they sell. They find excuses not to do the right thing and pay to fix the problem. Be sure to warn your family and friends to look elsewhere if they are even remotely thinking of buying a RV. Their competition has built a RV that's shorter but has another 1,000 to 1,700 lbs of carrying cargo. A much better configuration. Shame on management to sit in elkhart Indiana and just not care. I love the 2800BH but after 7 months owning it we have powder post beetles. Our pest company said they were in the RV when we purchase the RV. But grand design will not cover the damage that they are doing. will not purchase another Grand Design RV. Show less

This is a rock solid RV. We have traveled 4000 miles this year with this coach and have encountered only minor warrenty problems. The problems that we have had were addressed by Grand Design quickly and fairly. I will highly recommend Grand Design RV. Show less

This RV is a dream. Excellent quality - pre-Winnebago buyout of Grand Design. No unexpected repairs were required. Upgrades on the AC and the Refrigerator to keep it better than new. 2015 Grand Design Momentum M-Class 350M. Show less

I bought my Grand Design 27MAV RV excited to camp in all sorts of weather. But one shocking flaw has soured the experience – the factory-installed Solera 3000 Lippert awning. The first time it rained, water pooled on the fabric because the design doesn’t allow it to run off. Within minutes, the weight bowed the arms and destroyed the awning. When I asked for help, Grand Design told me the awning “wasn’t meant for rain” == only as a sunshade. Imagine that: a camping RV that can’t handle rain on its awning! If you’re considering Grand Design, know this upfront: you’ll either need to avoid using the awning in rain (completely impractical), or pay out-of-pocket for a sturdier replacement. Show less

Probably one of the best built travel trailers I have ever owned. The build design along with the spacious floor plan makes this a number one choice of travel trailers. In our 40+ years of camping experience, the Grand Design and Winnebago always stood out as top choices when looking for a new RV. Grand Design sure did everything right. Show less

I love this RV and there is nothing I would change about it. I have owned other brands, and Grand Design is by far the best. Grand Design Customer service is always top-notch and you couldn't ask for more than that. They really respect and value the customer after the purchase experience. Show less
