I bought this camper from a friend who bought it new. My wife has decided that she doesn't like camping. Sadly, I have to sell it. I am going to miss it. It is completely self-contained and ready to go. I have slept in it comfortably at 20 degrees. It holds enough battery and propane to run the furnace all night in these conditions with plenty of propane left over and the battery only half gone. It is fully functional and ready to go with dishes, pots and pans, bedding, etc. It does require a full 8ft. truck bed. It requires a 3/4 ton or better pickup. We used the window in front to connect with the back window in the pickup. We have a crew cab pickup, so our three dogs could come and go through the window, making it possible for them to sleep in the cab of the truck. Big advantages, no registration in my state, no tires to wear out. Goes anywhere the truck will go. Fully functional on the road. Access to bathroom, kitchen, etc without any slideouts to get in the way. You will have lots of fun in this camper. Show less

We purchased the Lance product new in August 2022. Less than 24 months ago. We were sold on the "Lance difference, and better quality". Being our third rv, we went ahead, even though they are more money. MISTAKE. We have had nothing short of issue after issue, some catastrophic, some minor. But they started immediately. The quality and workmanship simply isnt there. Won't bore you with the problems, however they are trip ending issues. As for support from Lance brand, we'll thats still to be determined. Show less

We love our Lance. We find that the quality is excellent and floor plan for a smaller trailer, with the slide out, is well proportioned and roomy. The appliances, stereo and TV are manufactured by different companies, and not Lance, which are found in most trailers. We were told by the salesman we bought one of the last trailers built by the original Lance company who has since sold. Show less

We truly enjoy our Lance 1172. It is spacious enough for a family of 4 with 2 boys 8 and 15 but also the perfect size to fit in to smaller camp sites and make extra tight turns. The kitchen is just the right size. I bake cookies, make pancakes and casseroles. This truck camper offers tons of storage space from front to back, inside and out. It's extremely versatile and perfect for my families needs! Show less

This is our 3rd year with our truck camper. It has taken us all over the country including Alaska! The only issue for us, is sitting in the camper. The dinette is not super comfortable but we purchased a Quickset by Clam and that has solved the problem. Show less

Poor design. Multiple poorly conceived mechanical systems. Heating system cannot keep bedroom warm. Poor placement of vents. Cannot change seat on toilet without removing the toilet. The awning is useless as the pitch is so flat that rain does not run off. Instead the awning collects water and the awning will slump almost to the ground with accumulated water. Simplest repair requires a trip to the repair shop because of inaccessibility of mechanical systems. Disappointing. Show less

Lance 975 I believe this holds true for all campers that have automatic features and are boondocking. The automatic features do not work unless you are plugged in because every one of them will drain your battery. Especially problematic is the automatic battery disconnect. You're much better off with a generator and a charger if the truck batteries go dead. Automatic disconnect engages at 12.8v. In the summertime it is fine. However, in the winter when there is no sun it never reconnects. So if you get up in the morning and drive, the camper batteries never charge because the automatic reconnect will not engage until the 12.8v threshold is reached. This has caused me so many problems trying to figure out why I could not keep a charge in my camper batteries, during low sun. Also the radio stays on all the time so you have to unplug it from the back of the radio because the wiring is connected into other things. The refrigerator automatic will make sure that your battery is run down to 0v if there's no sun even when you're driving. So when all the automatics are disconnected it's fine. I wish there was some way to bypass that automatic disconnect. All of the automatic features are a pain in the winter. It's best to never use any automatic feature. Show less

We bought a 2017 Lance 1575 a year ago based on dealer's recommendation that it is a superior product. We had weight constraints because we would be pulling it with a Toyota Tacoma or Subaru Ascent. It tows like a dream, and has caught the eye of people indicating they'd like to purchase a trailer that can be towed with a mid-size SUV. No issue for us. We've had it out about 40 days in 2023 with only one issue. The 'on demand' water heater only works intermittently resulting in intermittent hot and cold water when taking a shower, not fun. No help from Lance. Spoke with other Lance owners who indicated they gave up and purchased a traditional water heater, which we plan to do as well. The shower has a relatively low ceiling, too short for my 6'2" husband, but except for that, we're very pleased with the layout. Feels high end for a small travel trailer. Fortunately, no major issues thus far requiring support. Show less

Well thought out design with quality components residential hardware, best ever quiet gas/electric furnace/water heater, full 80" Queen bed and very comfortable seating. However very poor build quality and manufacturer support. For instance the sofa was only secured at one end in the slide, a stub wall fell over because the screws had been broken off when screwed into the metal door frame, the movable tables were poorly attached so they tilted and wobbled so had to be remounted, the seal strip joining the two halves of the trailer just fell off, weather strip around the windows comes off in hot weather, dishes fall off of the top shelf because the shelf doesn't reach the cupboard door, the $600 tank cover blew away because the latches are poorly designed. The "European windows" will slam closed in a gust of wind because the arms don't lock. The factory won't sell parts directly, only through dealers. Show less

Years ago I was able to order parts from Lance directly, over the phone. Now 2023, I must rely on interfacing with them through a local RV Dealer. I need some parts that are trailer specific and according to my local dealer, Lance is non-responsive. I am very disappointed with my effort to get these parts going on three months now. What is happening to Lance. I thought they were reputable. Show less
