I purchased this 2022 Ibex 19qbs 23ft camper in,last August and I really love the floor plan. It pulls really smoothly and I even camped out in really cold weather in Southern Minnesota (-15) and was warm enough. I really like the slideout as it gives you 4ft of width in the middle of the camper. The real queen bed was immediately replaced,as it was so uncomfortable but being 60x80 was easy to replace. It is really quiet inside as the insulation is real good plus it has azdel so it won't rot under the fiberglass skin. The large fridge and air conditioner are real nice features plus the glass shower doors are nice.
Now to the negatives. The quality of construction is pretty solid however parts are put together pretty sloppy. After owning the camper for less than two months two different areas of the front fiberglass skin cracked for no reason. Forest river didn't want to pay for repair, however after talking to them personally a number of times they have agreed to replace the front piece. The only problem is that was like 3 months ago! The dealer hasn't been able to get Forest River to answer their e-mails to start the repair process. The customer service at Ibex is terrible. I also have a water heater which no longer works and rust already on the frame which I will have to fix myself. Also the couch which folds down is tilting toward the floor not level so I will probably fix it myself. Lastly they only put one strut under the bed to hold it up when accessing understorage. With the fit and finish issues make sure to purchase from a good dealer like Bish RV who will stand behind the product.

I purchased the Forest River Ibex because I needed a toy hauler. Liked the style of the trailer and it pulls very well. The problem is it has a poor define on the slide. The kitchen is on the slide witch is ok, but everything you slide the kitchen out, the sink comes apart from the drain and water leaks on the floor. It don't mater how tight you make it it still comes apart.
The side door in the back will not open. It seems to be locked and the bolt won't slide.
The ramp door doesn't open well and the patio will not fold.
Water pours out of the fresh water fill when the shower is on. Water just pours out and the cp ground ask us to leave because water was pouring out the fill hole. The bed is not level it ramps down. I owned campers and travel trailers in the past and this is the worst built I have seen.
General RV in Dover Fl. Tells me that the manufacturer says it will fix any more warrantee work.
I will not buy a unit made by Forest Rive again or buy from General RV because they are afraid of bucking the manufacturer.
Is there anyone at Forest River or General RV that will help. 2hen you buy a big ticket item you would think you could get it serviced and uphold the warrentee.

I purchased the 2022 Ibex Qbs 23ft travel trailer last August in 2021. I love the floor plan and have used it many times since I got it. It pulls easy as it has rubber semi independent suspension. I love the slide out and the walk around real 60x80 bed. I did replace the rock hard bed it came with.
Now the disappointing part of the camper is the very poor quality of workmanship. I had the front fiberglass Crack after only 2months and I never took it off road. Since the fiberglass cap cracked 7 months has past and forest river has only recently agreed to replace the front cap however I don't know how much longer it will take to get the sheet sent out my dealer. Bish Rv has been most helpful in trying to get it fixed. I also have a warped door which has to be replaced and an power inverter which won't turn off. The waterheater had to be fixed plus the couch in the slideout tilts. I also had to caulk spots on the roof before the roof might leak, it has not leaked because I fixed it right away.
Like I said I love the layout it's just the quality of the workmanship was really sloppy. Unless you are prepared to be patient you should buy a different brand. My dealership which is Bish Rv in Urbana, IA treated me so
fairly and nicely it doesn't make all the issues quite so bad.

A great Forest River trailer with fantastic features and no surprises. My wife and I did extensive research and considered many other brands when we upgraded from a 20’ RPOD, eventually settling on the Ibex 20BHS for trips with just the two of us plus occasional friends and family. Major selling points for us were the expansive suite of features included as the standard dealer package, rugged ground clearance, off-the-grid capability, and flexible sleeping space. The trailer feels ritzy and luxurious compared to the RPOD yet rugged enough for some serious boondocking. And at 25’, you can fit the 20BHS into almost any campsite.
Towing – being one of the smallest two axle trailers available gives a huge ~3000 lb carrying capacity and some flexibility for towing vehicles. I am towing with a 4.6L Tundra. The trailer towed great on this 1500-mile trip through the Appalachians, though gas mileage left something to be desired (hovered around 8mpg). Was a little tough on the steepest grades, slowing as low as 50mph. The trailer is very tall and not aerodynamic, all tradeoffs I’m willing to make for all the headroom inside. Keeping the fresh tank empty and minimizing cargo weight would presumably have helped a lot with my lowish-end tow vehicle. We haven’t taken this thing off paved roads yet but compared to the old RPOD, this suspension and ground clearance is beastly! Looks like the most rugged trailer at our KOA right now and I look forward to more adventurous trips. The trailer is prewired for a Furion rear camera and this is a huge asset on the highway and when backing, not to mention an easy 10-minute setup if you are willing to pay the premium for the camera.
Sleeping space – super comfortable and flexible with the bunks and convertible dinette. I’m 6’3” and sleeping space was a major sticking point for me. I love the residential queen and could even fit in the top bunk with my feet hanging out a bit. Overall it’s comfortable for 3-4 adults (we had my parents stay for a short time) – would be cramped with more, but you could certainly do it. Especially if you spent most of your time outside. The converted dinette is only 72in long as opposed to the 74in bunks and 80in queen. The 15k AC is bigger than some of the 30 ft trailers I’ve been camping near, and as a bonus the fan negates quite a bit of noise between the bunks and queen bed. We’ve been running it in 90 heat and humidity without a hiccup while seeing some of the other folks’ units freeze up. I read remarks that suggest a curtain or divider between the queen sleeping space and the rest of the trailer – this doesn’t seem practical and I’m glad this isn’t an included feature, though I’m sure you could install something like this if you disagree.
Kitchen – small, but the space is well utilized. Check it out on the floorplan and realize you sacrifice here a bit to get all the space elsewhere. We find the kitchen space to be sufficient, and love to cook outside when we can. The sink and faucet are awesome. The glass fold-over stove top provides very functional countertop space. The lack of drawers sucks but is understandable given the layout. If you are a boondocking fan, make sure you check to see if your fridge will run on propane. This is unit dependent and some will have an electric-only model. You can easily tell by looking at the trailer exterior because a propane fridge will have a big black access panel on the right side by the black range hood vent, and an electric-only model will have none at all.
Bathroom – huge improvement over a wet bath! The space feels well used. At 6’3” I can stand up in the shower without issues and have plenty of leg room on the toilet. The bathroom sink feels a little small though, and the faucet is so short that it’s tough to get your hands under the running water.
Storage – some pros and cons here. Outside storage is as small as our old 20’ trailer and the access doors feel undersized. We can’t fit our modestly-sized folding table in any of the doors. There is ample storage inside but the kitchen lacks any drawers. Our camper came with cabinet doors to access the dinette storage (love this, may be unit dependent), and we modified it so we could also access it from below the seat cushions. Love the storage under and around the queen bed, and when it’s just my wife and I we use the bunk beds for extra functional storage as well.
Misc – There seems to be a QA problem with solar wiring - make sure you check this out at the solar controller during the walkthrough. Our dealer didn’t realize that the inverter power switch has to be off for the interior control panel to function, otherwise it will always be on. Would not recommend paying $500 for the optional grill, but it's convenient nonetheless. Double-check that the JBL speaker is present, as those apparently go missing all the time at dealerships.
We are very happy with the Ibex 20BHS and would definitely recommend it to friends!

We recently purchased an Ibex as our first family travel trailer and, so far, we are very pleased with the unit. The layout is great for our family - we have two young kids. The bunks are perfect. The width and the headroom make the bunks feel like their own little usable space. We looked at multiple units that had the skinnier bunks, and I am very grateful that we did not opt for that floor plan. Additionally, the windows in each bunk make them feel more open and far less restrictive. I am just a bit claustrophobic and I don't think I could sleep in a skinny bunk with lower headspace and no window.
I am 6'4", which eliminates at least 75% of all travel trailers in this class as a majority of them have the 74" "RV Queen." I refuse to spend the kind of money that these units cost for a squished sleeping experience or for my feet to hang off the bed. The full size queen Murphy bed is great for us and allows for additional seating space when in the up position. Because of the shape of the front of the unit, the bed can fold completely vertical, which means that it doesn't limit headroom while sitting on the sofa. The mattress if pretty firm, which doesn't bother me, but my wife is not a huge fan. We will likely add a pillow top cover and possibly replace the entire mattress.
The model with the slide out, the 20BHS, was only about $1000 more, however we opted to go with the no-slide option for a few reasons. First, with all of the research that I did, it just seems like all travel trailers at this price point are earthquakes on wheels. I did not want to add a large, expensive mechanism that would have a propensity for failure. We also plan to use the unit off the beaten path a bit, and it just seems likely that the slide out could give way while rattling down a dirt road. Second, the unit has enough space for all of us to fit comfortably. Yes, more space is always good, however the 20MBS is 6 inches wider even with the slide closed and more than 12 inches taller. A smaller unit is appealing to us for towing and versatility purposes.
The dining area is definitely tight. We can make it work, but we have a few plans for how to make it work a bit better for our family as our kids get bigger. First, the table doesn't sit flush to the wall, which is just kind of weird. The wheel well sits a bit higher to allow for more wheel travel, one of the trade offs of the "off-road" features, so the table could not convert to a bed if it extended all the way to the wall. My wife, who owns a woodworking business, is planning to build another tabletop that we will use to fit all four of us. We also plan to get two small, light, folding stools so that the kids can sit toward the corners of the table, rather than squeezing into the smaller seats. That said, this last trip the size was a little cramped, but it still worked OK for us.
The features are great. We used the outdoor skillet and table. The sink is nice and deep. Ours did come with a different faucet than the standard 19MBH - my guess is that Forest River just ran out of the one that they usually use, but it works fine. We camped in 30 degrees our first night and the heater kept us toasty. It also hardly used any propane at all. I did consider upgrading to a two-tank system, but hauling the second tank in our tow vehicle works just fine for us. The solar panel and inverter work great. We haven't tested the 1000W limit yet, but it will run our coffee pot just fine.
This is really not an "off-road" unit, even though it's advertised as such. It does have some nice dry camping features, and I am sure that it will be better than dragging any old unit down a fire road, but its also NOT an Opus or similar brand with true off-road construction. Truthfully, though, I had to ask myself how often I would use the off-road features and whether or not it was worth the $40K starting price of the legit off-road brands - it just isn't for us. The Ibex sure does look cool with the mud tires, though.
There were a few issues with the unit when we purchased it:
1. The spring for the Murphy bed latch was broken -the latch still works, but it doesn't hold the pin in place. A replacement is on order through the dealer.
2. Two of the tires had uneven wear, likely from being dragged while the breaks were locked during delivery. The dealer paid to replace them.
3. The refrigerator, which is an automatic unit that should run off of LP when not plugged in to power and off of 110v when hooked up to 30 amp, would not run off of 110v. Figured out that the plug was tucked up in the compartment and just needed to be pulled out and plugged in to the 110 outlet in the refrigerator access. Works great now.
Overall, we are happy with the purchase. I will be sure to update the review as we use the unit more. I found the reviews here to be very helpful in making our choice and I wanted to return the favor for other future buyers.
