This was the worst purchase I ever made. Everything that can go wrong has almost gone wrong. Its barely over a year old so we will see. This was the worst purchase I ever made. Everything that can go wrong has almost gone wrong. Its barely over a year old so we will see. Fireplace replaced, going on our 3rd fridge, 3rd water heater, 2nd rear stabilizer, 2nd front stabilizer, 5 different water leaks (summer), cab door not closing, AC leaking, hub fell off. There is more but whats the point. Kodiak Dutchmen is garbage. Stay away from this company. Its the cheapest thing imaginable. I am pretty sure the workers that built this hate human beings and want to see us harmed, its that treacherous. Fortunately we purchased the extended warranty 3rd party North Star who have been great and it paid for itself entirely 1 month after the 12 months manufacturer warranty expired. We have the full warranty until 2031. I dont know how the warranty company can stay in business covering Kodiak as every time we even look outside the window at this garbage made Kodiak Dutchmen something breaks. I just looked at it and I think the gas tanks fell off now. Gotta go.

There was a space just under one inche.Whick allowed water to get in And delaminate the cap. I wrote dutchmen a e mail Thier reply. It’s out of warranty. I know it’s out of warranty. I wrote to show them the bad workmen ship. And to let a trailer Leave in that condition. They make junk Don’t buy keystone or Dutchmen trailers Don’t throw your hard earned money away

Bought this in Aug. 2017, slide out cables were wired wrong (per dealer) Dealer said they had a another trailer they would put us in . When they checked it, it also was wired wrong (so much for quality). Dealer contacted Dutchmen and was told that Dutchmen would contact me and settle the matter. Dutchmen did not contact me until after Thanksgiving (even though I called them weekly) and then I was told this model has been discontinued and they offered to put me in a bigger unit. Sounds good but I cannot fit a bigger unit into my driveway, so I suggested a smaller unit made by Kodiak (same manufacturer different make) . Because it was smaller and cost less I asked for the difference refunded to me. They said no and 1st offer was the only offer. No compensation for time without the trailer (it’s now January) and no offer to reimburse me for 5 months of payments I have made without the trailer. This is my first time to buy a trailer and I have learned to believe the negative reviews. SO DONT BUY A DUTCHMEN OR ANY OF THEIR OTHER BRANDS.

When my Dutchmen Kodiak 248BHSL trailer was manufactured the person installing the spare tire to the bumper over tightened it which slightly crushed the bumper. Enough that I can't use the bumper to store my sewer hose. I went back and forth with Keystone to have it covered under warranty. Their response was "it's built as designed". These trailers are cheaply made and I fixed several things myseft instead of dealing with warranty. I would recommend avoiding any Keystone products.

Bought brand new 2021 Dutchmen Kodiak Cub 196 BH in early June. Took on a 2 night trip that weekend. Everything ran fine that we used. Our first RV experience so we we took baby steps. Didn’t use the commode. Only the sinks and shower. Our front USB charger was inoperable, noticed the outside rubber trim began peeling from window. Also found a hole in seam between shower tub and shower wall. And significantly, cannot remove the spare tire. The lug nuts were bolted down into the lug wells so closely that you cannot even get a thin walled socket on them. All this was tolerable but then we had first significant rainfall. Went inside trailer and discovered water dripping from ceiling LED light onto front queen bed; soaking it. Threw a tarp over it and took it back to dealer next morning. They said would look into it but they are backed up. 3 days later I call and they haven’t even had chance to inspect it. Insane! There is also some trim falling away from door but I can fix. Wouldn’t even be upset about these few fixable things but the leaking roof, on a brand new unit? Unacceptable. Guess I’m gonna start that long painful raid of dealing with the factory and the dealership. Really lousy for first few weeks of very expensive hobby experiment.

Had a pop up since 2005. I grew up in a pop up. We looked and looked and lo and behold tis popped up, metaphorically. I was skeptical of Aspen Trail as their quality was really noticably bad a few years ago. Not so much last year. And our Dealer D & D RV in Helena MT, was great. Good price, very decent price and they tiurned the axle very inexpensively (200 bucks) making a too low RV perfect for MT. This unit is perfect for empty nesters with large dogs or a new family with kids. Unique to this is an enclosed rear bunk with the bottom at 40 inches wide. That is adult territory. And, you dont have to take the Real 4 person dinette down to sleep. It is a basic bathroom but with separate shower an Hlme Depot sells easily installible medicine cabinets. The seemed to have cheapened them 4 2019 with no cabinets above the queen bed and removing the wall above the second bunk, so look for lightly used. Yes, it is single axle with a low carrying capacity, but a great unit. Thor/Dutchmen sell the same unit under the Coleman Lantern name as like 17fq and a really nice Kodiak version for more bucks, more capacity and a fiberglass exterior. Others have the same floor plan with the difference being width. The bigger bunk and dinette are worth it particularly since these will cost the same or less. Good value.
