This is our 4th Newmar (Bay Star, Canyon Star, Ventana) and now another Ventana. Canyon Star (gas) at 40 feet just didn’t have enough power for our needs. Had a few minor problems but all fixed on the rigs but we have talked to lots of folks over the last 15 years on the road and every brand has their share of problems. There is not a brand out there without issues. Some are production problems, some like a/c units are model problems and some are definitely owner caused problems. We have not had problems with getting it serviced but we did have a service writer that did not listen to us (twice,)but you will find that anywhere. Yes, next one will probably be a Newmar unless Winnebago management ruins the company. Yes, we have friends that swear by their Winnebago Horizons and others that swear at them!

It has been eight months since we sold our 2020 Dutch star. Still admire how awesome they look as we see them on the road. Our motor home was loaded. Had electric heated floors , an oasis hot water system, and fully automated awnings all the way around. We flat towed a Jeep. However, selling it was a huge relief. We are finished with RV ing after 10 years, especially with Newmar. Every time we went out, we had issues to deal with. Many were ongoing. The service we received from our dealer and Newmar was very slow. Fast service from dealers away from home was nonexistent. We were left stranded or experienced weeks of waiting several times.
This was our third motorhome. We bought a Newmar because we expected fewer problems and better service. We received neither. When a person buys a high priced item, naturally expectations are also higher. Newmar and our dealer failed us. Finally we had enough. In the middle of a three month trip to Canada, we made the decision to sell. Peace has come to us at last.

I purchased the RV from Lazy Days RV in Tampa Fl. Flew there and drove the unit off the lot to VA. Drive like a dream without any problems. Doesn’t do bad in fuel consumption either, about 10 to 11 mpg. Every system in the couch performed flawlessly. I don’t really have a dislike of the unit, but rather like all aspects. Easy to use, set up, and operate. Plenty of basement storage for goodies! I have camped all my life and owned everything from a pop-up to a class A pusher, and the Newmar Dutch Star 4095 is by far the best unit I have ever owned.

We will never buy Newmar again since we don't love service lounges.
We full timed for 4 years in a 2016 Dutch Star. The first year we spent 2 months in service while living in it. By the end of the fourth year we spent almost 5 months in service because of over 120 repair items. Even though they offer tech support during limited hours during the week, good luck getting someone to call after hours, the service techs frequently gave bad advice and struggled to timely get us into service facilities under warranty. They became useless after warranty expired. Extended warranty by Cornerstone was a joke on us, always denied a claim, never should have bought it.
Big stuff like: side radiator gear box went out twice, AC unit failed, needed a new one, 2 slides leaked (lack of sealant inside the slide from production) causing severe damage to cabinets, steering gearbox failed, full wall slide sagged requiring additional support and replacement of broken tiles, Oasis system 2 pumps failed, 3 full wall hydraulic pumps had to be replaced (slide cheeped out while driving, then new pump leaked after they replace wrong pump), furniture replaced because the fake leather cracked, 5 television sets mostly for unknown reasons, refrigerator failed, televator replaced, door step electric cover broke, door latch broke twice, Oasis fluid leaks, power steering fluid leaks, 2 leaks to the Freightliner air system (requiring them to cut out the diesel tank to get at the air reservoir), Winegard over the air and satellite antennas both replaced, 3 outside decorative trim pieces just fell off from lack of adequate silicone, silicone caulking around entire outside separated from the paint, diamond shield on front bubbled and separated (no we don't allow power washers to be used on the coach).
But it was the small stuff from lack of quality at Newmar production and components that just accumulated that were the most annoying; like toilet electric switch failed, tiles cracked, inside trim separated from walls, wall paper came off, power reel replaced, cable to TV failed, bay door actuator failed, loose fuse box connection, dry climates the wood shrinks exposing unstained wood, wood stain wore off around door knobs, numerous drawer latches had to be replaced. As most RVers know, its the phone calls, troubleshooting, rerouting, scheduling, and fighting about what was warranty and how long it takes to fix something is the biggest headache.
We did our part making sure we followed all the service requirements and self maintenance of the coach.
For a Class A costing over $420,000 MSRP, this was our mistake for buying it, believing we were getting "Newmar quality" for the price. Selling it was one of the happiest days of our lives.
If RV manufacturers profit/cost cutting measure is to increase production but to fix problems post production, then they should be offering 2-3 year full warranties for time to fix all the production and component failures. It was impossible to schedule enough service appointments in the first year to fix all the issues we encountered. Many Newmar service centers required at least 3-4 months to schedule and mobile repair can only do so much.
The only positive regarding repairs was the Newmar service in Nappanee, Indiana. Have to schedule months in advance, but at least they have the parts and knowledge to repair quickly unlike most RV dealer service centers.

The Newmar Bay Star 3626 Coach floor plan was the key factor in our choice to purchase one used. This is our second RV, we had a Class C MH prior, sold it, and decided to upgrade to a Class A MH about a year later. The 3626 features 4 slides, 2 in the Master Bedroom and 2 in the Living / Kitchen area. The MBR features a Serta Posturepedic Hybrid full size King mattress, Samsung LED TV, Blu-Ray DVD Player and tons of storage.
Next to the MBR is a closet with connections for a future stacked washer/dryer unit. Across from the closet is the bathroom featuring a full size shower with skylight and automatic fantastic roof fan. The bathroom also has ample storage cabinets and both LED ceiling and vanity lighting.
Immediately behind the Co Pilot seat is the main entry door to the coach which leads up to a large living room and kitchen / dining area. There are two recliners opposite the fold out sofa couch queen size bed. Behind the sofa is the Televator containing a Samsung 43" LED TV with Bose Sound Bar on top. All TV's in the coach (3) are remotely connected to the HDMI distribution system above the driver in the Entertainment Electronics Cabinet. DVD Player located above driver is connected to LR and Exterior TVs. A second HDMI distribution hub is installed for a satellite receiver. Also in the cabinet is the WiFiRanger Spruce Router and power supply and provides a dedicated WiFi network for the everything in the coach.
The Dinette area will seat 4 adults comfortably, and also will collapse down to form a bed for kids. Overall the rig can sleep 4 adults and 2 kids.
The Kitchen is opposite the Dinette and features a double wide AC / LP French door refrigerator with Ice Maker, 3 burner LP Gas Cook-top, Combination Microwave / Convection oven above the cook-top. Double stainless sinks and solid surface counters round out the kitchen.
We have put ~8000 miles on this coach since purchasing it in May of 2022. Although we are not the original purchasers, we contacted Newmar for support and they have been fantastic to work with, they truly stand behind their products! This is a solid, well built coach, and everything works as designed.
Outside there is a 21' canopy that can be extended either manually or using the included wireless remote control. Additionally the awning has a wind sensor that an retract the awning automatically in high winds (although we only deploy the awning if we are using it). Under he canopy is the outdoor TV Cabinet which allows the display of OTA, DVD, or Satellite programs. Note all 3 TV's in the coach are connected by WiFi and are Smart TV's.
We give high scores (5s) rating this RV with our only 3 on Driving / Towing. Towing is limited to 5000 pounds, depending on loading this may be reduced based on actual weight. That being said, we towed our Jeep Wrangler Sahara all over the place with no problems whatsoever.
To improve drive ability during high winds, or being passed by a semi, we replaced the Front OEM Anti Sway Bar with a HD one from Roadmaster. We also added a Roadmaster Auxiliary HD Anti Sway Bar to the rear of the coach. Further, we replaced all the shocks with KONI for a much improved and enjoyable drive. Lastly, but significant to point out, we've installed the 5 Star Custom Tune on the engine which yielded vastly improved power and shifting points in the Ford F53 V10 26K Chassis.
All the house batteries (6) have been replaced with AGM Deep Cycle batteries and provide 570 AH capacity and no maintenance. Four are located in a tray compartment on the driver side and two are located up in the engine compartment.
If you are in the market for a Class A coach on a budget, you will not be disappointed in this unit.
