Picked up my new truck camper on October 22, 2019. November 20, 2019 we had torrential rains here in Los Angeles and my camper sprung 3 LARGE leaks...by large they were all three leaking like a very small faucet. I IMMEDIATELY drove to my dealer and he and his crew spent 4 hours fixing the problems. I was told I wouldn't have problems. 45 days later I was in Pismo Beach and torrential rains hit yet again. One of the old leaks that was "fixed" leaked again and I mean like a small faucet had been turned on and a new leak over my bed. Two days later I dumped the truck camper on the dealers lot and I said 'gimme all 35,000 dollars back'. He gave me a song and dance. I then drove to the CEO of Lance Camper in Lancaster, California. I explained my problem and I had a check for 35,000 in two weeks. MY HUGE LEAKS were #1. bathroom vent #2. vent over the kitchennette #3. vent over the bed. NEVER AGAIN LANCE!

What I like about it, Has always been a faithful truck and Camper. The truck is a Chevy 3500 Dooley, 4 X 4, with extended deluxe cab, with leather seats. Recent service, new tires, batteries, shocks. Truck has 7.5 V-8. New cost of truck and camper was over $41,000 !! The camper is a Lance Squire 9000 model, this was the top of the line model, that has lots of extras on it !! Reason I'm selling is due to a passing of my wife !! Unit was only used about 5 times. The truck has a towing package on it. We towed a Jeep behind it, with no problems towing it. Even average 15 MPG. I sold the Jeep. Would like to see this unit, goes to someone, who would really enjoy it!!

We bought the 2020 Lance 850 after much studying and reading reviews for RV truck campers. We had a travel trailer we were happy with for 3 years, but wanted something with a smaller footprint. A truck camper seemed just right.
There is nowhere in our area which sells truck campers, so we drove 3 1/2 hours to the nearest dealer. The Lance expert there seemed quite knowledgeable and was helpful. We made the purchase and drove the 3 1/2 hours back home. Our first trip was planned for that week - to Vancouver, WA. I made food in advance, as the refrigerator in this model is not small, and we turned on the refrigerator the night before our journey, as we had always done in our previous camper. Unfortunately, the refrigerator never reached a temperature lower than 50 degrees, which will not keep food from spoiling. A call to the dealership was not helpful. We left anyway and made our trip. Since then, we have added 3 fans ourselves and now are comfortable with the cooling. About 6 months ago, we noticed water on the floor - we had not used the camper in a few months. We discovered it was coming from moisture around the fans and skylights in the ceiling. We called the dealership and ended up having to take it for repair - requiring two 7 hour round trip journeys. So far, the leaks seem to be repaired; however, they could not get the rust removed from the ceiling around each window.
We have also had to repair: the faucet in the kitchen (we replaced it as it was leaking underneath the sink); the shade on the back door fell off and we have rigged it back on; the brackets on the awning have fallen off and one is still missing; the hot water tank sprang a leak and we have to replace it. We never had any problems with our Forest River trailer and thought we were trading "up" to Lance. We cannot, however, recommend this camper

We have owned our Lance since new. Using a truck camper has the versatility to tow or remove and have a standard vehicle to service rather than an expensive RV. This unit has superior quality and design. The slide includes the fridge and dinette leaving the entire size of the trucks bed as floor space. The forward restroom is also a great space saver. As with all standard RV the roof is the issue. A new one was required and the skylight was closed to keep less opening for future leaks. Otherwise no problems. This is the best unit we have seen to date and compared to others there's no comparison.

I believe this holds true for all campers that have automatic features and are boondocking. The automatic features do not work unless you are plugged in because every one of them will drain your battery. Especially problematic is the automatic battery disconnect. You're much better off with a generator and a charger if the truck batteries go dead. Automatic disconnect engages at 12.8v. In the summertime it is fine. However, in the winter when there is no sun it never reconnects. So if you get up in the morning and drive, the camper batteries never charge because the automatic reconnect will not engage until the 12.8v threshold is reached. This has caused me so many problems trying to figure out why I could not keep a charge in my camper batteries, during low sun. Also the radio stays on all the time so you have to unplug it from the back of the radio because the wiring is connected into other things. The refrigerator automatic will make sure that your battery is run down to 0v if there's no sun even when you're driving. So when all the automatics are disconnected it's fine. I wish there was some way to bypass that automatic disconnect. All of the automatic features are a pain in the winter. It's best to never use any automatic feature.

I bought my 2015 955 truck camper spring of 2017.First problem was basically all door and cabinet slides hinges latches Ect. had to be replaced or repaired to small of screws holding them in place or just not quality for the application. Then the slide out problems started showing up. The Seal on the bottom rolled up into a ball under the pull out slides and jammed the slide half in half out. The remote for the jacks and slide is the worst remote I have ever seen to change the batterie (is a not always available) you must take 4 vary small screws out after two times the screws are striped and will not remove. Now after just 4 years of use ( 6-8 times per year on weekends) the frame around the slide out is cracked. This causes the slide out to drop 4 to 6 inches and jams in the out position. So far I have tried to contact Lance with no return phone call or e-mail. Estimated cost of repair from local repair shop 2 - 5 grand
