My Montana High Country has heating/cooling issues.I have owned this Rv since new and recently has become my only residence. This RV is advertised as being artic packaged, but in reality it isn't. Keystone placed tank heaters on the water, sewage tanks, but did not add additional insulation in this rv. Therefore if you are going to use it in the cold months you are going to freeze!
This RV is 41ft long and has 5 slide outs, which has alot of open space to heat/cool! Keystone only placed one furnace and it's in the front part of rv,therefore by the time heat tries to reach rear den it's cold. The same holds true for air conditioning. 2 acs one on each end and nothing in the middle. The livingroom is like a sauna in the summer! Too much heat for them to cool this rv with the amount of open space.

Purchased 2022 Keystone Montana High Country 376FL from a local dealer in March of 2022 unit was winterized still. First campint trip over Memorial Day weekend we noticed that there was a propane leakage coming from under the slider. Reported immediately to dealership, scheduled appointment to fix it. Our RV stood there for two weeks without being touched. Picked it up, did temporary fix, called warranty wanted them to mail us same hose that was broken (fridge line), their warranty representative asked for photos of broken hose, sent it. Only a month later received an email from warranty department that in order for them to fix the hose, they need an original back first. We tossed it long time ago, now getting run around and its an August now.

We loved the floorplan of the 378RD and though we were getting Keystone's Premium Camper. This Montana High Country 378RD is our third fifth wheel camper and it has been a nightmare from the start. May 2018 first trip out water heater not working, busted shower hose, molding in bathroom coming loose, backsplash behind stove coming loose, wall panel behind theater seats loose, used 30 lbs. LP in one weekend. Had LP leak repaired. Every time we used it something else went wrong. self leveling system quit on third trip. top frame of three slides the wood trim came off. May of 2020 pull out of shed to clean and use. found something pushing up through the rubber roof on curb side of roof in 6 places about a 20 foot long area. All four slide roofs bubbling up in the center. top LED accent light gone, came out of the glue and blew away. Contacted Keystone and had to fight with them about the roof issues. the agreed to patch the side roofs and put drip pans under the slide motors to stop the grease from dripping on the roofs. sloppy way to repair, Keystone denied any help on main roof. their warranty expert advised customer damage to roof and even the dealer that filed the claim advised them the metal protection plate was not installed on top of the wall to keep the nails from coming up through the rubber roof. they still denied. I have never seen a manufacturer screw a customer the way Keystone did. Will never by another Keystone RV. This is Keystone's Premium RV, what a joke.

I have a 2019 Montana High Country HM373RD. Purchased August 28 2019. This is my 3rd Fifth Wheel and my second Montana. My 2009 Montana was a pretty well built and I had few issues with it. I cannot believe the difference between 2009 and 2019.
If I go a week or two with nothing falling apart I feel pretty fortunate. Unfortunately this is a rare occurrence. If I were keystone I would be ashamed to put out an inferior product like this and as I understand it a lot of their builders are Amish. So much for Amish craftsmanship.
The first year of ownership this fifth wheel was in the shop or broke down waiting to go in the shop for more than 6 months.
Listed below is all the things that had to be repaired.
Items marked * I considered major and items marked ** were turned in but never repaired. Some items I just fixed myself.
*The black tank would not dump. The sanitary drains were going up instead of down. The dealer had to shorten and replace the drain piping.
*The refrigerator door does not work. You have to push it really hard every time you close it or it will give a warning beep that the door is not closed and the thermometer will give a false reading that the inside temp is warm.
*The water line was not attached causing the basement to flood and the floor in the basement is bubbling from the water damage.
**Personal items in the basement were damaged or destroyed due to flooding.
-The trim and paneling next to the steps to the living room has came loose and appears to not be attached properly
-The latch to the bedroom door was not aligned properly so the door will not stay closed.
-The entrance door appears to be out of alignment as the handle is hard to pull and the screen door rubs on the threshold. This is much worse when the stabilizers are up.
-There is a line of staples sticking up from one end to the other in the carpet in the dining area. I located more than 50 of them.
**There are staples sticking out of the paneling behind the mattress at the head of the bed. Reported twice but never fixed.
-The board holding the hydraulic cylinders to the bed storage fell off the second time I raised the bed storage. Fixed myself
-The plastic trim piece at the skylight shade appears to have been damaged when they put the screws in. Too many holes.
*A crack has appeared in the siding on the door side at the curve that forms the fifth wheel. Required body work.
**The awning appears not to be aligned properly. When retracted it chatters and seems to be putting a strain on the motor. When retracted it is badly wrinkled as if it is wrapped crooked. I have had to use a ladder and realign this twice now.
-The tile backsplash is pitted
-Rear Basement-wire supports have failed and need to be replaced
-Paneling next to living room stairs-Paneling keeps coming loose even after being repaired
-Dining room slide and table-the slide is out of level-the table is more out of level-the refrigerator is even more out of level
-Front basement-A wire is trapped between the carpeted divider and an aluminum stud. Eventually movement is going to wear the insulation from the wire. Could cause a fire.
-Light on the front of the trailer next to battery door does not work.
*Fiberglass laminate on the outside of the dining room slide has two large bubbles in it. Appears to be de-laminating.
-Bedroom-The paneling on the right side of the bed is coming off.
**Oven thermostat-The thermostat is not constant-Set on 375 one time and its 375 next time its 325 and at 350 it will not even heat. Is sometimes more than 50 degrees off setting.
**Awning-after rolling the awning in and out several times it is so out of align it twists the support arms almost 180 degrees when rolled up.
**Leveling system-If the RV is more than 1-1 1/2in. out of level the leveling system does not have enough power to push the trailer up to level.
-Exterior trim, door side at the curve of the fifth wheel has come out of the track.
*Two more bubbles have appeared in the side wall. Keystone has said this is cosmetic and will pay for it. Sent me a check for $1500 to just accept it.
-Entry lock had to be replaced
-Trim was falling off behind the couch
-The screws holding the theater seating were barely attached and came came out causing the seating to detach and tip over during transport. Fixed myself
The Trim above the dining slide came loose and was sticking out. Repaired myself.
*And now the bed room slide has a really terrible leak. Fixed myself
*Denotes items I consider to be major flaws
*December 31 2020. Due to the strain on the awning motor listed above the motor has now failed and I cannot Retract the awning. Trying to contact Keystone as this was turned in for warranty and never fixed.
Keystone sent me a check for $500 for all my down time.

We purchased the 2019 Montana High Country 331RL the end of November 2018 and picked it up December 31st from Camper’s RV in Shreveport, La while waiting for our new 40’ RV carport to be installed at our home. We took the RV, Thursday, January 3rd 2019 for our first camping trip to Lake Claiborne State Park less than 25 miles from our home. There were 4 other campers beside us in the park. It was cold but we wanted to test the heating unit ASAP. The first night went well, the second night around 9:00p.m. while watching t.v. and relaxing in the two comfortable recliners, we heard what sounded like a bullet hit the RV. We jumped up and my husband took a flashlight and went outside to look around to see if he could see anything. He even climb the ladder and looked on top of the RV and could not see anything. The next morning, Saturday, our son came up to join us for breakfast. When I opened the door for him, he commented that he had not noticed the upper window over the dining area looking like that when we had purchased it. Not knowing what he was talking about, I raised the curtain completely and discovered a shattered window. It had not broken and fallen out, just shattered. We realized that is what we had heard. My Husband and Son made a trip into Homer to pick up blue masking tape to tape the area in hopes it would hold till we could get home and unload our things then take it into Camper’s RV for repair. While they were gone, I called Camper’s RV and told them what had happened. They said they had never heard of this happening before, almost making me feel as if we were responsible in some way. They informed me this was also not covered under our warranty. I, of course, became very upset and told them we will be discussing this further when we could get the RV over to them to look at. I told them this was completely unacceptable.
We returned home Monday, due to having paid for our lot at Lake Claiborne till then. By the time we got to our home, driving very careful and slowly, the window had completely blown out and when we opened the door to the RV glass was everywhere. We spent three hours picking up glass and vacuuming with a shop vac. We unloaded most of our things and early Tuesday morning we headed to Camper’s RV. After arguing with the service department when told the warranty would not cover this and in addition they would have to keep it at least 8 weeks, we explained again we would not accept this and wanted to speak with the manufacturer, Keystone. A representative called me on the phone when we returned home. I told him the complete story and explained the reason we had went with this Montana, we had been assured it was top of the line. We own a 2004 Dutchman Classic Bumper Pulled which we never have had trouble with, very disappointed with new one. We wanted one that was larger, more features, and easy to level. We came to an understanding, no charge to repair, the window was fixed within two weeks and RV was back at home ready for our next trip which was scheduled March 5-10 which is less than 60 miles from home. Before leaving on that trip, my Husband had trouble getting the slides to to extend, the battery was not holding a charge. He put the battery on a charger overnight and it still would not hold a charge. He connected a brand new battery, we were able to get the slides to come out for us to load our supplies. In the meantime, he contacted Camper’s RV, explained the problem and was advised to bring the battery into them so they could test it for 48 hours. They did and told us the battery was ok. Now the new battery my Husband had replaced the original one with was also losing the charge. To get us through the trip that we had already paid for, we took both batteries along with a battery charger in case we had trouble. We made it through the trip with only two other small problems, a window screen had come loose, after 30 minutes we were able to get it back in place, and a leak under the kitchen sink, my husband tighten the loose pipes...fixed the problems. Our next trip (3rd), which I had booked in January for May 21st also began with same problem, battery not holding charge. We contacted Camper’s RV and made appointment to bring it in June 5th and was told plan on leaving it 2-3 weeks. We have told them we also have a booked trip with deposit that has also been paid for July 2-5. In addition to battery problem, before we left on the Memorial week trip we could not get the back jacks to retract so we could connect the truck to the RV. Once again, my husband called Camper’s RV and after speaking with the Service Manager was connected with a technician. The technician said it had lost it’s calibration on the auto -level system. He instructed him to drop the back jacks using a drill on Manuel Shaft. We should not be having to do any of this. We are ready to see our attorney to see what can be done!
