The open range 3x427bhs is a quality built Rv. The large appliances and living area make you feel like home.the added features you get such as the windows and shades are great. This model is very easy to tow and very easy to set up with the automatic leveling system .the quail it's is great and the customer service and warranty department are excellent as well . I would recommend this highland ridge open range Rv to anyone looking for a great 5th wheel. This is livery without the big price tag.

Inside is so quite. Those 3 inch walls makes a huge difference. We RV yr round and mostly on the Oregon coast. It's gets very chilly at night outside, but you stay nice and toasty inside. We have owned several 5th wheels over the past 17 yrs, and this one is a gem.
It's not been trouble free, but Highland Ridge has taken care of our issues. NOT THE DEALERSHIP Where we bought it. Al's Trailers in Salem Oregon, please stay clear of this dealership. If not for the care of Highland Ridge we would not be writing this.
We would buy this brand, and floor plan over and again. (though I'm not a fan of pinch and rolled outer walls) after one yr of ownership... WE LOVE THIS OPEN RANGE 3X

VERY DISAPPOINTED with our 2016 Open Range 2604RB .. will NEVER EVER purchase another product manufactured by Highland Ridge RV .. purchased in Jun 2016 and have had nothing but problems .. only 1 trip out where we didn't have issues. Dealership has had to replace all of the exterior hatch doors including entry door; bottom of the "supposed" pantry fell through under weight of food; dinette seats detached from the slide out floor; rear of dinette detached from side wall of the trailer; outdoor speakers have been replaced twice; ground screw for the electrical system rusted and caused all of the low voltage electrical to stop working; water tank syphons itself out when you fill it; that's the SHORT LIST just to name a few. Dealership in Cambridge, ON Canada has been awesome, but Highland Ridge refuses to recognize the issues with the manufacture of this trailer, spoke to their Warranty Supervisor twice and they will do nothing. Absolutely NO QUALITY CONTROL .. unit should never have left the factory. Our frame warranty is up in Jun 2018 and are seriously concerned about what will happen after then .. looks like it's time to sell and buy something else. I'm sure this post won't last long but trust me, I will keep reposting to make others aware.

After extensive research and visiting dozens of dealers we Purchased our 2018 272RLS .From the moment we walked in we fell in love. This was one of the first RV’s we had looked and and nothing else measured up. We had one minor warranty issue with the fireplace needing to be replaced . The service department at The dealership took care of it in a timely fashion. The quality and pride that goes into this unit shows everywhere. The level slides with no carpet in the living room area is a big plus when it comes to cleanup as well. If you are looking for a new RV you need to consider Highland Ridge Open Range Brand.
We highly recommend them.

I bought this 216RBS new in Huntsville, AL, at the time, I had researched extensively for a small but spacious trailer, especially the bathroom and shower...Im 6'3" and need some room. The bathroom was huge in this particular trailer and with two opposing slides in the living area it made the trailer seem huge inside too for its size. The quality and construction were ok, better than most I would say. 2017 was the last production year of the 100" wide body trailers, after that, Jayco bought Highland Ridge based on my research and everything got a few inches narrower. There are two gripes I have with this particular trailer, first, while the bed is a true queen, its a tight fit, wish they had added a foot or so to the length and gave me some room at the foot of the bed. The second gripe I've already fixed, the "L-Shaped Lounge" in the living room slide-out was just a really dumb idea, it was incredibly uncomfortable, the bed was useless and it just did not make sense in that small of a trailer. I removed it and replaced it with powered, heated, massage electric reclining theater seating, about $1000, but, well worth it. I also got some nice "barrel style" stools for the center island to use as a bar for eating, a much more usable design now.
Overall, I'm happy with my Open Range Light 216RBS, it was constructed very much like the 5th Wheels of this vintage, I'm kind of sad that this building concept was not continued, some people actually do want a small very high quality travel trailer and they are not built like this anymore. Had Highland Ridge continued building trailers like this, with 5th wheel-like construction one can only imagine where the quality and amenities could have gone. I for one am willing to pay for quality, Im just not willing to pay for Airstream quality, their largest trailer seems small to me in comparison. Listen up RV manufacturers.

We’ve had our Open Range Light 275RLS for a little over a year.
Four stars for livability because it’s livable.
One star for overall quality because it is poorly constructed, from the Schwintek slide that malfunctioned initially to the way doors and interior walls were poorly constructed, to the needlessness of the “theater lighting” on the recliners, to the way too small oven that is difficulty to light. To the touch up that needs to be done to some of the finishes (not very long after purchasing).
Four stars for floor plan because it’s a pretty good floor plan with the exception of the entrance to the bathroom-too close to the outside door, and opposes the bedroom door, so needs to be kept shut all of the time.
Four starts for driving-it pulls pretty good.
One star for Factory Warranty/Support- If I could give no star at all that would be what I would give. It’s great to have a warranty, but if the manufacturer doesn’t back it by helping you find someone other that the original seller to work on it, you might as well not have a warranty. Travel trailers are made for traveling., so it’s reasonable to expect that you might not be staying within the vicinity of where the purchase was made. Very shortly after purchasing ours the Schwintek slide malfunctioned. Tried to deal withe Highland Ridge/Jayco, but they were useless. We had to backtrack 500 miles to return to the dealer that we bought the RV from.

My wife and I bought our Highlander May of 2019
brand new. We have been full timing in it since that
date. We are at a stationary location at the moment
but we also still do our traveling camp trips with
it. We have taken it out at least a dozen times
including a trek to the Oregon coast. So I'd
estimate we have at least 5k miles on it so far.
All of the other reviews for this coach are quite
negative. I have absolutely nothing negative to say
about this coach. In the last year and a half I've
had typical issues such as the heated seats quit
working (Thomas Payne theater seats), not a Highland
Ridge craftsmanship. Our blend valve (LCI component)
for the water heater bypass failed last October in a
freeze, yet again not craftsmanship. Spring of 2020
our furnace (Dometic/Atwood) quit working and being
that it was during our winter thaw I didn't bother
with it till this week. Wait, once again not
craftsmanship. Turns out it was the sail switch.
With that being said about the furnace We had single
digit temperatures the week prior to changing my
sail switch. Yes, it was chilly in the mornings but
with electric heaters in the living room and garage
it wasn't as bad as people would think. But to my
point with no skirting at the time of the single
digit temps and no heater to heat the underbelly, we
still did not freeze within our coach. We do have
heated hoses but that was it at the time. So with
all of that being said, we absolutely love our coach
and have had no craftsmanship issues what-so-ever.
Oh last summer we also had issues with the fans for
our fridge (Norcold) oh guess what another none
craftsmanship issue. People complain about not being
able to get around the bed, that is how almost all
king bed models are designed regardless of who made
the coach. We originally bought a king model because
the queen we looked at sold the same day we came to
put a deposit on it. Ours is now a queen model
though. My biggest complaint is the same as any
other full time coach owner and that is that the
craftsmanship when it comes to the wiring and water
lines behind the pass through (basement) it is an
absolute rats nest. So in reality please people
don't just consider a toy hauler such as Momentum,
Voltage, or Seismic. Yes, I just listed what society
considers to be three of the nicest toy haulers.
Remember who owns Highland Ridge is the same company
that builds Seismic. What you all have to realize
and come to terms with is do you want a $65k or $85k
toy hauler that have the same internals just
different craftsmanship. Remember my Highlander has
the exact same components as the higher dollar value
toy haulers. No, I may not have the fancy above
cabinet accent lighting, the lighted stove knobs, or
tv's included in the garage or bedroom but in
reality we haven't missed any of those superficial
things. I have installed smart tv's throughout our
coach and besides that the Furrion tv that comes
with these coaches is a POS anyways. Yes, GD has
supposedly exceptional customer service at the
factory, but unless you have a serious structural
issue how often are you going to deal with them? I
hope that this review shines some light for some new
comers to the RV market. It is a hard decision with
so many choices. I can be found on social media or
possibly contact through here for additional
questions. Also regarding another review I just
remembered about stickers cracking and peeling ours
has been in the Utah heat and we have no sticker
issues. In closing neither me nor my wife are in any
way shape or form associated with Highland Ridge or
any of its subsidiary's, such as Open Range, Jayco,
or Thor by any means. We are just a family that want
to enjoy life and travel at the start of 2021!

We have been winter Rv camping in our Highland Ridge Open Range Lite (thermal cold weather package) since Nov 2021- Present. We are on a one year camping trip. We purchased the camper in MT and pulled out of the RV dealership parking lot and have been camping ever since.
We so far camped in northern Montana near Glacier NP and now in Zion and Bryce Canyon NP areas in Utah. The temperatures were below -0 to -15 for weeks at a time in Montana to include 5 degrees in UT. The camper has preformed well and we live comfortably (wife, me, son, and dog) in the camper.
Of course you have to prep and there is some work to winter camping. That means owing a insulated electric heat water hose, heat tape wrapped around the ground water faucet with insulation over it and a wrapped tarp at the bottomto boot. Heat tape wrapped on your septic hose with wrapped insulation and then cold weather tape. Owning multiple cold weater extension cords, and heat lamps. A most is putting a light bulb placed near coils on refridgerator at the outside compartment. Our fridge stopped working because it was below 0. We put the bulb in there and it worked agaim. Placing multiple heat lamps and a space heater underneath your camper for underbelly. A 2nd space heater for inside the camper to compensate the propane heater. A must for below 0 camping is insulating the skirting with either cords of firewood or rv skirting with "foam board" on the backside to shield from freeze or high winds. Its work but it helps! I had a sheet of wood for a entry door to crawl underneath to able to release black and gray tanks. I had two heat lamps pointed at the release valves and the space heater on high at the front to blow towards the back under belly. I had three more heat lamps positioned underneath were i thought the black/ gray tanks were located.
We owned four 30 gallon propane tanks. We average one tank every four to six days. Thats why its important to have a electric space heater (good one) to compensate the propane inside the camper.
We used reflextics on all the windows for insulation during below zero weeks.
The propane heater and stove performed awesome and all the other items in the trailer. We maintained a inside temp at 66 to 73 degrees. Both sinks, toliet, and shower, for the water never froze.
We never lost water and remained on city water -connected. We never used the fresh water tank. We kept it empty. I would empty the black and gray when it reached 2/3. We dripped the water at the kitchen sink at night and kept the sink cabinet door open with the space heater pointed towards it to prevent freezing.
Other than that "good times!" Lol
I give the open range high marks for extreme cold weather camping and liviibility!! Sounds like alot of work but if you like camping and having almost 0 crowds at NP's "its the best!"
