We purchased our GD Imagine 2500RL in March of 2017. Shortly after we took a 5500 mile trip thru the western states and Canada. The RV was great and so very comfortable. Since we have had our GD Imagine we have had recalls on certain areas of our RV. Problems repairing the recalls were only at the local dealers. At this time I want to give special thanks to the people at Grand Design. These people are: Paul Laux, Tara Michen, and Mike Rogers. When problems arose the mentioned personnel when contacted would respond within hours and would help solve the problem immediately. Thank you all for beig there when we needed you. THIS IS MY 4TH GRAND DESIGN IMAGINE XLS. SECOND 18RBE. PREVIOUS TRAILERS WERE 2150RB, 18RBE, 17MKE, PRESENT 18RBE. NO RV IS PERFECT. I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WITH AIRSTREAMS THAT HAD ISSUES! PRIOR OWNERSHIP OF THE GRAND DESIGN TRAILER HAS PRESENTED MINOR ISSUES SUCH AS: WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, CIRCUIT BOARD ON WATER HEATER, PROPANE REGULATOR. NOTHING THAT SHUT ME DOWN THAT I COULD NOT REPAIR OR GO TO PLAN B. LITTLE WATER LEAK AT KITCHEN WINDOW, EASY FIX. IN THE MARINES WE LEARN TO ADAPT, IMPROVISE, AND OVERCOME! I HAVE SOLD MY PREVIOUS UNITS TO MY WORKERS AND THEY STILL HAVE THEM! THE TWO BEST PRODUCTS OF GRAND DESIGN ARE THE XLS SERIES AND THE REFLECTION SERIES. BIG TRAILERS=BIG PROBLEMS! I will never buy another Travel Trailer from Grand Design again. I bought a 2018 GRAND DESIGN IMAGINE 2250RK about 1.5 years ago. Had so many problems right from the dealership. Sewer vents were to short and venting sewage gas into the travel trailer, raw sewage spilling all over the floor, electrical breakers kept popping, electrical outlet had no backing, roof has already started coming apart, outside LED's are peeling off, cabinet stain is coming off, nail holes in cabinets, chipped - hook up panel, the list goes on. Grand Design gave me permission to go to social media about this matter, fair enough! They sold me a lemon. Show less

We bought our 2022 Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE in February 2022 and I have been so pleased with it and the layout and design , along with all of its storage space under the bed and the pantry. The only thing I replaced was the mattress . We have not had any problems with our trailer and have been very pleased with the quality and performance of our trailer. Show less

Do not walk, RUN to a different manufacturer to purchase an RV. we've had so many problems with our 2018 Imagine 3170BH its impossible to detail them all here. Our biggest complaints are the water leaks causing mold growth and electrical problems. We've never had electricity in the outdoor kitchen and now have had so many problems with the heating/furnace that it has become become necessary to have a second thermostat just to run the furnace. These Rv's are poorly constructed and are fire hazards due to the electrical issues. Grand Design has never been responsive nor has the dealer. We've given up trying to work with either so absolutely can not recommend buying any of Grand Design models. These RV'S cost a higher premium so buy something less expensive, it will be even more economical in the long run. Show less

I shopped around a lot. Found the Grand design imagine and fell in love with it. Great floor plan. Beautiful interior. I bought it. Perfect. Well it was great until I used it the first time. It had many problems. From the holding tank valve not closing completely and taking off the cap to hook up the sewer. I took a bath with waste water. The slide is so loud you cannot hear each other talk while operating it. There are many problems. HERES my problem. We purchased it on June 16, 2022. Used it one time and have not been able to use it again. Its still in the shop and now its August 2022. And its still going to be a while until its completed. The shop RV COUNTRY in Buckley is where it sits. They are still waiting for approval/authorization to complete the warranty work. Here in Washington state we dont get much of a summer. Its almost over and I have a $60,000 trailer that I cant use. Im very disappointed with the GRAND DESIGN IMAGINE RL 2970 trailer. Please read up on it before buying. Show less

We have experience nothing but problems with our Grand Design Imagine. From leaking, skin delamination, inside of door cracking and molding falling off are just a few of the problems. We purchased the camper in the spring of 2017 and by the fall, the under carriage was so rusted, it was hard to lower the stabilizers. We do live in WNY but the camper was only used from May to September. I fell in love with the layout. I really wanted this camper to work for us but with this many problems in the first 2.5 years. Really disappointed in my 2600 RB Imagine by Grand Design, since day one have had nothing problems, the awning fabric being replaced for second time, half the front cap lights burnt out, on the new light strips several lights turned yellow, now have to be replaced again, my power jack was replaced due to a recall, on the new jack the switch cover plate sheared off while driving down road, toilet had to be replaced because it leaked, my theater seating heat feature no longer works, the leaf springs on my trailer need to be replaced they are all over slung which causes the trailer to bounce around while driving, spoke to Grand Design warranty on a few occasions and were not very helpful poor customer service, their brochure says they are raising the quality bar with their 250+ inspection process, which is misleading to customers. I wish I could post pictures of the defects of my unit on this post, for those interested in buying from Grand Design think again there's better options out there, Grand Design have nice floor plans units look great however they are built with cheap components. I was lucky, I purchased an extended warranty that covers all my repairs since Grand Design won't even cover anything anymore. Last time I buy from them! Show less

This RV is a piece of junk. We bought it brand new. Very poor quality. Furniture is cracking and peeling. We have went through tons of light bulbs because of poor quality lighting. Had to have a new air conditioner installed within one year of purchase. Refrigerator burns through fuses. Bed lift stopped within months of purchase. Cheap TV and does not work through the speaker system throughout the trailer. Here is the best of all. We are on a permanent site and do not travel in it. I cannot imagine the problems we would have if we were on the road. Run away from the Grand Design Reflection. Show less

The salesman really put Grand Design on an upper tier. Our experience was less than stellar. First trip....0 problems and was just fine. Thought we hit a home run with our new Imagine 2500rl. Second trip.....slide motor failed. Pretty much ruined the trip yet having 2 doors, we were able to make it work. Third trip....rear brake failed and caught fire. Rear axle had obviously been replaced prior to us picking the unit up from the dealer. Three trips and 2 major failures on the unit. Will not recommend this pile of junk to anyone. Thank God the unit was destroyed by a nasty hail storm and the insurance company totalled it. Poor components. Poor craftsmanship and an expensive pile of garbage. I'll just rent VRBOs instead and save myself the headaches. Show less
