Sorry to say we purchased a brand new R-Pod 190 from Forest River and never had the chance to really use it. Took it camping for 2 weekends and it went up in flames. Turns out that there were some electrical problems Some wires were installed incorrectly. Forrest River did not stand behind their product. Wish I had read all of the reviews on the forest river Good thing for us we were not camping when it went up in flames

We've had our R-Pod 179 for a little over a year. When we got it home we discovered the right rear taillight wasn't working, which I fixed myself (the wires were not connected properly). After our first trip with it we had 11 warranty issues. We bought out of state, but our local dealer was happy to do the work. Unfortunately, it took two months to get it done, due to parts/approval delays, so we basically missed most of the summer season. Forrest River, after a lot complaining, thankfully reimbursed us for two payments. Also, I had to fix two of the local dealer's repair mistakes. It was also back to the dealer for a wiring recall, which was fixed same-day. Two trips later the roof leaked on the bed during a rainstorm, which I fixed. Now it's leaking from the bathroom roof vent, and the A/C unit. I'll fix these as well (it's out of warranty). This is our fourth new travel trailer, and we've never had these kind of problems! I definitely would not recommend purchasing anything from Forest River! Now off to fix today's leaks...hope this helps.

The R-Pod 180 is an incredibly comfortable small camper. It is our 2nd R-pod, the first being a 177, which we loved but the bathroom was just not user friendly. Nearly impossible for an average sized man to change clothes in there, no storage for towels or TP. The open feeling floor plan of the 180 and larger bathroom that offered space and convenience of big camper bathrooms made a huge difference in the 180’s livability. We are a retired couple with who loves to travel and spend a lot of time out of doors, So having a great amount of inside living space was not necessary. The R-dome is one of our favorite things about the R-pod. It gave us an outdoor room with shade, protection from mosquitoes and flies, and depending on how many flaps you close, protection from rain and a little privacy to have your coffee outside in your jammies and robe in the morning. Since we do a lot of campfire or grill cooking, a huge kitchen is also not an issue and there is plenty of prep room in the 180. Over all, we are very happy with the camper and have had no issues that a little warranty work didn’t correct. Our dealer was great and apparently had no problems with Forest River. The concept is fantastic, compact, concise and a convenient place for everything you need on the road. Lots of storage and well thought our floor plan. For the camper who doesn’t want to “take it all with them” on long weekends, or even a couple weeks, It is ideal! We even spent 3 months in it our first time out, and the only thing that might be considered a negative is the small fridge which meant more trips to the grocery on that long a journey. The camper heats easily with a small ceramic heater and cools off quickly with either the vent fan or A/C if needed. The only other reservation for us; the camper ‘can’ sleep three, but it’s not really intended for more than two comfortably. Now that our grandkids are getting a little older we’d like to have room for one or two at a time once in a while. All in all, it’s a great camper!

The Winnebago portion of the Rialta is brilliant. After we sold ours, we replaced it with a Forest River R-Pod that just did not seem livable after a year in the Rialta. However, VW's "support" is non-existent to outright hostile to the Eurovan and like many of the ex-Rialta owners we met on the road and through social media help groups, "the two best days of my life where when I bought the Rialta snd when a buyer drove it out of my life (a year later)," We were both lucky and committed excessive resources to keeping our Rialta rolling, especially my sweat-equity. If it had been up to the national VW service manager, we'd have abandoned our Rialta in New Mexico for parts and taken the train or rental car back home. The problems you are likely to have will be excessively expensive, especially transmission and engine failures. VW does not supply ANY of the 3-4 electronic control boxes for the Eurovan and their service centers are incapable of troubleshooting any failure that isn't accurately and precisely diagnosed by their service computer. The light in the Rialta interior is exceptional, as is the seating arrangement, kitchen, bed, and storage. Head and shoulders better than our 22' R-Pod 179. We were trapped in our vehicle, in TorC, NM for 5 months and other than the stress of wondering if it would ever move again, we were incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is small and marginally useful, but we mostly camped in campgrounds with shower and toilet facilities, so that was never a serious drawback.

I never write negative reviews, I find it distasteful. Do not buy a R Pod- buy Jayco! I have never had such a bad experience. In the first year I had 15 warrantee issues (first 15 issues listed below). I only took it on one significant trip right at the end of the warrantee period due to Covid travel restrictions). I bought a lemon and asked for a 12-month warrantee extension. On our next trip I had a near death experience when the axle broke at 60 MPH. My requests for warrantee extensions were ignored even though we have had 7 water leaks, we have been stranded roadside (out of state) 3 separate times in the first 16 months of ownership. In the past 2 years I have had 40 workmanship failures on my 2020 R Pod 189 (listed below). I am writing a review now only because I just noted the massive bubbling of the paper-thin laminate around the kitchen sink. This is a major blemish that I do not know how to economically fix. I previously owned a Jayco 24 ft trailer for about 10 years with but one problem, (one water pump leak). Buy Jayco, they are built better, their 2-year warrantee is proof they stand by their workmanship. R Pod and Forest River make junk and will not make right when there are problems. 1. Delivery from dealer delayed 2 weeks, Air Conditioner defective, required replacement. 2. Upon pick up- obstructed slide, interior molding needing trimming. Not repaired. 3. On our first outing the heater would not work. 4. Curtain cord undone- curtain inoperable. 5. Rear window curtain would not stay up. 6. P trap disconnected draining water to the cabinet floor on first outing 7. Bathroom door handle loose and almost detached. 8. Shower hot water knob was detached and on the shower floor. 9. Outside door was impossible to close and open. 10. Dump line hanging bracket failed dragged and ruined the valve and cover- left stranded. 11. Two bolts for the entry stairs hanging loose. One was stripped 12. Dump tank retaining strap completely failed (again)- seriously stranded. 13. Rear curtain had dangling valance 14. Adjacent valance screws loose, ready to fail. 15. The rubber bumper on the door was dry rotted upon delivery. 16. Multiple dealer warrantee repairs inadequate- continued failures- I made repairs 17. Two individual steps loose, screws loose, one fell out 18. Fridge control panel repeatably falls off 19. Upper kitchen cabinet support broke 20. Loose screws, misaligned kitchen cabinet door 21. Lower kitchen cabinet doors loose 22. Bath under sink cabinet screws loose on door 23. Screws on exterior storage door not screwed in tight 24. Tear in upholstery caused from opening to bed (opened only twice) 25. Molding not nailed or glued, fell off (side of kitchen countertop) 26. Ball bearings on external stove drawer slide broke 27. Bathroom faucet plastic handle broke 28. Bath fan will not run low speed 29. Axle broke, wheel fell off leaving only spindle- stranded 12 hours, 6 months to repair 30. Water leak on a different drain fitting in bathroom 31. Water leak on hot water tank inlet fitting 32. Outside stove spray fixture line leaking at clamp inside trailer 33. Heater interior grate fell off, one screw not holding anything 34. Multiple screws not holding anything, miss aligned throughout trailer 35. Second hot water tank leak on another outlet fitting 36. Water leak on kitchen sink drain 37. Water leak under bathroom sink from vent when using black water tank rinse 38. Molding fell off by bed where heater space- not glued, 2 misaligned nails. 39. Bathroom upper mirrored cabinet screws loose- door mis aligned 40. Laminate bubbling up around kitchen sink- paper thin laminate
