We purchased a 2012 Forest River Cherokee Wolfpack WP23 toy hauler travel trailer used, it was in excellent condition and still is. It's great and a perfect fit for our Polaris Ranger. We have never had any problems with it and towing is easy. The only thing we're most unhappy about is it has a small bathroom, it does have plenty of storage though.

Unhappy Customer From Day One I recently purchased a brand-new Grey Wolf travel trailer, excited to start my RV adventures. While the trailer itself has some great features and a stylish design, my experience has been marred by unexpected defects and disappointing service from the dealer and Forest River Warranty. Shortly after purchase, I noticed many issues that should not be present in a new unit — including [Weak Brakes, Black and grey tank indicators only showing grey light]. I brought these concerns to the dealer, expecting warranty coverage and professional support. Unfortunately, they claimed they could not find any faults and refused to take responsibility for some of the defects. As a result, I had to pay out of pocket to fix problems that should have been covered. This was incredibly frustrating, especially given the trailer's new condition and the dealership's reputation. I felt dismissed and unsupported during the process. I still believe the Grey Wolf has potential, but buyers should be cautious and inspect thoroughly before finalizing the purchase. And if you're considering Forest River Cherokee Grey Wolf, be prepared to advocate strongly for yourself — because their post-sale service left much to be desired. I wish I had known this before I bought this trailer, would have gone with a different brand.

Wolf Pup Black Label edition16FQBL: We LOVE it! Compared to the standard Forest River production units, the "Black Label" edition models really ARE a huge step above in quality, design and features. Easily worth another $3,000 over the standard models. How did we learn this? When my wife and I started looking, two of our couples friends had the standard Wolf Pup models, one was the 'Full Queen' 16FQ and one was the BH 'bunkhouse' layout. We absolutely loved the layout of the 16FQ but its owners were having problems with warranty repairs, and to our eyes things looked and felt cheap. We went looking for a better option with a similar layout to the 16FQ but didn't find anything with as large a bathroom/shower, as big a refrigerator or as much storage space in a small trailer. We'd told several sales people we weren't interested in Forest River 'quality' but one of them said 'have you seen a Black Label? She showed us a used one and we bought it on the spot. Two years later we absolutely LOVE it and our friends are so jealous. We found and fixed a few simple things and struggled with the infamous "Cherokee Sleep System" bed problem (eventually fixed it with five feet of 1x2 strips to raise the lower end, placing them as 'shims' under the attachment brackets) and now we love that too! If you've seen or owned one of the standard production Cherokee Wolf trailers, you won't want to skip over the entire brand till you've seen their Black Label models. Very good construction, excellent liveability and just darn beautiful!

While this is a good looking trailer at first glance, our experience has been it is a poorly constructed RV overall. the problems started day one when we discovered that it was delivered with the wrong size tires and wheels on it - even though the factory DOT sticker listed the proper size wheels that the trailer was supposed to have. The first time we used it, water literally poured out of the shower enclosure all over. It turned out that not one ounce of sealant had been used by the factory when the shower was installed. We removed it entirely ourselves and reinstalled it properly. We also found that the shower pan had virtually no underside support installed while reinstalling the shower. The first hot weather we had this past summer caused wall panels to bow and pop loose. Turned out that the walls had large areas where no staples were used. After properly fastening down the walls in five different places, we now are still waiting for our dealer to receive he proper seam tape color from the Oregon plant where our unit was built. Last but not least during our latest trip out, water suddenly poured out from our kitchen cabinet all over the floor. Turns out the fittings on the back of the water heater were on hand tight. Easy fix, but not one that should have been necessary if there was an ounce of quality control used at the factory. Attention to detail is sorely lacking in Cherokee trailers. They look really great at first glance. Actually cheap finishes and poor workmanship along with slow to no support by Forest River are the “ norm” these days it seems. We have owned seven different RV’s over the years including a 2007 Wildwood by Forest River that we traded in for our Cherokee. Our old unit had no issues with anything and only required routine maintenance in the 12 years we owned it. There are just so many flaws popping up with our unit that I would pass on purchasing a Cherokee trailer!

Stay away from Forest River Travel Trailers. Their customer service is awful. My brand new 2024 Forest River Cherokee Timberwolf 16ML, which is permanently parked, was delivered with the gray water (and black water) pipe broken and they won’t send someone out to fix it and they won’t pay the full bill to fix it. Here is my experience. 1. My brand new Forest River trailer was delivered with a broken dishwasher and broken gray water pipe which means the black water pipe is also broken because the gray water drains out the black water outlet; so, because the gray water pipe isn’t connected, there is a huge hole in the black water pipe. 2. The dealership gave me 3 numbers to call to get help because the trailer is under warranty because it is brand new, and I’m too far away from the dealership for them to fix it. I called each number several times but only 1 number answered and there were no voicemails to leave messages at the 2 that didn’t answer. The people that did answer the phone told me they couldn’t help and gave me a new number & email. (So this is contact #4 at this point.) 3. I emailed and called the new contact. The person who emailed me back told me they couldn’t help me (in all caps like a lunatic) and gave a different email (contact #5) which was supposed to be directly to the warranty people. 4. I sent 2 emails to the warranty email address & waited. & no one ever responded. 5. I looked on the Forest River website for a contact and it said call the dealership. 6. I called the dealership again. They gave me a 6th contact’s phone number and email. I sent an email (with pictures of the broken pipe) to explain the situation. Note: I also called but I dialed incorrectly and left a voicemail on a complete stranger’s phone. Whoops! But that nice stranger actual texted me the correct phone number 10 minutes later. I got better service from that stranger than anyone at Forest River. Sad. 7. Apparently, my email got forwarded around and after almost a week of waiting, a Forest River representative told me they can’t send a tech out and gave me a list of mechanics who “might” help. And the representative told me to review the warranty; so, I don’t violate some condition and can’t get reimbursed. 8. I reviewed the warranty & learned that the warranty won’t cover the full cost of the repair for a problem that existed when the brand new trailer was delivered to me. (Have I mentioned the trailer is new and has never been used? 😂) 9. I looked at the list of mechanics. The closest one is 60 miles away but most are 100+ miles away. No mechanic is going to travel 120 miles round trip to fix a pipe on a trailer. Recall: The trailer is permanently parked and the Forest River rep was told this repeatedly. 9. I reached back out to the Forest River rep and (and I was pretty irate at this point - so I wasn’t super nice - cuz I’m only human) explained I need a real solution that will actually fix the brand new Forest River trailer that was delivered to me broken. I explained no mechanic is going to travel 120 -200 miles (round trip) to fix the pipe on the brand new trailer. I also pointed out that it is ridiculous that Forest River will not pay for the entire repair cost. I asked for a real solution that will actually fix the brand new Forest River trailer that has never been used and can’t be used because it was delivered broken. Note: I’m not off the grid. I’m on the CA coast. 10. I got no response. None. 11. So I now have had a brand new Forest River trailer for almost 2 months that I cannot use and that has never been used because it was delivered to me broken & I am, of course, still paying for it. Do not buy from Forest River. They do not stand by their products or provide any customer service that will actually fix problems & their warranty is useless. You are throwing money away if you buy from Forest River.
