DO NOT BUY FOREST RIVER PRODUCTS! Absolutely horrible experiences, picked up with issues in May 2021, it went back into the shop August 2021 with over 50 items wrong include brake line issues and foundational issues (walls falling off, water heater not put in far enough so cover can't close, shower leaking from behind walls, etc), came out of the shop in March 2023 with major issues still! Forest river is cheap and want to pay out a settlement that is pennies while trying to hush us. Also, the trade in/purchase value is pennies compared to what we paid for it, to use it for two months. They threw it together without quality control and we are the ones left holding their crappy product. They do not stand behind their quality and instead want you to just go away. Don't buy their products!

Purchased new February 2021, great floor plan, plenty of room. Now the issues. Everchill (now Lippert) went bad first year, they (everchill) replaced after much haggling. New refrigerator went bad, Lippert would not warranty as one year only from date of RV purchase. Bought new computer circut board (<$100) now works fine. Brake failure on one of the axels caused the bearings to burn out and needed new axil (Lippert product, would not replace under 5yr warranty). Replaced just under $900. Battery connect broken as nothing will work unless plugged into shore power or vehicle, battery tests fine. Now the front electric stabilizer motor will not work (lippert product) had to hand crank down. Not sure if it is Lippert products or Forest River but only had camping about 6 times and for me seems like a lot of problems. Probably would suggest to look at other brands.........

Note: we did not have a factory warranty but I had to fill in the ratings so I picked the middle one. I only purchased my first fifth wheel new so we could see if we liked the camping experience without having to factor in any issues from having a used one. Since then we've owned three more. I'm more than happy to let somebody else get all of the factory issues ironed out and suck down that first couple of years depreciation. We purchased this GD Reflection from a couple that had used it four times, then parked it after his eye surgery. He finally decided he didn't want to pull a trailer anymore so he put it on CraigsList and a greatly reduced price. We snapped it up. The only issue we had was that the grease seals during this manufacturing had turned out faulty on some units and they leaked. I pulled all of the wheels, installed new seals and cleaned and repacked the bearings. Only one was starting to get wet inside the brake hub but better safe than to find out later on I should have replaced them. This unit is much better quality than our (then) top of the line Forest River Cardinals (we had two of them).

Took deliver on June 18 2014. It was back in the shop two weeks later with self- leveling landing gear issues. I went to pick it up three weeks later and the landing gear worked great. Got to my seasonal site and the landing gear would not lower. Back to the shop it goes. All in all, the unit was in the shop a total of six weeks the first year all for landing gear. Next year I noticed a bulge in the sidewall below the bedroom slide. Fought with the dealership all summer long to get it looked at. I sent the unit back to the factory that fall for a broken weld in the frame. The third year there was a brake malfunction and ruined the brakes and backing plate on one of the axels. Warranty argument and then repaired. Mid-season the fourth year the landing gear would not self- level. Some of legs would not operate at all. Dealership wanted $300 deposit $60 trip charge and "maybe" warranty would cover it. ( I purchased the 5 year extended warranty.) I politely told them what they could do could do with their deposit and trip charge. I bought hydraulic jacks and concrete blocks and removed the legs myself. I took them to a RV repair only shop and he rebuilt them. While removing the jacks I noticed a drip from the middle of the unit right under the bathroom. I took the unit to the dealer. Turns out the tank shifted and the coupling from the sewer line to the black tank came loose. It was repaired under warranty. Three weeks later after returning from a one week trip I noticed it was leaking under the bathroom again. This time I took it to the repair only shop. The tank shifted again and the coupling came loose. The coupling was to short so the repair only shop put in a longer full rubber coupling. No problems with tank leak since. Last year I noticed the floor in the kitchen in front of the sink was soft. I took it in the repair only shop that fixed the landing gear and had him inspect the RV for water leaks. None found. Turns out Forest River changed the design and went with a 5/8 inch sub floor instead of the 3/4. They also did not add any additional bracing to help support the thinner sub floor. This is a known issue I found through the Forest River web site. Warranty is over so I don’t know what I am going to do to get this fixed. I will never buy another Forest River product. They are junk!

I understand that in this market many people are taking what they can get. that said, we shopped for a travel trailer for a couple years. At least a year before COVID and all the market mayhem. we decided we wanted a 20RDSE for the floorplan and features. after purchasing a different model and returning it because it had very serious and potentially deadly safety problems, an RDSE became available. after a bit of price gouging "The Dealer marked it up another grand over advertised price" we took the unit home to find that there was no, and I mean zero, dealer prep done on the unit and due to this pretty much every system in the unit either didn't work or didn't work properly. Every space was full of construction debris, heater vents disconnected, plumbing leaks everywhere. furnace wouldn't fire. propane hose not secured and sagging down to touch the axel under the trailer. third brake light on bright all the time and blinks about every 5 seconds, no power to back up camera. Range hood didn't work and one of the most annoying parts to this all is and probably the most avoidable is the fridge door installed so it would hit the wall and not open enough to pull the shelves out to adjust them. But wait! there's more! We discovered that of the advertised 42 gallons of fresh water capacity, which was one of the reasons we wanted this model, only about 25 gallons was usable before the pump went dry. Due to the positioning of the vent and the draw tube it would leave the rest inaccessible. The only response from the dealer after all these issues was "drop it off, but you wont get it back for at least a month" and "this is an entry level unit, if you want something better you can trade up" and of course they said "you have to warranty components directly with the appliance manufacturer" So I have spent several days troubleshooting and repairing this brand new trailer. I've got everything working and hope to have a trouble free dry camping experience this weekend. We went in to this after doing a great deal of homework and research thinking we should expect a basic level of quality. The component manufacturers have been great helping me troubleshoot the issues and feel lucky that I have the skills to figure this stuff out. We would be at the whim of the not so diligent dealer and their dismissive attitude if I were not the "handy" person I am. We have not found this basic level of quality in Forest River or any sort of customer service from their dealer network. We may end up with Forest River for our next rig but will be much more diligent buyers.
