We have enjoyed using our Discovery 39G. We haven't ran into any big problems and we have had it for two years now. I would definitely recommend purchasing the extra five year warranty and the clear coat and seating protection just in case. With any rv you have a chance of something breaking which can be costly. We like Fleetwood as the rv's are great quality and look for the price. We would but Fleetwood again in the future.

Fleetwood is not high on quality construction or delivery. This was our second coach. Both our Bounder and Discovery had persistent problems with the generator. After months it was discovered that there was a short in the harness connecting the generator to the coach.
The inverter was installed with the incorrect switch causing the batteries to run low and shut down. This shut down the 12 volt system of the coach and the thermostat. Our dogs nearly baked in the coach due to that error.
We used the coach one season and got tired of constant repairs.

This is my second Discovery (first was a used 1998). I view the Discovery as a top mid-level diesel pusher (just below the luxury models)and provides many upgraded features for the price. Had a few very minor problems after purchase and were readily addressed and fixed by the dealer. Fleetwood and Freightliner have provided excellent customer service, answering a number of questions since purchase. My 2013 model has multiple upgraded features: hardwood cabinets, polished porcelain floors, 3 a/c units, air horns, power cord reel, generator auto start, 2800 pure sine wave inverter, 6 6v house batteries, residential stainless refer, large water & holding tanks, 380hp Cummins engine, full paint with graphics, 4 Sony TV's, home theater system, exterior entertainment, in-motion satellite antenna, stacked washer/dryer, polished aluminum wheels, auto leveling, AM/FM/CD/Nav/Sat Stereo radio, Heated mirrors w/cameras/ Electric Main and Door Awning, slide out toppers, solid surface counters, power driver/passenger seats w/heat, huge full width storage w/1 90" slide out tray, etc. Many luxury features at a more affordable price.
Love the floor plan. Works well for us, especially when the grandkids spend the night.
It's easy to drive, easy to set up at destination, and has been a reliable motor home. I would/may buy another one.

We purchased this unit used with some anxiety about the age, but it appeared to be in excellent shape and was within our budget. We have been pleased with the sturdy construction, the quality overall, and the use of space. We have taken it on short trips as well as longer trips and it has performed well. We had normal servicing on it when we first purchased and the only repair we have had so far was a broken belt.
It drives well. We tow a Jeep, and had the AirForce one braking system installed. Have taken it over mountains with no problems at all...don't even now the Jeep is behind us!
The interior furnishings are all original and have held up well. We only replaced the mattress for personal reasons.
We have had pull behinds and fifth wheels in the past, manufactured by other brands. We would buy another Fleetwood without hesitation based on our experience with the Discovery.
