I bought the RV Used in 2008. It was three years old and appeared to be in good condition. Floor plan was perfect for our family in that it had a rear bunkhouse and a single slide that made a larger living area. First year we noticed that the unit had leaks all over. Front cap leaked so badly that water was running into the closet and would pool within the outside storage area. Rear cap leaked, seals around the slide leaked and the the slide also leaked inside the cabinet that was over the table. Every year I would remove the old sealant and install new sealant but could never get the unit dry. The front cap eventually wrinkled and the luan rotted away. Sides de-laminated and I had to screw the fiberglass into the aluminum frame to keep them from pealing away when I was driving. I did contact Keystone early on in the process and they told me it was out of warranty and was obviously a maintenance issue anyway.
I have looked at "for sale" pics of many 2005 Laredos of the same model and I noticed most of them had wrinkling of the front caps which leads me to believe it was a design defect and I am sure they knew about it.
I traded it in this year, and basically had to pay the dealer to take it. I know it was an older unit now, but I worked very hard to try to take care of it but it was of poor design to start with so it was a loosing battle. What worries me is Laredo was a good name, but was bought by Thor Industries which is who my 2005 was made by. Thor seems to have a checkered reputation. Worries me more is that really there are a ton of "Companies" out there manufacturing RV's but really they are part of what appears to be about 3 companies. I think we have a monopoly going on here and maybe this needs to be looked into. I did buy a new unit but I went in with my eyes wide open and I saw the most units had obvious quality issues in manufacturing. I went into the dealership when it was raining hard to see if the units I liked seemed to have leaks...yup...Looked at a Coleman that had a serious leak issue...saw a Keystone with puddles in the storage area....the one unit I chose eventually was dry and showed no signs. Overall build quality seemed okay but things like cabinet closer needed to be adjusted or tightened. Had it a month and already the Dometic AC has a bad blower (out of balance...seems to be a very common problem with this AC unit based on the web feedback).
I had a 1972 Winnebago Motor Home was running and everything was working and the interior was in decent shape. I took it from South Florida to the Carolina Mountains regularly. I sold it in 2001 and the new owner drove it away. I am not a newby to RV'ing and I know how to maintain a unit to last.
SO to the point...Keystone is owned by Thor, so if you don't like Keystone do to build issues, then you have to also suspect Airstream, Bison, CrossRoads, Cruiser RV, DRV, Dutchmen, Entegra Coach, Heartland RV, Highland Ridge, Jayco, Keystone, K-Z, Livin' Lite, Redwood, Starcraft, and Venture RV.
Long gone are the days where brands meant something....
Oh, don't buy a 2005 Keystone Laredo 28BH!

This RV has been great for our family. I believe it says it sleeps 10, but it really sleeps 8 comfortably. We love how the kids can play in the bunk house area, or watch TV and play games back there on a rainy day, and we can close the door and have a little separation while cooking in the kitchen or watching our own movie in the living room area.
Have enjoyed camping even in the winter after winterizing and just dry camping. The electric fireplace puts out enough heat when it gets down into the 30s at night. When it gets colder, the furnace does a great job of keeping you toasty. I camped in December (2022) and it got down to 12F at night, but I woke up hot in the night and had to turn the furnace down.
I know some people don't use their mircowaves when they camp, but we use ours from time to time and I'm glad it's there. We have also used our oven on occasion. Overall the kitchen is great, and we love the single sink and are glad the sink in this model isn't split.
The powered stabilizing jacks, toung jack, and awning are great, and we love the outlet and the mounting bracket for the tv that came on the outside of the trailer. Nothing beats sitting out watching a college football game or a movie on a nice fall night after hiking and exploring all day.
We love the outdoor kitchen and make good use of it, cooking outside in just about all seasons, though I do prefer cooking inside when it is really cold out.
The outdoor shower has been great as well, it's nice to be able to rinse off after being down at the beach or to be able to clean up muddy kids/shoes/etc.
In my opinion, the best camping is camping somewhere with full hookups, allowing us full use of the sinks and shower (to me the best part about having a travel trailer/rv is having AC in the summer and being able to shower in your own bathroom every day while you are camping), but we ended up getting an external Rhino holding tank which allows us to have the same experience even if we aren't on full hookups, as long as there is a dump station in the park we just empty into the Rhino and then tow that behind the SUV to the dump station.
On the subject of the shower, I am over 6 feet tall and this unit has a great shower with a sky light and I can take a nice hot shower without having to bend over. I also love the actual sliding shower door as opposed to a shower curtain.
The RV has tons of storage inside and underneath the master bedroom in the pass through cargo bay.
We've only had minor issues with the trailer, most things you would expect from a home on wheels bouncing along down the highway, and when we needed to submit something under the warranty (we had an issue with the kitchen table top), they replaced it without issue.
We love the LED strips on the front and under the awning, and the lighted cargo bay.
The trailer is wired for a second AC unit above the master bed, but we have not yet had the need to add it. If we lived in Houston or Florida we probably would.
Unfortunately we have to sell ours, if you are interested check out the link:

I was hesitant to buy this RV because I could not find much info.
The floor plan was exactly what we were looking for, and really had no many options, so, we decided for it.
We are mostly stationary with some short traveling.
It handles well on the road, no surprises there.
We have noticed that it cools better than previous RV's, so seems to be well insulated for an RV.
I guess the white glossy helps and looks beautiful, but it gets easily dirty, so you will need extra cleaning.
The master bedroom/primary bath, is common to all the Sabre designs I saw, and I guess they got it right. Spacious with lots of cabinets. The 2nd. AC is a must, as well as the versa bed (reclinable). No complaints there, except for the shower head/faucets that look cheap and are different than the rest.
The main living area fits our needs perfectly, once again with a lot of storage and counter space.
The residential fridge, for our purpose was a must, and work much better than our previous gas/electric ones.
The dining with chairs is much more comfortable and usable than the bench ones, at least for us, and the Recliners are comfortable, although the controls for heating/massage seem to be too sensitive.
The radio/DVD and speakers are subprime, and the TVs that came with it are HORRIBLE.
Furniture is in the low quality side, and paper scratches easily, but is about the same across brands on the price range.
The oven is a little too small, they should have gone with a little bigger one, specially since the microwave is not a convection microwave.
The bunkhouse has good storage space and a huge TV that may be even too big for the room, sacrificing extra storage space.
Outdoors, the placement of the speakers is, from our point of view, wrong, and they are also cheap.
The utilities control is one of the cheapest ones, but gets the job done.
The basement door under the bedroom slide, opens downwards. While some people thinks it is wrong, I love it, it will avoid crushing it if forget to close it before closing slide.
The front steps are solid steps and really nice, but on the rear door steps they went the cheapest possible option, in my case will need upgrade soon.
The outdoor kitchen lacks of a sink. I understand the reason for it but it is missed.
It has 2 fridges, which I think it is an excess. I removed one to have more counter space.
The blue lights everywhere outside (Including kitchen) get annoying and don't help much.
The rear rack is helpful. The spare tire location reduces load capacity. (I will be removing it).
Once you start opening things, you start finding the issues.
Sabre decided to go with flexible PVC reinforced tubes instead of PEX. I guess it saves costs in material and labor and there are less connectors to blow up. (You still use same connectors as PEX) However, this kind of material are susceptible to damage if rubbing against something.
In my case, it rubbed against a screw, and leaked all over the fuse box and converter.
That is the only issue I really have had in 6 months.
Cables are a mess, and all connections really done in a rush.
Once again, this is an overall problem with ALL brands in the price range.
I have owned RVs from all other major manufacturers (2012 Dutchmen Coleman, 2016 Heartland Mallard and 2019 Keystone Cougar), and the Sabre has been the best performer with less issues of all of them, but i did not have major issues with either.
Always remember to have the RV inspected by a pro before buying. I have to highly recommend Sabre
