* Fit and Finish: Airstream is known for their build quality. Good resell because you are getting an Airstream that is quality built, reliable and can be passed down from generation to generation and continue to have high resell value.
We've been very pleased with our Airstream.

This is my 3rd Airstream - the first two, a Bambi and a Flying Cloud were great but ultimately the Floor Plans were too cramped for us, but we felt they were incredibly well built and exactly what I hoped an Airstream would be -
But if this Classic is representative of what Airstream is building today since Covid then its not your Fathers Airstream! They supposedly had to source materials from other suppliers and they opted for poorer quality and didnt alter their design for the new components so cabinetry doesnt fit, options dont function and these failings are not likely to be addressed by Airstream, components are a far lesser Quality in what is supposed to be their Flagship than was in my Flying Cloud
And attention to Quality of workmanship _ GONE - There is a huge depression in the side of my unit that the dealer and I are sure isnt a dent but a fault in Construction.
Keep in mind the prices have risen 10s of thousands of dollars and the leadtime to get one is 18 months, so they had the money and time to build it right and chose not to
I DO LOVE the layout and creature features - I just hope this doesnt continue to be a nightmare - we will try to fix what we can and live with the rest - just hope it doesnt get worse!

Our 2016 Airstream Flying Cloud Special Edition Grand Gourmet Lounge, Model 25FB is the perfect setup. The left-side bench seat that converts to a cramped single bed is gone in our layout Instead you have a cabinet with butcher block top with 4-drawers + 2 pull-down door storage compartments. So you get the much needed extra space for food prep. and critical storage for pots & pans, skillets & frying pans, bowels, cutting boards, trivets - the things you really need to make the Airstream practical and livable.
The 25' length doesn't exceed the max. length limits for all the National and/or State Parks.
Our 3,000 watts of solar panel electrical storage and 39-gallon fresh water tank allowed us to stay 6+ days in campsites without Electrical or Water hook ups.
Our Airstream allowed us to be away from it all, without having to be away from all.

The first Airstream that my wife and I walked through was the Flying Cloud 19CB and we were immediately impressed with the overall use of space and usability of this model. We looked at larger floor plans and the Sport series and came right back to the 19CB, this was the one. This model we think, is the ultimate model for user flexibility, you won't find any wasted space and the it "lives" very large and efficiently....oh yeah, it's such an easy tow as well. Just about every creature comfort you can think of that allows you to get away for the weekend or use for longer term traveling.
The AC units is fully deducted with a programmable thermostat just like you have in your home....very quiet and super efficient (same AC unit used in the much larger models). The two heating options allow for flexibility if you are plugged to shore power or boon-docking in cooler climates. The dual fantastic fans are rain sensing therefore you don't have to worry about heading back to the Airstream if its going to rain, they will auto close.
The convection/microwave combo is an upgrade and we are grateful that we purchased, we've only used a couple of times but great to have the flexibility and use in tandem with the 3 burner range.
The factory Clarion surround sound and bluetooth capabilities have allowed us to work comfortably from the Airstream and we have enjoyed the entertainment options with the swivel Samsung TV. The Airstream has built in connections for cable/satellite TV but we used it for an internet connection and it work fantastically.
Everything about this model is EASY...from towing to unhitching using the power jack, the stabilizing arms are super easy access and with an adaptor you can use a standard portable drill to raise and lower in a matter of minutes. The Airstream weight allows you to tow with a mid-size SUV, any larger model would require a much larger vehicle due to the weight.
We have this Airstream fully "kitted" out and ready to go...we would be open to include all items you need to get going immediately, let's discuss.
This is a great opportunity to own a practically brand-new, Airstream Flying Cloud 19CB with less than 200 miles towed on the road. Please reach out with any questions as I am passionate about the Airstream brand and love to share my experience and perspective!

My husband and I bought our Airstream 23FB new in April 2018. In 11 months we've driven it over 9,000 miles, on two very extended trips. I can't express how glad I am that we decided, on our first RV, to spend more and buy what we'd read was the best. We were so nervous, reading stories on the Pissed Off Consumer website about RVs with a dozen disasters, sitting at the dealer for weeks waiting for repairs. The layout of the 23 is particularly brilliant - it had more storage space for clothes than the AS 27! Not to mention the walk-around queen bed and the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a mid-size RV. Tows like a dream. But I think the real place Airstream shines is the quality. Since our problem-free shakedown trip, we've had only one problem, with the regulator on the water pump. Though we bought it in Ohio at Haydocy, the AS dealer in Orange County repaired it in less than a day, no drama, no warranty issues. Oh, and they returned the trailer to me cleaner than when I left it, I'm embarrassed to say. We joined our local Wally Byam Club, and we've found the tight Airstream community to be the most supportive we've ever seen. So, because we've fallen in love with the life, we've gone back to the same dealer, and we're now trading in and buying a Flying Cloud 30 foot. All we needed was more fighting room, and in comparison it's like a cathedral. But just the same in quality and that Danish modern Flying Cloud vibe. Find a dealer or a show, and walk in to an AS. You'll feel it at once, the level of caring, and the pride. Yes, they cost more, but I really think you save money in the long run, with the low maintenance costs and great resale value. Bite the bullet, and buy Airstream.

We like our Airstream but there have been problems and really, too many for what Thor charges. About $5000 - $10,000 less would be more reasonable considering the build quality.
Fortunately, we're do-it-yourselfers and have remedied the problems we've encountered. But what about those that don't have or are unwilling to acquire the skills necessary to fix them? That's a topic we cover when on some of our journeys: can you imagine not knowing how to fix some of the things an RV-er will have and then having to take it in to the dealer? A lot of RV service epitomizes bottom-of-the-barrel customer relationships and quality of work is seriously lacking, generally. Believe us, the problems will be there whether you spend six figures or a low-5 number on another brand. Expect that assembly problems will be part of your complaints on any brand and again, Airstream is no better or worse.
Airstream fanboys will say, 'oh, the quality is great and we love our Airstream' and for a few, that's an accurate assessment. Some Airstreams are 'tongue-heavy'. Airstreams' specs say the tongue on our Flying Cloud weighs over 800 lbs. That's a good deal over the general guideline of 10% of the total weight of the trailer. No comment from Airstream (ever) on this and we deal with it. I do not know how other brands fare in this area, BTW.
Would we buy another Airstream? I think we'd try Lance, Grand Design or a couple of other brands next. They won't hold their value as well as the Airstream does but that's because of the 'cachet' Airstream has, certainly not the build quality but the fact that it's an iconic brand. Other than aerodynamics (which are great) it does not do anything better than the average other RV. Do a search under 'cabinets falling Airstream' or 'skin buckling Airstream' which is this brand's Achilles heel. Each brand has its own unique failings, not just Airstream. And this is not an indictment of Airstream but just one of those 'to be dealt with' things.
We like our Airstream but we also realize that it will require constant maintenance like any other RV does, not more and not less. If you're not willing to learn some basic skills in repair, rent an RV for your trips. Yes, I know you may pay a lot for your RV but price in an RV does not equate with quality like it does (generally) for a car. Paying megabucks for a trailer does not entitle you to hands-off or trouble-free ownership.

First, let me begin with my list of problems, which started on day one.
1. Zinc screws on roof rusted within weeks.
2. Axles out of line
3. Radiused windows leaked badly, causing black stains on floor covering, that does not come out. Brought to Airstream's attention on month 14, but problem had been going on for months, still within the warranty. Airstream's response was I had discovered it outside the warranty and told me to reseal all the windows.
4. The piano hinge on bath door sagged considerably, due to insufficient screws, causing the misalignment of the handle, locking a person inside.
5. To all the drawer slides, I have added additional screws, as they came loose within a few weeks.
6. Two of the plastic U trims that cover the top and sides that butt up to the walls of the cabinetry slid down behind the cabinets, and disappeared. Very very difficult to fix. Had to remove the cabinets. All it needed was some kind of adhesive or fastener when installed, to prevent this.
7. The two radius doors under the sink in my model were way too much weight for the hinges. Replaced several, eight, over time, at my own expense (Airstream sent me two), plus added an additional hinge to each door. After a while, I just removed the doors to travel. Finally, I removed the hinges and installed piano hinges to solve the problem.
ALL these problems were discovered well within the first two years. Airstream did nothing, not willing to work with me and borderline nasty about "no longer under warrantee".
After owning a Keystone Cougar 24' fifth wheel for several years, loving it, no problems, we decided to go for it and move on to an Airstream Flying Cloud. The reputation it has had needs to be amended as it has been a nightmare: one problem after another. The sharp appearance wore off quickly.

This review is for a BaseCamp 20X. This is a copy of the letter I wrote to Airstream/Thor.
To whom it may concern.
After 2 1/2 years of ownership, 11 service visits, and approximately 7 months total, in the shop, I’ve given up on ever getting the advertised airstream “experience”. (It’s currently in the shop since August 10th). I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in your product and its shocking lack of quality and dependability. This was my retirement gift to myself, always wanting to experience the airstream “life on the road”. After looking at other trailers, the BaseCamp 20X seemed like a perfect model to see how we liked RV traveling. Though we spent much more on the BaseCamp compared to the others we looked at, we believed it would be a better quality trailer and be more dependable on the road. We could not have been more wrong!
In the 24 trips we have taken, we have yet to have ONE trip, where everything worked properly and we didn't have to make a list for another trip to service. Here is a brief list of the issues:
1. Heater did not work on our first trip, fixed after the second visit, when I had to tell the dealer that there was a service bulletin.
2. Fresh water tank only is 20 gallons, even though my owners manual and the original information on-line showed 27 gallons. Huge difference! Your customer service said that’s the way it is, no apology of course. Weird how you can misrepresent your product like that with no repercussions.
3. All the interior panels in the bathroom were cracking, and had to be reskinned.
4. Black water flush inoperative. The valve was installed backwards from the factory.
5. LP cover warped, replaced, but is warped again. Looks so cheap.
6. Bathroom floor squeaks loudly, 3 visits to repair.
7. Vinyl floor blistering around same area as squeak around wet bath. 2 repairs. I’m assuming the glue was not good and I will be seeing this again.
8. Gray tank sensor not reading correctly. 2 repairs.
9. Water pump issues. 6 repairs!! They are replacing the pump again on this visit. It’s still in the shop.
10. Propane leak, arrived at campsite with no propane one time!
11. Our last trip, the a/c would barely cool, so we left our trip a day early. They say they can not find anything wrong with it. It has cooled perfectly prior, even in our 110 degree temps in Phoenix. This is a concern, as we travel with 2 dogs and we leave them in the trailer by themselves at times. Not any more, I can’t trust or depend on this trailer to be safe for them.
12. Both rear table tops delaminating. In the shop now for this. Seems to be a problem on other trailer models as well based on a customer I met in service.
13. Approximately a dozen other minor issues that one should not expect at any price. It was easier for me to fix some of them myself, rather than deal with the service department. (For the most part, another huge disappointment)
Until now, I just kept patiently thinking we would get everything fixed for good and not have to be in service so much. After over 2 1/2 years that hasn’t happened, and does not seem that it will. At this point we just feel so duped into believing the airstream quality myth. Once an iconic brand, you seem to be just another Thor trailer company now, only shinier and more expensive. I’m nervous every time we take it out, knowing something else will likely fail, possibly ruining a trip.
We have loved RV living and will continue our camping adventures. Our plan is to upgrade to a 22-23 ft trailer, originally planning on a 23ft flying cloud. Even after all this, we still thought we wanted to stay with airstream. That last cling to your brand was given up on when I dropped it for the current service visit . Another customer in the shop with a new flying cloud, had all the interior panels delaminating! We would feel stupid to pay another 60-70K to upgrade to a larger airstream, and have the quality issues we have now. I can’t pay for a name again.
