Visiting Florida to buy a new house moving from Maine. Got to NW Florida and was experiencing trouble with our water heater and possibly the main AC. Since Gander was an East to West dealer and we were travelling, I called them to see if they could do a quick check on the WH, since the camper was winterized and we didn't put fresh water in the tank and start the WH since overnight temps were still very cold. Gander's response was something like "Well, it's early May and we are booking for June now. Why don't you come back and see us then". So much for helping someone that had the product that they sell and helping someone traveling, not just getting ready for the season. The whole RV industry-Dealer network is irreparably BROKEN. If any other industry worked like this, they wouldn't last long. And then you say "I'll call a mobile RV tech. Well, they're two weeks out in their schedule and they only work 9-5 and they're off on weekends. Maybe try taking Monday-Tuesday off during "season" and work the weekends with a premium on the trip charge. Most owners don't give a crap about the trip charge, just get whatever is broken fixed.
