We bought a brand new Thor Motor Coach Windsport 31C model from Camper Clinic in Buda on 8/26/2023. They kept it for a week to check it out and clean it up. We picked it up on 9/2/23 and took it to our storage unit the day after we stocked it. We took it out for our first trip to Rockport Texas on 9/23/23 through 9/26/23. The trip was pretty much a disaster with multiple issues on the trip and we returned it to the dealer on 9/27/23 for them to fix all of the issues. The issues are attached to this email. On November 18, 2023, we asked to pick up the RV from the dealer and we were assured that the only things left to fix were cosmetic so we arrived at the dealership to pick up our RV for a Thanksgiving trip. While we were at the dealer, we asked for them to check the heat because we had not checked it out yet d/t the only time we had used it was during the severe heat and Thanksgiving was supposed to be very cold. We tried it out and it would not work. They tried for a couple of hours to get it working and could not. We agreed to leave it there for a couple of days and they would fix it. We were called back the same afternoon to come and pick it up and that it was just a wire. We picked it up that same day and parked it back at the storage facility (that we paid for a year in advance, by the way). We picked it up on 11/22 to get it stocked with everything we would need. On Thanksgiving day, we headed out to a campsite in the Hill Country with some friends and the RV door came open while we were driving down the road. We ended up having to use something to keep it shut on the trip thinking we could probably fix it when we got to the campsite. Once we got to the campsite, some friends helped us fix the door so that we could at least lock it to keep it closed. The first night we were there, the temperatures dipped to the low 30s. Low and behold, the heater did not work. When we called our RV help people, they told us just to use a space heater and call them the next day (day after Thanksgiving). We got up, freezing, and got our 2 friends who live in their RV to help us figure out the problem. When they were unable to figure it out, we got the RV maintenance people on the phone and they talked with them. The maintenance guy finally decided it was probably the computer board controlling the thermostat that was not working. They told us just to bring it back in when we were done with our trip and suggested using a space heater for the duration of our trip. So after some very cold days and nights, we drove back from our trip straight to the dealership which was now Blue Compass RV in Buda Texas. That was on November 27, 2023 and it has been there ever since. So, we have had this RV for exactly 41/102 days counting today. It is still in the shop. We paid for a year's storage and the RV has been in there for about 3 and 1/2 weeks. We have no ETA of if or when it will ever be returned. I asked the Service Manager at Blue Compass RV in Buda when we dropped it off this last time if I could claim the "Lemon Law" and get a replacement RV and he just told me it wasn't a lemon. I can't think of one that fits the lemon law more than this RV. This is totally ridiculous and at this point, I would not recommend Thor or Blue Compass and wish we had never gotten into this disaster of a deal. We picked up our RV on Friday 12/22 when they told us all the repairs were done. On the way home, a light came on the panel. We called the Buda service dept and Austin told us we need to call our warranty people and take it back in for repair. It had been in there since Nov 27. We also had an issue with the overhead cab bed as we could not get the pins out to let the bed down. This was supposed to have been fixed as well This RV is a piece of junk. It is a classic lemon and I don't understand how we are supposed to travel in it when it stays broken all the time. We have now made an appt to take it into the Seguin Tx service but I will be contacting an attorney about the lack of care and service and the fact that we were sold a lemon.
