The Winnebago manufactured Itasca Meridian 42E is a luxury Motorhome with what many owners think is the best floorplan ever made. Based on a solid Freightliner chassis with a remarkably smooth ride and handling. The beautiful Winnebago high quality cabinetry is the next thing that I noticed after being blown away by the L-shaped leather sofa, fireplace and leather lounger. I love the huge residential refrigerator and lower pull-out freezer. It held more than the one in my home! Winnebago's top 5 ranking in the industry is evident throughout the detailed design and features of this Motorhome.

The Freightliner chassis with the 450hp engine is a dream to drive which is why it is the chassis for do many Class A motorhomes. But the interior woodwork is beautiful and high quality. The three air conditioners do a great job of cooling in the Summer heat of Orlando.

Love this motorhome. Perfect for full-timers or just for the weekend. The extra half bath is a real plus. My wife gets the big bath and I get my own small bath. Super air ride suspension with the after market shocks and antisway bar. Tons of space both up and down below. With new maintenance free coach batteries and almost new tires you have many years of enjoyment ahead. I hate to give it up, but my wife thinks I'm too old for such a big vehicle so we've decided to find a more stationary 2nd home.

We lived in this full-time for 5 years. We bought a house to be closer to family needs. We hate giving it up, but I don't want it to sit around. She has brand new tires, all maintenance done and ready to go. Winnebago has the widest entry door which makes it nice carrying in groceries. We love Winnebago factory for any repairs or service. They do a one and done service, which means they fix it right the first time. This is in great shape. No issues.

We purchased our 42E from Lazy Days brand new and we could not be happier with the coach. We were told when we purchased the coach to expect at least 30 things to be on a "punch list" within the first year as most motor coaches will have little things go wrong that will need adjustments. We literally needed maybe 3-5 things adjusted such as some doors and a lighting fixture and one roller shade in the bedroom. All of our appliances, systems and major components have been running wonderfully since we got the coach. The one complaint we had was the door lock system which took 3 times to the authorized dealer to get the connectors straightened out. Other than that, it has been great. We have been from Maine to Florida and have stayed in many different types of campgrounds and had no issues. We have had wonderful support from our authorized dealers on scheduled maintenance and they have been able to service us quickly to get us on the road and ready for the season. We love the layout of this coach and having the kitchen in the middle has been a huge benefit. We LOVE the air bed and honestly can say it is the most comfortable bed we have EVER owned. (Sometimes I wish we could take it into the house!) I would not hesitate to purchase another Winnebago again.

We are true fulltimers - no permanent residence. Our main concerns were floor plan, redundancy of heating/cooling, appliances, fully self contained for at least a week. Our short list became Newmar, Tiffin, & Winnebago. We had never had a Motor Home before - we were tent/trailer campers for 30+ years. When you move into a RV you realize just how small they are! We went from 3000+ sq ft home to 420 sq ft! We researched and attended RV shows for 3 years before making our purchase. After 51/2 years in our coach & 35K miles. Likes: excellent floor plan for full time living and occasional guests. HVAC redundancy - 2 furnaces, 3 roof AC with heat pumps, and fireplace - combined we have electric and propane heat and cooking. Residential refrigerator, microwave/oven, washer and dryer, and entertainment systems are a must for us. The 42E also has the most basement storage and large holding tanks - absolutely musts for full time living. We have over 400 hours on our diesel generator and consider it essential because we leave it set to auto start all the time. Dislikes - roof ac units are noisy,, Galley slide issues - the Lippert Schwintek cannot handle the weight of the galley slide! We are completely satisfied with the Winnebago support network. Freightliner and Cummins have been there for us, too. All things considered the 42E has been an excellent home for us.
