2014 Toy Hauler reviews

We purchased this unit used last year. The toilet in the back dumps into the grey tank that is the same rear tank for the bath sink, the washer hookup and the kitchen sink. That is so nasty. We contacted Forest river and they said they didn't know about it as it was a long time ago. We did several flushes with colored water to confirm this was correct. What a health hazard. Needless to say we will not be using the rear toilet. We flushed it out till it was clear. If you purchase a camper with rear bath, make sure it has a rear black tank. Show less

Buyer beware! Condensation within the walls without any visible signs . My Octane has never shown any condensation issues, not in the cabinets or living areas. I’ve always kept the unit well vented when in storage and under a RV carport. Your RV may be rotting away and you don’t even know it! My Octane is an excellent example of poor craftsmanship and no pride in one’s work! It took just seven year for the front eight feet to rot away from the inside out. I would have not known except that my Octane split open driving down the highway. The entire passenger side front corner opened up nearly the entire length while we were heading to a rally. At highway speeds it took just seconds to start peeling back and away. After opening up the walls I discovered massive gaps with no insulation and the AC duct-work taps so poorly cut that half the air was being pumped into the roof and walls! The three roof vents were open behind the trim pieces. So every time we ran the AC we were pumping moisture into the walls and roof. This was so bad that the aluminum floor framing has rotted away, yes aluminum 1 1/2 square tubing totally dissolved in seven years! There was no vapor barrier between the outer aluminum siding and the inside walls. This creates continuous condensation every time there is a temperature variation. Forget about the warranty or your RV insurance, you are on your own for the repairs on this type of damage. Dealer estimate for the repairs? Just shy of $16,000 for repairs! Like I would let any dealer repair it back to factory specs!! I’ve repaired the unit myself for less than 3K. I used closed cell insulation, treated lumber, vapor barriers, Kreg joints, exterior rated glues and highly elastic polymer caulk and sealants. Built the way you would expect to find in one of these expensive toys. So look before you buy and definitely check if you own. Not all RV Condensation can be seen! Show less

We bought this toy hauler new in 2014 after doing homework on every toy hauler we could find. 2 adults 3 boys 2 Doberman 2 Indian motorcycles 1 F-350 diesel This trailer has been fantastic for 9 years and is still fantastic. When loaded for a beach trip, we are over 20,000 lbs and you don’t know it’s back there. We did have a small issue in September, 2021 when we were having the trailer Winterized and washed at General RV. They were on the roof and noticed a soft spot near the front A/C unit. As it turned out, that unit was installed incorrectly from Heartland in 2014. They stapled through the roof in the wrong direction and water got in and rotted the roof through the years. General RV in Canton, Ohio took the time and pictures and sent everything to Heartland. Heartland agreed that this was 100% their mistake. After 9 years (obviously outside of any warranty coverage), Heartland told us if we would pull the trailer to their facility in Indiana, they would completely tear off the old roof and install a new roof. Obviously, that is what we did and we currently have a 2014 trailer and a 2 year old roof. Our next trailer will be a Heartland. Show less

Every single time we have used this fifth wheel something has broken. Every possible corner was cut during construction all the way to leaving caulking tubes in the underbelly. Every single screw has come out at least once. Every knob and drawer pull has fallen off, and even the bottoms of the drawers have fallen out. The shower handle has disassembled itself while exploding plastic pieces in my eye. The propane regulator literally cracked in half, filling the cavity with propane. I imagine the build quality is on par with the other brands. $5 worth of thread lock would probably be enough to save a customer years of hassle. Show less

First year we had trailer window blew out backing into parking spot they said not under warranty now 7 years later rear ramp door has rotted out no help from KZ floor plan terrible can't get into bathroom unless slide-out is out won't ever buy a KZ product ever again Show less

Ramp door has rotted out kz will do nothing to help lippert who make the ramp has offered one to replace it at a reduced cost would never buy a kz trailer again or any trailer with a ramp made by lippert Show less

My wife and I have seen many great places in our toy hauler. Unit is in excellent shape is the number 1 comment we hear. Since we live in Colorado we are lucky enough to live close to many local camping opportunities. When camping local we take our Polaris along for added adventure possibilities. If you are looking for a toy hauler this one has been very taken care of! Show less

Excellent, great experience’s with RV. Simply put we have taken great care with our toy hauler and have seen lots of great places. With so much local camping available just minutes from where we live in Colorado we would bring our Polaris along and really get out into the forest for extra exploring. This has been a great unit for us. You get a 30 foot Rv in a 24’ towable. Half ton is very sufficient for towing. We’ve used the toy hauler garage to hall “stuff” for my wife’s antique mall booths but also enjoy the hailer space with its bunks as a separate bedroom for kids and grands. Bath is a bit tight but otherwise it’s a lot of camper with an easy tow. Show less

Dear wife and I purchased this unit used from dlr to replace our '05 '38 K-Z New Vision Sportster with plans to full time in it. This is our 5th camper trailer and 3rd 5th wheel and 1st with triple axles, We lost alot of maneuverability with the addition of a 3rd axle with little increase in weight carrying capacity 16k# vs 18k#. I had the dlr add a Reese 4/20k# Goose Box and Morryde LRE4000 suspension w xbraces and HD wetbolt kit which has significantly reduced the shock and vibration that these crackerboxes are exposed to going down the deteriorating American HWY system. We have not been able to full time in it yet but have had many multi state trips with it. Overall build quality is about norm for price range. The cabinets and hardware are superior to our old KZ but the KS use of osb floor and roof decking is a real problem when water intrusion is encountered FWIW my KZ had exterior grade plywood which is more tolerant to moisture. The 375 has electrical pnl in the garage with batteries in the forward compartment with only 1#6 conductor for power feed which results in considerable dc voltage drop (3v) and reduces the 90amp output from the converter to 28amps availabe to charge batteries I added 400w solar which delivers 25a charging to batteries to reduce run time for the generator planning to install inverter/charger to eliminate effects of this significant design flaw. The TPO roof membrane is paper thin and has been snagged and torn from low branches which required immediate repair and roof is needing replacement at 7yrs I plan to diy with 40mil EPDM Other repairs have been routine other than adding rollers to the street side slide which started dragging on the vinyl floor (from collapsed wear bar) which should have been factory installed with the weight of kitchen appliances. Unit has had leaks both internal and externally in LCI Level Up system and currently needs piston seal replacement of both forward landing gear struts luckily I have local hydraulic shop to perform FWIW I always wipe down the shafts of rams before operating and apply silicone aresol to prevent corrosion when stored for extended periods, Unit came with 6 GY 614 "G" rated tires which are an upgrade from "E" rated originals I plan to replace with GY Endurance "E" rated when these time out as they look like new with plenty of tread left. Over all I am satisfied with the KS Fuzion 375 but I didn't pay near what it sold for new and hope to get many more years of enjoyment from it as I wouldn't/couldn't afford to pay for a new unit and go thru all the sorting out and rapid depreciation that involves not to mention frustration of dealing with warranty claims.
