2000 5th Wheel reviews

We purchased our 2000 Coachmen Catalina 279SA for three reasons: the open floor plan, the easy towability and overall quality of the trailer. We have not been disappointed! After 20 years of moderate use, we just as happy with the Coachmen today as we were when we first towed it off the lot. If we were to improve one thing, we would replace the carpet with hard surface floors in the main living area. Other than that, we have thousands if mules and years of great memories in the trailer and it's still going strong! Show less

Great 5th wheel with exceptional durability. 23 years and the only repairs I've had to make has been the screens, the kitchen sink and a the vent housing. I did choose to update the interior lighting, the toilet, window coverings and the kitchen backsplash but I redid them because I wanted to not because it was needed. Though a bit heavy, my 6.4 l power stroke still pulls it without issue. This trailer is spacious and well planned to maximize space. And soooo much storage space. There is no space wasted. The bedroom is huge and includes 3 closets and a vanity area. This trailer is SOLID and sturdy and has held up impressively over the years. Show less

Lived in this model for quite some time. It was very good for a couple. Can seem kind of tight some times but very livable with one pet. The rear ET center made it nice. could use more space in the BR area. But overall I would give 4 stars. But would be the ultimate bachelor's pad with a little updating. Show less

We have used it as a weekend cabin in the woods! Only towed once for warranty work! It has been up on blocks since new! Beautiful interior with lots of storage and real oak cabinets! The underbody is fully enclosed! Never had any critters get in! It has 3 slides, queen size couch and 2 rocker recliners, day, night shades! Very well taken care of! Show less

IT'S a great trailer for its age tows real well.very clean everything works Great appearance.has a washer&dryer combo.two propane tanks.couch is a hide bed and recliner.Decals in good shape. on inside.sorroundsound stereo is in it.Queen size bed large closet large shower. Show less

We have had a Jay-co and a Coachman 5th wheel before the Excel. The Excel 5th Wheel was like living in a moveable house and was extremely comfortable with extraordinary quality. Plus it had many extras included in it's interior and exterior design that the other manufacturers did not even consider. Show less

This RV is very spacious and comfortable with lots of storage. It has 5 large windows and 4 smaller windows. The closet in the back is very large with a smaller one above the washer/dryer. There's 2 skylites which add extra lighting. Show less

This model has the best floorplan of any RV I\'ve seen, including late model years. It has more useable counter space than any other model. It was very comfortable with our two teenage boys and easily liveable long term with just my husband and I. When we walk into this coach we feel we are home. Towability? Outstanding! I started towing this rig when I was 61 years old. Drove it halfway across the country and back with absolutely no problems. You won\'t go wrong owning a Montana!! Show less

This RV is a very nice and liveable, It pulls very good and I pull a boat or a tr. behind this RV, with no trouble. It looks good and also very little service needed. We live in it for long periods of time and it's great for fishing / hunting with 4000w onan generater that operates from inside. This is a sound reliable RV. Thanks Show less
