We bought our destination trailer at Camping World in Roseville, Ca. It is July and very hot here. The AC in the kitchen/ living room doesn’t work. We called Camping World and the service person said that “these units only cool 20 degrees cooler than it is outside “. So if it’s 110 outside, the best they do is 90 degrees inside. Thats total BS because the bedroom ac unit is way cooler. Also, they told us if we want it looked at we have to “bring it in”. They should come out as this is a huge unit and it’s parked in the pines. That’s not customer service. We had to go buy a fan while we try to find a mobile RV person to help us.

2016 Sierra 393RL Destination Trailer-A beautiful unit, lot of window, spacious layout, perfect destination home. Unfortunately the rest of the story is not so nice. We opened our unit in May and immediately noticed the dreaded mold smell. Seems like it was coming from the corner of the front slide. Water runs down the slide onto the exterior edge of the floor which is covered with a plastic which has holes due to UV exposure and traps water inside, poor design. While lifting the carpet in the front section under the couch, her foot stepped through the floor, both sides next to the slides are severely rotted. The water is trapped between the flooring where it can sit forever. This is not visible from the interior or exterior unless you were to take the unit apart. Bad design, will be an extremely expensive repair. Would not purchase a Forest River ever again.

I purchased this used from a couple who used it only a few weeks before they decided to buy something else instead. To start, it looks nice. Then once you start using and noticing things, I realized that the quality is terrible! The slider are missing every other screw and the ones in there are all crooked. The water lines all leak. A small piece of wood that was glued to the solid surface counter feel off from hitting a jar of pickles on the top. not even sure why its there and not a solid piece for the whole top. The tv, fireplace and stereo all have electrical issues. I used the oven for the 1st time and melted one of the knobs The Heating system had to be replaced after a year. More to discover I guess. THIS MODEL is only warrantied for 1 year instead of 3 like other models.

The floor plan is everything we wanted. The layout and overall look of the 401 FLX fit our needs well. This is as close to a “ Park Model” that is towable as you can get. The word of caution now is, Where to Purchase, and how well is the Service department you intend to purchase from?. We purchased ours In Monroe Washington from Speedway RV. The main person in the service department has lied to us several times from the date we were to inspect the unit we purchased, and can’t be trusted. The quality of the manufacturing is very questionable. First day on site the cold water connection at the kitchen faucet leaked over night with 30 lbs. water pressure causing a flood at our kitchen cabinet. A call to the RV service department met with a “ That’s to bad, we do not have anyone to fix it, so call a plumber... The very next weekend after paying the plumber 80 dollars to to fix the cold side, the Hot water side had the same issue and another flood. Again a call to Speedway RV service was met with,” we do have a not have a service person for that..” now our cabinet is waterlogged twice, another 80 dollars because the clamps on the waterline were insufficiently clamped. Now We can’t trust any of the waterlines. Long story short, the additional chairs that come with the unit collapsed when guests sat in them. The Range has plastic knobs for turning the oven and burners on, they melted when the oven door has cracked opec to cool when my wife made cookies. The 50 amp electrical system flickered on and off when we walked around. Finally the fireplace went out and the inverter that keeps the battery charged went out. Because the RV Service “Doesn’t have a guy for that” I traced down two outlets that had evidence of arcing, so I replaced them, then went on to discover the factory wiring at the connection between the plug in and the wiring had never been tightened down. The wiring to the trailer was simply pushed into position and not torqued, leaving the wiring loose. Well now this week we have discovered our pantry shelving is warped like a bowel, the fake tile behind the Range is pulling away from the wall and has a bulge, the wood trim at the kitchen pantry is pulling away from the wall from a roof leak. In the bedroom slide out the wood shelf is swollen out of shape, the finish is falling off and there is Mold Growing Under Our Mattress... Want to guess what Speedway RV Service is going to say???

Purcased this brand new. The GOOD: Great floor plan with 5 slide outs and plenty of windows. The BAD: Poorest quality in both manufacturing and quality control. First, the coach came with a max fan in the bathroom and a plain roof vent in the kitchen. No fan and now way of opening it without a ladder. Poor engineering. Rep blames the dealership for ordering it that way. TV and audio system is Connexx. You cannot get a universal remote to operate these units, nor does Directv, Xfinity or ATT Uverse remotes have codes or ability to work these units. It takes three remotes to watch tv if you use any kind of receiver or amazon fire tv remotes. Coach did not come with any stabilizer jacks. Only the front lift jack. When delivered, it felt like we were in a boat. Had to spend $300.00 for stabilizer jacks. Again rep blames dealer, dealer blames Forest River, purchaser gets screwed. Awning pulled out of groove on coach wall about 5 inches when first used. Will have to get that fixed. LR A/C unit did not work. When set to cool, hi, auto, just made a lot of rumbling and then shut down. Service man came and discovered that the unit was wired incorrectly from the factory. He rewired it correctly and fixed it. So much for quality control. The shower insert is not tight to the walls. You can push it in about 3/4 of an inch while using the shower. The screen doors for the sliding glass entries are cheap and do not glide. Have to be careful that they do not fall out when opening them. Overall, we are happy with our purchase however the cost of correcting all of this is over a thousand dollars. Here is a tip to Forest River....use better quality items. I just purchased a tv to replace the Connexx junk...washed out picture and unable to use directv remote. Ordering a fantastic fan for the kitchen. Don't make people climb on a ladder to open a roof fan...at least supply a pole and hook...had to purchase that for the meantime. Advise to anyone purchasing from Forest River...check everything out. TV/s, Audio equipment, appliances, A/C units, shower inserts, shades, roof vents and fans and stabilizer jacks. Use common sense and make sure you go every item with the dealers quality control people.

Beautiful unit. Great Sales Staff. Horrible, Rude, Service management. Service has misled and lied several times (Staci) we do not trust her or the RV Service department at all. Our unit was promised clean and ready several times, that was a lie. We had work performed, that was installed backwards. We had a flood the first time connecting to city water, we have now experienced three water leaks. We have had to call in to an RV service company and pay for it ourselves after calls to Service were unanswered. When finally contacting Staci, her reply “ well you got it handled” was the last straw. Buy the unit but DO NOT expect anything from Service.
