We purchased a 2860DS and have had it for almost 3 years now. We love the outdoor kitchen and have loved the layout inside as well. We have traveled over 13,000 miles and have enjoyed every minute. We plan on more in the next two years. It’s easy being right at 30 ft. To park in a larger parking lot with no problems. Show less

Buying a Forest River product was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. We've had constant issues—starting with the slide-out, which has never worked right, trim falling apart, water leaks, and more. Reaching out to Forest River is useless—they don’t return calls, emails, or show any concern for their customers. When we took our unit in the first time, the tech told us the slide-out hole was cut wrong from the factory. Not long after, that guy was mysteriously gone—seems like he was let go for telling us the truth. Dealers are clearly forced to downplay the problems and claim it’s just an 'adjustment'—but it's a manufacturing defect, plain and simple. Total disappointment. Show less

We bought this RV brand new and almost everything has gone wrong with it. Grey water tank cracked. Hot water and heater both went after only a year. Toilet started running water non stop had to replace it. All the pluming has leaked and had to be fixed. There is so many defects it would take me to long to write them all. This RV is so poor quality I wish we did not buy it. The last straw for me was when our bedroom floor was so soft we thought we were going to fall through. We got the repair guy in and he said it was probably leaking and it would be a 4,000 to repair. When he lifted the floor he found that there was no leak and they had put thin veneer board down. Not meant for floors. Do not buy Forest River you will regret it. Show less

Wolf Pup Black Label edition16FQBL: We LOVE it! Compared to the standard Forest River production units, the "Black Label" edition models really ARE a huge step above in quality, design and features. Easily worth another $3,000 over the standard models. How did we learn this? When my wife and I started looking, two of our couples friends had the standard Wolf Pup models, one was the 'Full Queen' 16FQ and one was the BH 'bunkhouse' layout. We absolutely loved the layout of the 16FQ but its owners were having problems with warranty repairs, and to our eyes things looked and felt cheap. We went looking for a better option with a similar layout to the 16FQ but didn't find anything with as large a bathroom/shower, as big a refrigerator or as much storage space in a small trailer. We'd told several sales people we weren't interested in Forest River 'quality' but one of them said 'have you seen a Black Label? She showed us a used one and we bought it on the spot. Two years later we absolutely LOVE it and our friends are so jealous. We found and fixed a few simple things and struggled with the infamous "Cherokee Sleep System" bed problem (eventually fixed it with five feet of 1x2 strips to raise the lower end, placing them as 'shims' under the attachment brackets) and now we love that too! If you've seen or owned one of the standard production Cherokee Wolf trailers, you won't want to skip over the entire brand till you've seen their Black Label models. My husband and I are completely satisfied with this travel trailer! We love the layout! We have not had any trouble with it. It tracks great. The quality is perfect and exactly what we expected. The fireplace is great, as it heats the whole room. It’s our home away from home. Show less

This camper worked for our family of 3 wonderfully. We drove across the country from Washington to Alabama, used it for hunting season in a snowy Montana and have gone to the beach in Florida multiple times. Those memories have been priceless. I cannot recommend this toy hauler enough! Show less

We bought new from dealer about 200 miles from our house, big mistake. Terrible to get anything done. Between the lying from the dealer and the poor workmanship of the dealer it was bad enough that we did the small stuff ourselves. As for the trailer it’s self, we love it. The biggest problem we have with it and the factory said it’s the way it’s supposed to be is, it is the worst insulated trailer that we have ever owned. Factory build sheet says R38 in the floor and ceiling. We had to remove some of the underbelly, to our surprise the insulation is no more than 1 1/2" thick in places and was missing about 2ft all together. Started looking at the rest of the coach, no wonder we can’t stay warm. Factory said out of warranty don’t care. Called the factory, was told this straight from the horses mouth. Based off my production manager's and what he stated, the correct insulation is installed. R-7 is used in the floor, based off what he stated. There can be different thickness measurements. Poor materials and quality. Outrageous prices for terrible workmanship and nothing but problems from the second you drive off the lot. Horrendous, unresponsive customer service, zero accountability and zero reimbursement for major defects. Screw customer over with faulty products. RV sits at the repair shop the entire first year under manufactured warranty, with all sorts of problems that they don't bothering fixing. They don't pay repair shops enough money to do their recalls either, customer has to come out of pocket on those too. Nothing but a money pit. RV dealers only want to sell and promise to do warranty work, use it as a selling point, but when you try bringing in your broken RV they turn you down claiming FR doesn't pay them enough to cover their work $/hour. We bought the fifth wheel from Camping World in Tampa. It was a three-hour drive to the park. The kitchen slider would not extend. The nut for the rod was off. After opening by hand I was ready to go. Hooked to water up and every fitting was leaking. Camping World said make an appointment to make repairs. They would send a Tech. but I would have to pay for the Tech to come out. I made the repairs myself. I would think twice before dealing with either company. Show less

We love this trailer. The interior height was a huge draw for us since we're a tall family, tallest being 6'4" with no issues walking around inside. We were most interested in boondocking and the set up was perfect for this. The dual access and higher clearance was a huge draw for overall stability for off road sites and longer road trips. The solar panel and huge clean, grey and black tanks allowed us to stay out longer without having to dumpf. The residential queen bed allowed us to put a real queen mattress on the bed to maximize our comfort. The bunks have been great for our kids. This trailer has so much storage space inside, we never maxed it out. Ample space for food, clothes, toys and linens. The kitchen is small but anything bigger would have taken away from living space and added more weight to the trailer. We love this trailer. It does not disappoint. And having issues with warranty and Forest River or dealerships is common among all trailers. When we purchased, we did a full inspection with an independent inspector. They found a major defect in the slide out window. The dealership fixed it before we took ownership. But we know trailers are not built like cars as someone else mentioned. The quality isn't excellent in order to keep the weight of the trailer low. But the interior aesthetic was pleasing to us and any flaws are minor. Any work we've had done in the 3 years we've owned the trailer has been done by us or an independent contractor as we don't want to wait for warranty and dealership wait times. That said, we haven't had any warranty failures on our trailer. This is a great trailer that allows us access to the outdoors while also providing us the comforts of home. Great for full hook ups or dispersed camping. You can have it all in this trailer. Show less
