Have had our Sandpiper 368FBDS for two years. Overall we are satisfied with the unit. One thing that has been troublesome is the wiring and poor quality of the LED lights. The light over our dining table burned out within 6 months. Service man found a short in the wiring of one of the switches. Subsequently three of the ceiling light fixtures have burned out and the light over the dining table has been replaced twice.

I purchased a 5th wheel from Gander RV Outdoor in Marion Illinois. When I found the floor plan and size I liked I asked the salesman (Beau) if this unit is a 4 season unit. I told him I live in central Illinois and "I am looking for a 5th wheel that I can live in the entire year. I need a 4 season unit." Is this unit a four season unit"? His response was yes sir it is. He began pointing all the features that he said made it a 4 season unit, Heated Holding Tanks, Heated under belly. After I bought the unit I called Forest River and they informed me I cannot expect to stay in the unit below 32 degrees without the pipes freezing. They told me it "is not a 4 seasons camper". This was just the beginning of the lies that were told to me just to get a sale. Prior to taking delivery I purchased from the store a upgraded toilet and washer/dryer to be installed. I also did a walk around with the service technician and identified items that needed to be repaired and or replaced. The tech made a list It took 4 weeks to receive and install the washer/dryer. Gander RV called me and said that my RV was ready for pick up. When I arrived I asked specifically for the service tech that I had worked with when I did the walk around. I asked him "did the items on our list get repaired"? He looked me in the eye and said yes sir. I asked who worked on it. He said "I did". I asked him where is the list he told me "I do not know", "it must be with the other paper work". I told him "I remember what was on the list let's take a look." Item #1) the side door was bent, #2) several window shades would not work (retract), #3) exterior trim screws were missing. There were other items on the list and none of them were done. I looked at the service tech said "you lied to me, none of the items are done are they" he said "no". I asked to see the service manager. He said they would get right on it. They proceeded to pull one door after the next from other units to replace the bent door and they all had loose hinges that would not allow the door to close properly. I was told they would have to order a door from the factory. I still have window shades that will not go up and down properly, electrical fan switch that does not work that was on the list. They installed the wrong toilet that I purchased extra. This they did finally replace. I pulled the unit home and parked it to live in. The rear air conditioner does not function properly. Now of all things the grey water and black water holding tanks fell out. This camper was just sitting there and if fell out. It pulled all of the plumbing loose. I cannot live in this unit. So far the contacts I have made with the Forest River and with Gander RV Outdoor have yielded no assistance. The additional service agreements that were purchased have yielded nothing to this point. My recommendation is to never buy Forest River products and do not buy from Gander RV. Neither company cares about what they sell, neither company will stand behind the product they sell. There is no engineering behind the Forest River product. They used a 1" x 3/4" strip of plywood to support two holding tanks that static weight when full weighs well over 500 pounds. What else did they under design to save money? DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS unless you have plenty of money to throw away.
