We have owned our Rockwood Roo 235S for over a year now and have used it at least 10 times. If it is a hybrid you're looking for, look no further. This unit is the best equipped, user friendly trailer that we could've hoped for. With the unobstructed floor plan, once you open up the end bedrooms it feels like a 30' unit. The fit and finish is great and the amenities are plenty. With both an inside and outside kitchen that each have a refrigerator/freezer and a burner stove not to mention the outside detachable gas griddle, you will be the hub of your group outings as meal preparation is a breeze. The bathroom is well appointed with adequate storage. The entertainment center is remarkable with everything you could want with the 43" flat screen that swings out to reveal more storage, Bluetooth capabilities for both inside and outside speakers. The faux fireplace is a nice touch and provides enough heat on a cold night. The outside TV mount is perfect. While storage is somewhat limited by the fact that it is a hybrid, it has been maximized by the design engineers. The Bluetooth controls for the slide-out and awning work flawlessly. The mattresses are heated and fans and AC vents keep you cool at night. The mattresses like any fold down bed are a bit thin but we added foam toppers that remedied that. The only other thing I would've wished for would've been electric leveling jacks but me cordless drill with a 3/4" socket does just fine. All in all, I can't recommend this trailer enough. Shop around as some dealers are more greedy than others but you will not be disappointed with your purchase.

I have owned this motorhome since I bought it new in 2019. I have driven it from Seattle to Disney World, and to the national parks of Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and many places in between. I have 37k miles on it and have lived in it since shortly after I bought it. As far as manufacturing and assembly, all the important pieces work well except for the refrigerator. When it was a few months old, we had a torrential rainstorm in Salt Lake City and the refrigerator outside panel was not installed properly. As a result water poured into the refrigerator workings and it was damaged. After warranty repair, it works acceptably but ice cream will get a little soft in very hot weather. Other than that, a few small trim pieces in the coach were not installed correctly. I have had no other issues with the generator, the furnace, the two wonderful air conditioners, and the three TV's which are Furion. They have excellent pictures and one is very large. I tow a Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk behind it and it does fine. I have had no suspension work on it and I find it very controllable. The only time I get white knuckles is when I am going over a narrow bridge with opposing traffic. The motorhome is wider than some of the lanes on county roads and it is tight on some state highways. I read about people who have all kinds of trouble but I think it is just like buying anything, some people are not lucky, and some people are. I replaced the king mattress that came with it with a memory cell mattress, and I sleep very well in it. I have two big dogs, and they have plenty of room to stretch out. I love my FR3 and it works great as a home I can go almost anywhere in. I would highly recommend it for its relatively low price and its reliability, as well as its comfort.

We love this RV. Very good quality from Rockwood to where we would definitely consider buying another rockwood (all enclosed bunkhouse TT) in the future. We simply outgrew the room only 2 beds offer. Pros for such a small trailer it has excellent inside storage and minimal carpet is a great feature (huge wardrobe and linen closets!!) with little ones. Also the counter space (behind sink and oven used to store weekend items like coffee pot, drinks, etc.) is excellent in this size trailer. Easy to hook up and easy to tow, back etc. We only had a large SUV and it got well within its towing capabilities but the weight distribution hitch was definitely needed to prevent the swat effect at the hitch. The downside is that with great interior storage there has to be some drawbacks and the outside store is definitely lacking on this one. You can definitely store all the essentials like the blocks, sewer equipment, water, power cords etc. needed on the outside storage cubbies but that’s about it. All of our other camping supplies chairs, patio rug, coolers, etc had to go inside the trailer during transit.

We bought this trailer in August of 2018, and have had 3 good seasons of camping in it. We love the floor plan. The slide out gives us so much livable space in the middle of the trailer. The overall length is only 22'10", but it feels much larger due to the beds folding out on each end. The quality of Rockwood is so good, the trailer is light and solid. We use an anti-sway hitch that tows extremely stable. We like to boondock, so even without electric hook-ups, we have full use of hot water, lights, fans, furnace, fridge, and power slides. We have a solar unit to recharge our 2 deep cycle batteries. We have slept 6 in our trailer with plenty of room and comfort, 5 adults and 1 child. The A/C unit and furnace kept us comfortable in all weather. The trailer is easy to maneuver, and back into smaller campsites. Set up and take down is quick and easy. We love our Roo! We are trading up to a unit with a separate bedroom.

Black water lasts about (4) days for me and (5) girls. The fridge has enough room for both food and beer. Great value.

We absolutely love the roominess of our Roo 183 when all the rooms are down. Most nights we don't have to run the AC, just zip down the sides and let the nightly breeze do its thing. When visiting other campers we feel cramped inside their rigs in comparison. Most of our visitors marvel at the size of the fridge and the openness in the bathroom compared to theirs. However we have had some issues. The filter right inside city water inlet came with a cracked case. This should have been detected at the dealer at initial purchase but they claimed that their hose was cut and ... Anyway, the location of the filter is not the best and I decided to remove it from the system and install a dedicated one under the sink. Didn't really see the sense of filtering the water that ends up not being ingested (>90%). Also had issues with dripping connections to the kitchen faucet. Again, should have been detected (see above). I ended up replacing the factory faucet with a Delta one and used pex line with Sharkbite fittings and all good there. We recently tried to use the oven for the first time and it won't light. The closest Forest River dealer would not honor the warranty and wanted us to pay up front and then send the receipt to the dealer where we purchased the unit for reimbursement. As this didn't sound promising, and our little use of the oven anyway, we decided to forego the expense. Finally, we are having issues the CO2 alarm going off - haven't gotten that one figured out yet but am not too concerned since it goes off even when we power up without anything being turned on - or the propane tanks open. It seems like I have a lot of complaints about our Roo, but we have put over 6000 milers on it and really do love it. We have checked out many other units as we traveled around, and pretty much both agree that if we would have a chance to do it all again we would still buy the Roo - but from a local dealer, not drive to a huge retailer to get the best price.

This camper-Forest River- 2017 Roo 21ss is our first camper coming from a tent! Huge upgrade. Very easy to tow with Ford f150. No issues with camper and no leaks! Had it poly coated upon purchase and have used wax wash products to clean and fiberglass stays clean! The heavy duty AC will freeze you out even in the bunks if you want it that cold. Manufacturer and dealer were very helpful with our questions being first time RVers. Every couple I have talked to with older and newer Roos love theirs. The big attraction being you still get the tent feel with the convenience of a hard shell camper. Next time I won’t get the internal water filter as we don’t drink from the camper. If you want to watch a lot of TV you can also get satellite for remote area like Michigan’s UP!
