When my mom told me she was downsizing to the stationary RV life, I thought she was crazy! She googled everything she could find and at the end of her search, nothing would do but this Forest River Rockwood Windjammer 3001W. She sang its praises (the closet! the storage! the big back window!). If was easy to set up and use. No cramped spaces, no hard to reach maintenance areas. She finally found one and brought it home - to live in our big metal barn. She pulled all the furniture out, replaced the boxy RV curtains with rods and pretty curtains (did you know you could do that?!?) and moved in all her pretty furniture. Took about a week before you could sit in her living room and chat while you watched the deer through that big back window. It was perfect. My two kids want to visit? Fine - there was plenty of room for them to play. My brother wanted to visit? He can stand up straight inside, and he's a big guy. Have to admit, I was a little envious of her little personalized paradise... She's downsized a little more to an independent living facility where someone else cooks and cleans for her, so her RV is looking for it's new owner. Wish I could talk my husband into it...it would make quite a she-shed... I can think of all kinds of people that would love this layout. Single adventurers, a couple looking to retire, college kid wanting to live on a budget, ranch hand, guest house - this was a great RV with it's original layout and furniture - opening it up and putting your own "real" stuff in it was even cooler. Definitely recommend this model.

I love the floor plan and that it has 2 exit/entrance doors and 2 AC units. The pop-outs make it even larger in the living/dining area and the bedroom. Everything works well, stove, fridge, microwave, TV, stereo, plumbing, heating, cooling. All the windows have nice window coverings. Of course lots of storage helps too. The Diamond package warranty is transferrable and covers brakes, suspension, chassis, water heater, waste system, fresh water system, air conditioning, gas/propane system, heating, refrigerator, aux generator, range/oven, slide-out boot, slide-out rooms and flat panel tv.

We lived in this trailer for a year and a half while building our house and found it to be very comfortable and durable. The cabinets were beautiful and there were plenty of them. The pantry was large and could accommodate tons of food and pots and pans. We did reinforce the shelves in the pantry in order to hold the weight of a large amount of can goods etc. The king sized bed was super comfortable. There were two large closets in the bedroom plus two large drawers under the bed as well as further storage under the bed that had access from the outside as well. We kept our laundry basket and other large supplies under there. The bathroom also had two linen closets with enough room to hold towels, sheets, first aid and personal products. We had one issue with the carbon monoxide tester that was too sensitive and went off for no reason. Also the bathroom was a walk thru so sometimes that was inconvenient. Overall we were extremely happy with our purchase. When we had issues with the tv and a stool the dealer took great care of us. We lived far from the dealer so they mailed things to us.

One screw in some cabinet doors that had holes for two. Cover on undercarriage falling off! Linen closet staples did not hold the wall, coming off. Rear steps bent badly and rear fender never touched the ground?? Shoddy workmanship and no QUALITY CONTROL. Loved the layout, but would never recommend this company. We had a Keystone for ten years and none of these issues!!

We have enjoyed RVing in the 2014 Windjammer 3001W for the past three years. We have traveled about 11-12,000 miles with it and had no issues at all. What we liked about it the day we saw it was the very spacious living area and even the bedroom had a LOT of walking/dressing space unlike so many others we had seen. The huge closet, 8-drawer dresser, and underbed storage drawers were wonderful on long trips. The kitchen was laid out so that two people could actually work to cook meals. These Windjammers are built very well with fit and finish expected in much more expensive units; the cabinets are solid wood fronts with a great finish. The two AC units keeps it cool even when we were in Las Vegas and it was 106! Great travel trailer or weekend warrior for a couple.

The undercarriage is so weak, that if one person walks aroud the entire unit shakes. The AC is so LOUD you cannot watch TV or have a conversation. These have been issues with this unit for years and they have done NOTHING. Sorry we did not research better.

Purchase new and have used the trailer four times. Kitchen drawers tracks wood support are not robust and wood is broken. Shower door not square and has torn the lower seat once. Attachment of stop for pocket closet door has come off, stop appears to not b e attached to anything solid. Concerned that may have problems after warranty. My wife and I are in older and have not used the unit hard. Would have hard time recommending this unit to someone else.
