2023 Forest River reviews

One day after the camper was set on our permanent spot we noticed the floor was separating. My husband called the dealer and someone came to look at it. The only thing that the warranty would allow for repairs was to sand the plywood section that was sticking up. The repair man said that the plywood was actually breaking apart, but Salem won’t replace it. We now have two other spots in our floor that are doing the same thing. In addition to this, the shelving in the pantry is falling apart and the shelves are falling. We only have spices on these shelves. This camper is a year old. Disappointed in the quality of this camper, and incredibly disappointed in the lack of cooperation with the warranty. Show less

In the middle of January 22nd, 2024, I purchased a 2023 Heritage Glen LTZ 270FKS 820 From Bish’s RV in meridian Idaho. Right off the bat I found 19 things wrong with the Trailer: These items are: Hole and bubbling above the pantry door Kitchen drawers fell out when pulled (drawers fell because the back studs for the drawer rail brackets are not attached) Side support board for the drawers also not attached panel under the refrigerator was secured leaving a half inch crooked gap Trim around the large bubble window above kitchen sink fell off while towing home five miles away on city streets Main brace underneath bed split and not attached Back plate behind the stove not attached just lying loose All pull down blinds have Velcro tabs on the bottom bar of the blinds but nothing on the walls to attach them too (only half done) Blinds crooked on the two narrow windows in the bedroom Broken latch on refrigerator door Hinges for the storage doors underneath dining table benches loose and floating back and forth Trim around the pantry sagging and loose (no adhesive) lens cover on running lights missing Wires not wrapped or secured on electric jack by hitch Access panel door on bedroom slide out warped Shower door seal fell off when opening door Magnetic plate for bedroom door installed on a diagonal (all others level to the floor) Panel under the sink only attached on one side Keyhole on front door pried and bent (probably not manufacturing) These are the items I found in the first three hours of possession and this morning I took it back to the dealership. I talked to the Director of service, Bish's RV in Meridian Idaho and showed him the issues I had, in which he documented and took possession of for immediate service, and I asked him to go through the whole RV to find the things I didn't find, (which scares me). So, I guess what my questions is where do we go from here, what is going to be done about this situation, I paid close to $50,000.00 for your product and the condition of the RV does not reflect that, (was it built on a Friday?). I sent an email to Bish’s and Forest River with this list of problems on Jan 23rd to Bish’s and Forest River, in which Bish’s took back the trailer and submitted it for warranty work. I’ve nbeen trying to resolve these issues for months now and more things are going wrong: The air conditioner ducting was not connected, and all the cold air was coming out from under the kitchen sink The one and only camping trip we went on the 11nth of April, we had to keep the speed of my towing below 50mph because the back of the trailer swayed wildly, (and it never did that before) This trailer has been in the shop more than out of the shop, and the kicker is Idaho doesn’t have an RV lemon Law. I have hade several issues with the Sandpiper 401 that I bought last year. The black water tank has been leaking since I bought the trailer., and is still leaking . The wall in the bedroom came loose from the studs. The awning arm was broken. The backsplash in the kitchen came loose from the wall. The screen door on the sliding door was 5 “ too short. The trailer is used as a summer home and is in a pole barn. I am currently dealing with the smell of the black water tank leaking in my floor. The dealer has been here 5 times to deal with it and the last time they were hear the installed a new one. It is leaking just as bad, and the wall is coming loose from the studs in the hall. Bought a brand new unit unfortunately in the middle of winter in MN. This is the worst RV for quality ever. Nothing worked. Plumbing in the back bathroom wasn’t finished, rotting wood in the other bathroom, bunk pieces falling out, AC in the front has never worked properly, side walls in the bedrooms are all flexing and making noise, sawdust all over the place, fridge didn’t come with a water drip tray, cabinets above the seats bottom are all falling out, the bunks ceiling wasn’t nailed up right, the shades not put on right, you can feel bumps under the laminate where is wasn’t cleaned before installed, back tv was installed broken, scratches all over the sinks in the bathrooms, jacks didn’t work right, front seat motor didn’t work couldn’t move it. This whole unit is just junk. Now the slides don’t go out. I just want my money back. This has to be a lemon. Show less

We purchased a Forest River Sierra 3440BH In June of 2023, New never been used and some areas still had the fresh smell of new. We loved the floor plan, as we have 2 teenagers, and about to have our first grandchild from 1 of our boys, so it certainly will work for sleeping arrangements. Now for the best part, got it home and winterized it as camping season was over for us. We hooked up the propane and kept the tank heaters on and keep the indoor temp at 55 degrees. In March we de-winterized and begin to set things up for camping season. Well we found a lest of 19 items that were warranties' and the list goes on. To start the trim is peeling off the cabinets, screen doors are broke, toilets leaked water, sinks leak, bed trim fell off, black tank valve is stuck shut (can not use read bath room at all due to leaks and toilet/ tank), always smell like sewer, awing is falling off, curtains put on awkward or uneven, NO BRAKES! If i was to guess i would say a bunch of 5 year old put this camper together, unfortunately for us we can not take the camper back for LEMON LAWS as the do not apply. But this thing has to spend at least 2-3 months at the dealership to get repairs done for the warranty to work, all the parts have to come from the dealership. I WOULD NEVER IN THE REST OF MY GRANDCHILDS LIFETIME RECOMMEND THIS BRAND TO ANYONE PERIOD. Show less

We bought the unit new in 2023. First thing that went wrong was the water heater didn’t work. The dealer was able to get Forest River to provide a different brand (Subruban). This was our first experience with an on demand water heater. If we had to do it over again we would chose a regular water heater. The main entry door never did work correctly (still doesn’t) even though the dealer fixed it 3 times. Still doesn’t work right. On our trip back from Michigan (after the door had been fixed) It came open on the highway even though it was locked and the large handle was closed over it! The current trip we are on is to Florida and now the sliding door hinge to the bedroom came off while traveling and the door screws are stripped. We are veteran rv’rs and have had many different types and brands of rv’s/travel trailers over the years and the East/West is the worst. We would never buy this brand again. Show less

We loved the Flagstaff 25BRDS. It was a great first trailer for us and our family. We loved the double bunks and also the pass through door under the bunks was very convenient. The Murphy bed was also convenient because it gave us the extra seating when we needed it. The automatic stabilizers were also a huge bonus along with the slide toppers. Overall it was a great trailer and definitely recommend. Show less

What piece of garbage. Yes, there are thing I like compared to the one I traded in, but discovered this one is cheaply made. The entry wall is not even straight. Oh well. Guess I got the lemon. But, I don't recommend...there are others out there built better with better warranty service. Show less

This floor plan is great for families or if you want to have a separate office space to work remotely. This camper sleeps 9 easily and comfortably. The higher BTU units (2) keeps the camper nice and cold on those warmer days. The garage storage is huge. Also love the 2 refrigerators and ice maker in the outdoor kitchen. The fireplace in the living room can be set to look pretty, but also can be used as a heat source, wonderful on the chilly nights. The control panel's ability to work with the app on your phone is very handy, can check your tank levels, battery levels, control awnings and all the lights. We also enjoy the solar panel which charges the batteries. Highly recommend this camper! Show less

Love the design and setup of the trailer but good lord the quality of the plumbing and electrical is just horrible the electrical doesn't have enough power the kitchen and bunk is all run together I use the bunk room as an office so I can't run my computers and coffee pot at the same time or it pops the breaker. But the real problem is the plumbing is just garbage if it has a o ring on it... it has leaked day 1 the shower leaked then the bathroom sink. Then both the toilets connectors leaked then if it hits 40 degrees the hot water heater tries taking a nap. I'm honestly going to trade this thing off I got a new one to avoid this stuff but it's a nightmare of water problems Show less
