2021 Forest River reviews

The 2021 Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite 2511S has been an excellent RV value. The rear-bathroom and front-bedroom floor plan makes for the perfect couples trailer. Two slide-outs: bedroom closet and entertainment center dual recliners. Super comfortable queen-sized bed. It travels well over the road—and because it’s so light (5,492 lbs. dry weight)—you can take it on long road trips without staggering fuel bills. Some people have commented about quality . of various features are built and outfitted on Forest River RVs, and I do understand that point of view. However, my experience with my 2021 Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite 2511S has not been degraded by low-quality components, design, or workmanship. This RV is well-made and built for affordability. If you’re in the market for a fun, comfortable RV in the $30K to $40K price range, I recommend you look at the 2021 Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite 2511S travel trailer. Show less

is the fourth camper I've owned? I'm not very impressed with it. Some of the cupboard doors in the bunkhouse portion don't shut in the master bedroom. The outlet is coming out of the wall and in the kitchen there's one that is loose as well. There is absolutely no cupboard space for dishes! I honestly didn't realize that until after I got it and tried to put dishes away. No cupboards. There is the most ridiculous door in the master bedroom. It's always in the way. There's no room in the master bedroom to change clothes or to barely walk through it. Show less

This floor plan is crazy spacious for such a small travel trailer. When you put the bed it, you have so much space to visit and walk around. At night, when you do not plan on having any more visitors, you put your bed down and you can tuck away for the night. Even with such a small travel trailer, you still get an acceptable passthrough storage, a tall outdoor storage, and an outdoor storage under the dinette. You have plenty of counter space, especially with the fold up extension. This is a quality build and built before COVID. The light hitch weight and overall weight make it a great little travel trailer to tow with a large SUV or 1/2 ton pick up. If you need more storage, put a rack on the back, and you are good to go. We purchased this 5th Wheel brand new. This review will look at the Flagstaff from the overall quality and secondly one major flaw that's a problem with most RVs. From the perspective of overall quality we are very happy. So many quality features in the construction.... USA made Dexter Axles w/ self adjusting brakes, Magic Chef Stove/range top, 5/8 plywood floor (glued down), stainless steel sinks...... so much more. Now for the big negative... within the first dozen and a half times in and out the Schwintek slide broke on the 7' long kitchen . With such a small slide it was obvious poor quality of the Schwintek design. We replaces it at our own expense of $1,700. Within another 2 dozen times in and out the slide failed again.. Though I contemplated repairing it and selling the 5th wheel, because of the overall quality of the Flagstaff line of RVs, I decided to have the Schwintek system completely replaced with a Vroom Slide System. So sad to see such a very high quality RV incorporate such an absolutely poor quality slide system. Would I buy another Flagstaff ? Because of the overall quality I would probably say yes. However in negotiating the price I would keep in mind the need to immediately replace any Schwintek systems with a Vroom System. Schwintek is common on many brands of RVs. In my opinion it is a weak link in any RV. Show less

This RV is perfect for full time rving or taking for a great summer vocation. It sleeps 4 and can carry a small razor side by side, motorcycle, dirt bikes, mini quad, golf cart and much more. Must see to appreciate! There’s a big screen tv with great speakers outside for entertaining and 2 tvs inside. The tankless water heater is awesome, you never run out of hot water!! Show less

After visiting 49 of the 50 States and travelling some 140K we downsized from a Winnebago diesel pusher Tour 40 Ft. to the Forest River Forester 3011 DSF which is 32.5 Ft. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised the way this RV handled and towed our Ford Focus car. We have driven over 16K with the rig and it has been a problemless experience after the initial shakedown when we had to replace the 12v fridge and automatic jack module.. The rig is comfortable to live in and with all the ameneties of the more expensive class A RV's. Unfortunately my wife is in ill health and will be unable to travel anymore and that is the reason why we are selling. Alas all good things have to come to an end. Show less

I am very disappointed in the quality of the Cherokee grey wolf 27rr. When I bought it the water tank was shipped out with a crack in it so we could not boondock on our first trip. Then within a year the slide out had broken luckily under warranty. It is now about 2-1/2 years old and there is a ton of water under the dinette which will be coming out of our pocket to have fixed. I like the layout we chose but for the price, I have towed it to be fixed as many times as it has been out camping. I know the factory warranty is 1 year but I would like to think you should get a couple years of camping with no issues. I also think that a leak like this should be covered by the factory. A car that is driven daily has a better warranty Show less

Our Work & Play toy hauler obviously works really well for taking our Polaris XP-1000 RZR side-by-side out to the desert or mountains for riding, especially since it has a 30-gallon fuel station built into it. I was always uncomfortable with carrying gas cans inside our previous older to hauler. That being said, the toy hauler does have 2 built-in vents; one that draws in outside air toward the front and one toward the rear that expels the air. The little secret about toy haulers is that they work great for "regular" camping since they are very roomy. We've used it many times for camping trips, and we took it to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons last year and it was great! Unlike many toy haulers that have a bed in one corner of the main area, this one has a separate bedroom on a slide-out adjacent to a large bathroom with a large shower. Being a toy hauler it also has a 98-gallon fresh water tank! We put the patio kit on ours, which makes the ramp into an outdoor patio area, separated by a wide screen to keep bugs out. This is great for BBQ'ing so we didn't have to go up and down the steps each time we needed something from the kitchen. One minor downside to this toy hauler is that it is 8.5 feet wide, so visibility in hindered a bit along the sides of the trailer. However, I equipped ours with a wireless camera and screen which I clip onto the mirror in our truck so it's natural to look at it for a good view of the road behind. The 21LT only weighs 5928 lbs empty (UVW), so it is easily towed by a half ton truck that is geared appropriately. Gas mileage suffers though as the trailer is both wide and tall. Finally, we used a Blue Ox Sway Pro weight distribution hitch which does an amazing job controlling sway, and is also very quiet compared to the friction type hitches. Note that I rated the factory warranty / support as 3-stars based on experience with a previous new Forest River trailer we had bought. We bought this toy hauler used and did not have to used Forest River for any repairs. Show less

Our experience has been very good. It has enough room for a couple of grandboys and a dog. The open concept of the living area allows us to move around while food prep and lounging around. It really works for us as a pair of retirees and a dog, failing eyesight is not going to allow us to continue to travel safely. This 5th wheel is great for retirees or a small family, as it has 2 slide outs and a simple control panel for managing the various components of the trailer. Its setup uses auto leveling control and large, heated water tanks, which makes it sturdy and livable. Inside the trailer is a 50” TV/Entertainment System and an awesome electric fireplace, which gives off great heat and provides an awesome fireplace view. The RV comes with a 23” Blackstone griddle which hooks up on the outside, as well as a TV hookup. The trailer comes with containerized water and waste hoses and connections. Will provide great camping experience, especially for the novice. Show less
