*I looked at many other options and was surprised when I found the 27SGS. I did not want a bigger truck, my 3/4 ton handles it well.
The quality overall is very good, normal minor things.
Just like a new home or car, there has been a couple of cosmetic items, but actually LESS than my previous “name” rv or truck. Far less.
I have never seen or bought anything new that did not have something a little bigger than cosmetic, that needed to be addressed/repaired. Unfortunately, I have one (ONLY ONE). The response has been professional thus far and I am appreciative.
My overall experience has not been negative or what we see about the rv industry on TV thus far.
My experience to date is very good. I would recommend the Cougar 27SGS to anyone looking for a quality half ton fifth wheel.
At the moment- I cant expect a more professional response and pleasant experience. Alverado,Tx.
floor plan and living space is very livable-
*some of the non cosmetic features that Keystone has now made standard are impressive, ex- solar, Suspension upgrades, Insulation in front, auto leveling. *Really cold weather came after taking possession- front cap was at room temp during very high cold winds. Insulation was obviously there as sold to me…Overall value appears consistent. Surprised with amount storage, as I moved items in.
*bedroom storage would serve better if small wardrobe cabinets-on each side of bed were a lil bit deeper, to fit a wardrobe bar and hangers.
I do have a couple of normal punch list items- but they have been acknowledged as expected.
I have only towed it twice to date and it was easier to hook up than a bumper pull.
Spent aprx 16 nights in rv to date. I would definitely recommend the Cougar 27SGS
I was cautiously optimistic at start, the Cougar 27SGS was one of the last rvs I looked at.
The after the sale support has been as sold to me thus far.
Ive seen ownership after the sale. I rarely see that.
I am pleased with all to date.
The 2022 Cougar 27SGS was a pleasant find.

I would give quality a zero if possible. I give livability a 1 because of the constant repair of poor workmanship in assembly. This Keystone in not just cheaply built is has some of the shoddist workmanship I have ever experienced in any product I have purchased. The bad workmanship is hidden so you don't see it until things start falling apart after the warranty expires. Just some Exp: The inside control panel mount hole was cut too big so the screws split out the thin paneling and the controller falls off the wall and has to have a backing plate installed to fix. Wires come loose from bad crimp connectors. Kitchen drawers inside frame attachment falls down because 1/4" of a tapered thread will not hold in particle board, maybe some glue on the board along with screws would have held longer. Kitchen table frame falls apart built same as drawer attachment, no glue with very short tapered screw threads. Bed frame also. Window shade raise and lower string mount screws fall out of the wall, needs a screw insert to ever stay fastened. Found ground wire not connected. Sofa will bounce around and damage slide out trim and trailer flooring, needs a tie down of some kind. This is just some of my issues with a my Keystone 5th Wheel. Needless to say I will never own another Keystone product and I would strongly recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing a Keystone product to look for another manufacturer. Quality does not seem to be a part of there build process.

We went with the 27sgs 5th wheel because we really liked the look and floor plan (especially the full shower and storage in bathroom). The living space is very open and the kitchen has a lot of storage for a camper!
CONS-The electric fire place has never worked and is mounted into the entertainment center. Flipping breakers doesn't help. We would have to tear the whole thing out to try and see whats wrong. The central heat also doesn't work, only blows room temperature air, regardless of if its on gas or electric. Not even 6 months in and the molding has come loose in some places on the ceiling so its not like a high traffic area that we could have caused. Our wardrobe door just came unglued from the frame one day when my husband opened it. The handle and middle part just slid right off. Not long after one of the drawer faces in the closett did the same. I know campers are made with lighter materials than a house but we aren't particularly rough on it and try to take care and make repairs. There is no explanation for the fireplace and heat to not work and no one has been able to help us.

The doors of the small tables beside the recliners cannot open fully (poor design), and the support of the sliding bathroom door quickly broke making the door no longer secure during travel. I like the smaller size of the rv, but, unless the newer models have corrected those annoyances, I would look at other rvs if I was shopping again.

Like stairs entrance very solid. Light on steps and easy chairs, TV and fireplace are great. Deep sinks and kitchen faucet nice. I have more counter space. 4 kitchen drawers Bathroom large shower bedroom closet needs side cabinets with selves.
Dislikes kitchen cabinets only have one self and you can only reach the bottom shelf no pantry no place for cereals cans or anything. Even pot area is under sink. Very little built in selves. Molding all over falls off little staples Refrigerator makes noise. Air conditioner runs 24 hrs when hot and you can’t hear TV. Awning doesn’t work tech on phone can’t fix. Computer brain a pain in butt.
Made poorLy. design Poor they need to hire women engineers to lay out kitchen. Over all not a happy camper.
