2018 Keystone Toy Hauler reviews

So, sorry for the long review. We have a 2018 Keystone Raptor toy hauler that had a major weld break while driving down the highway that SHOULD NOT break. This weld attaches the hanger to the body of the unit. The axle is attached to the hanger. When the weld broke, the one side of the axle shifted forward and two of the tires rubbed together causing grooves down to the cords. This is a KNOWN problem and Keystone did some recalls but said our unit was not in the recall. We contacted our extended warranty company who said it was a defect not covered and we needed to contact the manufacturer. We contacted Keystone and of course the said they would not cover this and we needed to contact the manufacturer of the axle/hanger. Keystone said we were just outside our warranty period for the structure. This did not make sense as the manufacturer is not the one who welds this part to the unit. I contacted them anyway and was correct in the fact that they did not do the weld. In the beginning I asked who did the weld and Keystone refused to tell me. Once the manufacturer declined coverage I once again asked who did the weld. They finally told me. We will be reaching out to that company. Bottom line is that Keystone has horrible customer service and does not stand behind its product. They should own up to this and pay the relatively nominal amount to reimburse us what monies we are out. We are not asking for anymore than what we spent. If we need to get into a legal battle we will and it will cost them so much more than $1200-$1500 we are currently seeking. So many companies these days wasting money, a decline in customer service and honestly not caring. I had posted on FB however, they have chosen to take down my review and block me from contacting them. How petty for such a large company. Show less

We bought this unit new in 2018. Since we realized, the unit was built by monkeys. A year into this unit we had to replace the roof, auto level, and various light fixtures, fridge controls, and the exterior panels. When I try to get work done, my experience has been, that the dealer takes 6-12 months just to get the unit in to repair. Of course that might allow So called warranty to expire so they make money. Other companies have repaired the unit, but takes a small miracle to warranty ro recognize the work! If I had to do over, I would buy something else, definitely not a keystone unit of any kind. This is the worst built trailer I have owned and would not recomend anyone to but it workmanship is so poor and the dealer or the company would do anything about it. It would be easier to tell you what was good on the trailer then all thats wrong . I have pictures and details if anyone wants to see Show less

Overall a good RV that we have used for long term trips. We enjoy ours and look forward to many more years. Would be glad to answer any questions about the trailer, we are enjoying our time in ours. Come and join us.... Show less

Great floor plan with very comfortable living area. Relax in front of the fireplace on chilly nights or kick back and watch TV if you are down with the outdoors for the day. Large refrigerator and large pantry reduces the number of trips to the grocery store. Rear bedroom/toy room used more as an office and music room. Deck is great for relaxing without having to worry about steps down to the ground or the dog getting loose. Plenty of storage inside and underneath. Show less

Bought a used 2018 240URS in November2020. Have used it 6 times since then as it is now April 2021. Wow, I see so many negative reviews on this site. We have been very pleased with everything about this unit. It isnt the biggest or most luxurious but for a small toy hauler it does what we expected. First of all for anyone who says you cant haul anything in the garage, not true. We have a Harley Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic and have hauled it in 5 states. Yes you have to turn the front wheel and yes the lower bunk must be locked in the raised position. That being said, no side by sides or I doubt even a golf cart but not what I have so no problem for me. Everything has worked well so far so no complaints there. I will say the bathroom is cramped for me (6 4 240) but its nice it actually has a tub shower combo. I like to grill and an oven was mandatory for baked potatoes so enjoy that. I feel this camper is a good value for what I paid. Show less

This is an amazing 5th wheel has all the bells and whistles. Can fit a king bed inside. And the 2 bathrooms really came in handy! The kitchen island is great you can have alot of ppl in this and have a blast the outside speakers and the bbq hook up are amazing!! so much to say!! Show less

Very well built camper, fairly luxurious for a toyhauler, tons of storage everywhere. If you want the biggest and best production built trailer, this is pretty much it unless you want to spend another 10k for full body paint. Show less

We purchased our Outback 240URS in May 2018. Initially we had some very minor repairs...cosmetic issues around the dinette, and the base mounts on the dinette table pulled out of the floor after 3 uses. Easy fixes....dinette table floor mounts just put in large diameter screws....and has work fine for 2 years. Now we are about 28-30 months into our ownership. The furnace (Atwood 35000 btu) quit working. After tearing it out of the rig....which is not made for anything to be removed when it does and will fail.....has a reset switch that is flat on top of the furnace...clear in the back by the wall that you can not see unless you tear out the unit....or otherwise know where it is. It has temporarily allowed the furnace to contunue to work. Biggest issue....blew the rear AXLE on the trailer about a month ago. They did not grease the hub bearings properly at the factory....I have since had to put in an entirely new axle and brake assemble (make sure you put extra grease in your hubs right when you purchase it.....or have the shop do it....it will save you thousands of dollars and a ton of head aches. You will also find that the company Keystone uses for axles has had recalls nearly every year they ha e been open for exactly that issue of not putting enough grease in the hubs). I have also had a leak in the drinking water tank. It had a screw drilled i to it at the factory...one of the screws thT hold the black underbelly card board in place drilled straight into the edge of the tank. Did not find this little nugget until I was out of warranty and started to boon dock in national forest and had to use the tank for the first time. Also not designed to be removed for replacement or repairs....I had to modify the tank frame to remove the tank and reinstall it. Boon docking with no water is very difficult. I purchased and had work performed at Camping World....which will NEVER happen again. Customer service is a joke....if you can get them to even talk with you. And the quality of work is absolutely garbage. I did have good luck using my GOOD SAMS extended warranty. They did not give me any hassles and paid the bill. So also check out your local RV repair shops reviews....and find a good one before you take your rig in to be worked on. I still feel the RV is a good rig....I have seen far worse reviews on other brands....and it appears to be more of an industry problem of POOR QUALITY CONTROL....and nearly ZERO oversite for construction. This toyhauler is so nice it is like a home away from home. Trailers very with myChevrolet dually. With three air coditioners and three tvs what more could you ask for. The swing out seats on the eating island were a big selling point for me. Show less
