Buyer beware! Condensation within the walls without any visible signs . My Octane has never shown any condensation issues, not in the cabinets or living areas. I’ve always kept the unit well vented when in storage and under a RV carport. Your RV may be rotting away and you don’t even know it! My Octane is an excellent example of poor craftsmanship and no pride in one’s work! It took just seven year for the front eight feet to rot away from the inside out. I would have not known except that my Octane split open driving down the highway. The entire passenger side front corner opened up nearly the entire length while we were heading to a rally. At highway speeds it took just seconds to start peeling back and away. After opening up the walls I discovered massive gaps with no insulation and the AC duct-work taps so poorly cut that half the air was being pumped into the roof and walls! The three roof vents were open behind the trim pieces. So every time we ran the AC we were pumping moisture into the walls and roof. This was so bad that the aluminum floor framing has rotted away, yes aluminum 1 1/2 square tubing totally dissolved in seven years! There was no vapor barrier between the outer aluminum siding and the inside walls. This creates continuous condensation every time there is a temperature variation. Forget about the warranty or your RV insurance, you are on your own for the repairs on this type of damage. Dealer estimate for the repairs? Just shy of $16,000 for repairs! Like I would let any dealer repair it back to factory specs!! I’ve repaired the unit myself for less than 3K. I used closed cell insulation, treated lumber, vapor barriers, Kreg joints, exterior rated glues and highly elastic polymer caulk and sealants. Built the way you would expect to find in one of these expensive toys. So look before you buy and definitely check if you own. Not all RV Condensation can be seen!

I have owned my trailer since 2021. We have had to replace the tongue jack, propane regulator, rear cargo door screen and finally the Jaycommander. The cargo door screen most likely was never operational but discovered in March 2022. After working through 2 dealers we have finally had it fixed in February 2023, nearly a year. This is a combination of bad dealers and inventory problems at Jayco. The Jaycommander failed after the last firmware updated. After the update the awning would not retract. We have now been waiting over 5 weeks for the warranty support and have been told it would be probably another 4 weeks for a part to arrive and another week for the repair. When we get the trailer back, I will be selling the trailer. We have spent half the time we have owned the trailer trying to get it fixed. If this is standard operating procedures and times for repairs, I do not want to be part of the RVing world. It has cost me far too much time, money and frustration.

Are family absolutely loves this RV! The interior design is excellent! Floors, upholstery, cabinets and countertops colors all flow together perfectly! Much better than are house. Livability is good, a few grips on the dinette chairs being hard to position. It's always a compromise with an RV, and we get a big open living space and large garage, but the kitchen is split up with a hallway between. Bathroom could be larger, but that would take space from somewhere else. Having the bathroom sink outside the bathroom worked well for us. Quality and warranty are great! We did a wall that bowed out, crooked draw and speaker that died. But for an RV it's great quality and all of these issues where covered under warranty. Toyhauler is easy to pull. We used the Reese Straightline system with no issues. If your truck can tow 10,000lbs you can tow this RV.

My husband and I purchased this RV in April. We have used it once so far. We are happy with it mostly. However, on our first use the refrigerator was not keeping temperature. All dealers that could service it were out for 3-4 months. We took it on our own to a private company to service because of this. They were able to get us in within 2 weeks. We found out the manufacturer had covered the refrigerator vent with insulation. This could have become a fire hazard. We don’t know if we’ll be reimbursed for the repair which was only $110. It seems to me the manufacturer should have had better quality control for this. I will update on whether there’s any other issues. Just know if you have a new Jayco RV with a Norcold N8X refrigerator that isn’t working properly that the vent may be covered over with insulation and don’t run it until corrected.

I purchased a Jayco Octane SL 293 in May of 2020 for a military PCS. We lived in it from the beginning of July thru the end of August and have taken several weekend trips since then. Overall I am extremely happy with this rig. We use the garage section to carry 2 Harley's with us, mostly when we PCS. We have also used the rear garage as an office at times. I have had zero major issues with it. IMO, Jayco has superior quality throughout the rig when you compare it to other models, specifically bumper pull toy haulers. We really like the fact that the garage is separate from the rest of the space. I don't understand why they discontinued this floor plan, but I suppose it serves a niche customer that isn't large enough to justify continuation.

I'd give them a zero if that were an option. Our shower started leaking after the first time we took it out. It has been in the shop for the leak 6 times and the problem continues. The problem seems to be a design flaw. I emailed jayco and asked them to help. The shower has been resealed several times and the shower frame and door was even replaced and continues to leak from the same area. I asked Jayco to help and they said they would review our service records. They wrote back and said the problem wasn't found until after the two year warranty expired so they wouldn't help. I got a copy of all of the service records from the dealer and it turns out the dealership found and attempted to repair the leak before the trailer was delivered to us when it was new. Then we brought it back a few months after we purchased it because we noticed the leak. The trailer was in the shop 5 times for the leak during the 2 year warranty period and again after the 2 year warranty expired. I emailed all of the service records to Jayco and they wrote back and said their decision stands that they will not assist with fixing the leak. What a disappointment. The shower clearly has a design flaw that leaks and Jayco will not stand by their product. The dealer we bought from no longer sells Jayco products. Clearly they are not a dependable company. I would not recommend buying their products.
