Winnebago 36G Class A - Diesel reviews

My wife and I bought our beautiful rig in winter of 2020. We moved in full time and went on a cross country tour with our auto hauler and Subaru in tow from Boston Massachusetts down to the Gulf coast and across to the west coast then went north up the pacific coast highway into Washington state then back across into Montana and south down to Arizona searching for our dream log cabin home. We were full time RV’ers retired and living the dream for about a year. Our Forza was absolutely the perfect choice for us and our 2 cats. We had one slider issue about 6 months into our trip and a blown intake gasket in Oklahoma City about 8 months later. I was able to take care of the slider issue myself after replacing the slider motor and we had purchased an extended factory warranty that covered the drive train and chassis so a couple of days at the Freight Liner Truck Company took care of the intake gasket and they inspected our Forza completely before they released it back to us in excellent condition ready for the road. We absolutely loved our experience in this unit and would highly recommend the Winnebago Forza 36G diesel pusher to anyone searching for the kind of road trip dreams we found in ours. We purchased our 2004 Winnebago Journey 36G new. We got 36,000 good miles. Then the turbo broke and needed a new one 🙄 that one and the next 2 turbos were covered. The 4th, yes the 4th was on us. 300 Cummins engine. It now has 136,000 and just needed new ignitors and air flow. Cost $8,000. We will just have to try to sell for whatever we can get for it. My husband has always taken care of maintenance and kept all records. It has been kept in our barn since day one. Never buy new, Winnebago, or 300 Cummins engine again. Show less

Overall, owning this RV has been a challenge however, nothing more serious than the frame that supports the undercarriage near the fresh water tank has broken and is hanging 8" from the ground. It appears that a piece has broken off causing a cross frame to come apart. This coach is 5 years old with 30k miles. How is the quality so poor? Show less

This is the first new motorhome bought in March 2004. We have had nothing but problems since 36,000 miles. Needed a turbo. Then another turbo. In all 4 turbos. Cummins paid for 3. Last one was $5000 on us. Winnebago was absolutely no help at all. Man in Iowa just hung his head and said there was nothing they could do. This was after the 2nd turbo. The only help we got was from the dealer in Georgia who gave us the name of the man at Cummins. Thank God for him. We are now trying to find someone to buy it. We will not lie to anyone about the problems we have had. Good luck to us. We will never buy a Winnebago. Show less

We loved our RV, really enjoyed the separate bedroom and the spaciousness of the central living area. Kitchen has plenty of cabinets and countertops. Plenty of under coach storage to not clutter up the coach. Highly dependable coach. Show less

This is a very easy RV to use and live with. It has great storage capacity and the interior space is totally livable with the single slide in. We have looked at a number of newer RV's that are essentially unusable with the slides in the closed position. This unit is perfectly livable with the slide in and very spacious with the slide out. The only real complaint that I have with the unit is the fact that it could really use another 100 horsepower. Once you get it rolling it's OK, but you have to be patient and in hilly areas you have to plan ahead and use the shifter to keep the engine in the power band. Show less

We have owned this Coach for two years, this was well maintained and interior remodeled (hard wood floors, headliner redone,wood blinds new AC). Very comfortable driving and camping. Wonderful floor plan. People should consider an older well maintained coach. Show less

The Journey is aptly named. We love our Motorhome and have had 70,000 miles of many great Journeys in it. The 36 is a perfect size for accessibility to most all parks, yet it has plenty room. Compared to new models, we like the simplicity of this model. If we could buy a new one, exactly like it, we would do it. The only change we would make is the queen size bed it a bit tight for us. The next coach will have a king bed. We did not have any warranty issues so that category should really have an NA. We did travel to Winnebago twice for factory updates ( new tv and motion satellite) and repairs. This was a very good experience. Maybe somewhat costly, but compared to running the Motorhome all over for various disciplines, the one stop service and knowing work is done correctly is worth the cost. And while there, take the tour. It’s an impressive company with interesting history. Show less

Outstanding customer service at Winnebago and Freightliner. Easy to drive, good visibility, great comfort all around. Unit is well balanced, but the automatic leveling and retracting seems a bit slow. Show less

We bought this rv three years ago. And have been very happy with it. It was one owner rv when we bought it. This is correct millage,25000. We are going back to fifth wheel. Because we own dulley truck. Show less
