Review for the 2021 Thor Chateau 24F: We purchased our 2021 Thor Chateau 24F, brand new right off the show room floor from LA MESA RV in La Mesa California. We had just retired and planned to travel the United States. We have now had the Motorhome for five years and it has only 8000 miles on it. 2500 of those miles was from transporting it to California. Not for the lack of trying to use it but for the continuous MANUFACTURES defects. First test run the coach electrical system failed on the first night at 2AM. We took it in after a 2 month wait to get into service. We were told it was because we didn’t charge the battery all the way. The service manager stated it takes at least 48 hours of being plugged in. We plugged it in and took it out again. Again, the coach died the FIRST night at 2AM. Took it back after waiting for an appointment. This time we were told the battery that came with the coach was defective and needed to be replaced. This is not covered under the NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY. We replace the battery and still the coach would not make it ONE night. We finally replace the electrical system to the tune of $4000 and every worked great. Next, the motorhome was bottoming out on EVERY dip in the road. The service Manager at La Mesa RV told us it was because the plumbing for black tank was too low and this is not covered. I took the motorhome over to Weldtech and they explained to me and showed me that the entire suspension was inadequate for this motorhome. They replaced it for $7000 dollars and now no more bottoming out. Long story short it has been one thing after another. Thousands of dollars replacing parts and system on this Thor Motorhome. LA MESA RV AND THOR Motors are absolutely NO help and so far NOTHING has been covered under the new vehicle warranty or the $7000 dollar extended warranty. I hope this review will keep some of the couples who work all their lives and wish to travel the US in a motorhome to STAY AWAY FROM LA MESA RV AND THOR MOTORHOMES. I purchased the coach in southern Texas this February. Drove down from NE Ohio in my Prius. Rented a U-Haul trailer in Del Rio, loaded the Prius and drove the RV back with the Prius on the car hauler in tow. The Chevrolet 3500 chassis with 6.6L gas & 6 speed transmission got 10.3 mpg all the way back. Towed great. Regarding the coach, I had a few minor issues that resulted in my visit to Thor's repair facility in Wakarusa, IN. It appears several were caused by an authorized realer in NM (or TX) during a minor repair intervention. A couple of other cosmetic issues created by the previous owner, a couple of minor issues from the factory and one electrical issue that prevented the coach battery from charging while driving. I can't be more pleased with the folks at Thor in Wakarusa, IN. The early June warranty appointment at their factory repair facility with the Chateau 22E far exceeded my expectations. Not only did all the important issues on my list get resolved, but they also found a couple I had missed and even generously took care of a few items created by the Chateau's previous owner. My sincere thanks to Warranty Administrator Leslie, Service Repair Tech Tim, Service Supervisor Ed and Service Coordinator Jennifer. You were all professional and thorough. As I previously indicated, you more than exceeded my expectations. In this day and age of RV manufacturers that hide & obfuscate their problems, it's so gratifying to come across a corporation whose staff puts their customers' needs first. BTW.. With regard to overall RV quality and the warranty issues.. I'm totally impressed with the quality of the coach. While there were a couple of minor factory finishing issues, there was only one I considered significant that involved a circuit that prevented the chassis from charging the coach while driving. I believe the remaining issues were either created during a NM (or TX) repair center intervention or by the original owner sometime before I took possession of the RV. 2018 Thor Chateau 24hl. Extremely easy to drive, back up camera is great. Perfect for a couple or family with a few small children. It's super easy to pull up stakes and cruise if needed. The Mercedes chassis and diesel engine is a workhorse and super reliable. Gas mileage is good at about 13-14 MPG. Nice floor plan and bunkhouse area is convienient. Plenty of storage throughout. Overall a good coach. Obviously small things break because all RVs are made cheaply. But really no surprises. Recommend for class C. Show less

We love this Thor Chateau 28z RV for the size, comfort, livability, traveling ease, and convenience. The North/South master bedroom fits perfectly for convenience and comfort. The floor plan works well for traveling, as well as, for camping. The indoor color scheme has a classic look and feel. The exterior color and design is refined, yet sporty. Campy. Storage compartments, interior and exterior, are unsurpassed for a motor coach this size. Show less

Unit floorplan is flexible and reasonably priced for a small family to enjoy long or short road trips. The systems of the coach are located logically and it's easy to access valves, switches, and storage. The 2 slides really increase the feel of the room sizes dramatically. Show less

Purchase July of 2023 first road trip three cabinet doors fell off cannot fill it with fuel with an automatic fill keeps tripping the gas pump propane gauge didn't work from day one took from July until December to get it repaired generator extremely difficult to start when you switch from right turn signal to left turn signal or vice versa with the phone connected for GPS or for audio system completely shuts down dealer has been unable to repair it factory is telling me it's working as designed can't get a Ford dealer within 500 miles to work on it none of them have big enough base to accommodate a motorhome so the fuel problem persists the nearest Cummins generator repair facility is 350 mi away Show less

Bought from general RV. Had 800 miles on it. Drove home from VA to RI. Discovered heat doesn't work, nor oven. Drawers flying open due to not installed correctly. No big deal. Right? Only general RV says you signed for it, it's yours to deal with. Decided to take trip out west where heat won't be needed. Stabilitrak light comes on. 3 days in Vegas Chevy dealer ... Covered under warranty and multiple questions on what did we hit. In Tennessee we realize our tires are bald from alignment issues... 2 new tires and realignment done. Driving home tires wearing wearing unevenly. So we are crawling back home to deal with this. I don't recommend general RV or thor or Chevy at this pt. Super frustrating for a 2023 !!! Show less

What a dream. Sleeping in it is almost surreal. The layout and floorplan make you feel like you are living in a private plane or yacht. Everything is in it's place and the traffic flows and workflows are organic. Specialized storage above and below ( it was an executive shuttle bus from casino to airport) and sturdy construction ( removed 15 seats and bulkheads and built onto solid steel framing) AND ruggedized floor allowed me to travel from "port to port" towing my 23 foot center console. I could drive to the launch, sleep until 4, cook and eat, launch boat, and be first to the hot spot. I slept and lived in roadside parks, RV parks, WalMart parking lots, and dark country road sides when I was not living at the bait camp or boat launch. The design point of 3 days without hookup worked. I will miss this adventure Bus, but my life has changed and it is time to sell her, long may you roll Kplane! Show less

I bought a brand new Thor motor coach, Mercedes sprinter van that Thor conversion is done so poorly and Thor themselves makes it impossible to get replacement parts. My van has been in the repair shop for over a year still waiting for parts and even then some of the parts that they repaired with are in worse condition than the broken Ones that came with the coach. It is an absolute disaster dealing with Thor motorcoach, and they’re cheap conversions biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent in my life. I highly regret buying a Thor motorcoach over a year and I’m still waiting for parts to be done. They ignore my calls and have not done anything. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they have not responded , the situation has caused so much stress in my life because I spent so much money on some thing I trusted because it was brand new with a big name like Thor motorcoach, which just means that they’re too big to care about their poor conversions and products and their warranty department is an absolute joke do not waste a penny trust me, you will regret it I would be happier, living out of a tent than their coaches that they sell Show less
