Just bought a new 2022 HEF Freedom Elite. I was warned prior to buying that the typical motor home is built with sticks, a manner of stating don't expect quality craftsmanship. Left the dealer in a rainstorm and the first thing noticed, No windshield wash spraying. At home, checked and realized the windshield wash reservoir was never filled by neither the factory Thor (builder) or the dealer that charged $499.00 for a 120-point pre deliver inspection. Having done personally a bumper-to-bumper inspection of the vehicle, this vehicle appears to have been built by cheap labor and ZERO quality control. China could produce a better product. Next comes the generator. Starting the generator was a mission. With 40+ years of 12V experience, I crawled under the RV and the first thing I noticed was the Generator chassis ground cable dangling on the chassis bolt. It was never bolted down! Next, checked the inside of the generator and the same thing. The same cable leading to the solenoid was never bolted down. It was just sitting of the bolt with the nut and lock washer loose. Check the oil and the level was down about 1/4 of a quart. Next, I noticed that the vehicle was WINTERIZED as there was 1 sticker inside and 1 outside stating THIS VEHICLE WAS WINTERIZED. I turned to YouTube on how to dewinterize the water tank and the procedure seem time consuming but fairly simple. I removed the cushion and plywood base of one of the dinette seats to gain access to the water tank. First think I noticed was a puddle of water on top of the water tank that spilled from a water line laying loose on top of the tank and leaking because the screw on plug was less than finger tight. I followed the water to see where it had traveled and found a wet spot on the floor area in front of the clothes cabinet. Unfortunately, the water damaged the bottom of the cabinet and to fix that would be more trouble than it is worth as at this point, the dealer is 2.5 hours away and based on their performance, I am sure I would get the vehicle back in worst condition. I went ahead and caulked the entire base of all cabinets and floor and the shower stall across the top and sides as this vehicle is a candidate for water damage. Well last week took the RV for the maiden weekend voyage. Can't explain the feelings my wife and I were going through when we had to take cold showers. Called the 24 hours Thor technical number and they tried but were not able to solve the problem. Got the vehicle home and checked the water heater inside and out. After referring back to YouTube, it turned out that the fuse outside by the control module had no continuity. The fused looked fine but when I tested it, there was no continuity. Went to a local RV store and picked up 2 fuses to be safe ($24.00). Replacement of the fuse was easy. I happen to take a look at the ignitor for the water heater and notice about a 1/2" gap. On YouTube it stated to make sure no more than an 1/8" gap. I corrected that. I turn on the LP gas, hit the water heater switch and PRESTO, I heard the ignitor come on and fired up the heater. Problem resolved. Another failure to inspect by the Dealer for the $499.00. I also noticed that many screws within and outside the RV are over torqued and thus not really doing their job of securing things in place. Had to replace approximately 10 screws with next size up screws in order to secure different items. Today, is the winner. I was installing LED lights under the rear portion of the RV so as to create a glow at night for more lighting around the RV. I was behind the RV and by chance noticed a space along the top of one of the taillights. I went to remove the 6 screws and found one to be broken off inside the fiberglass. As I removed the bottom screws, a splash of water came out. Inside the cutout of the RV wall where the power plug to the taillight fixture is, the plywood is black with mildew and damp. I checked the other taillamp and the plywood was like new. I had to drill and use an easy-out tool to remove the broken screw in the fiberglass. I have replaced all the screw with stainless steel screws. For now, I have to leave the one taillight off for to allow the mildew on the plywood to dry. My advice, if you do not know how to maintain a boat or an RV on your own and need to call a mechanic for help each time a fuse blows or something breaks, don't buy a THOR product and stay away from an RV. Use the money to go on cruises instead and leave the headaches to someone else.

We bought this unit from Camping World, Denton , Tx. Had problems with the kitchen sink (trap was installed upside down), Check engine light on. They had it for the whole summer, after having used it1, 1400 mi trip! Got it home went to open it up t, 1 side of bunk slide didn't work. Fixed for a $100 service fee, waited weeks, again! Camping World is the WORST! Meanwhile the check engine light never got fixed from Camping World. Brought it to a Ford dealership who' agreed to fix it- under warranty. Tried to make another trip , check engine light!!! Brought back to Ford, only no longer under 1 yr warranty, so before I could call & get pre- authorization from my Xtra insurance they fixed it, over $600. Insurance wouldn't make an exception! I call THOR, sent them all the e-mails from the Camping World issues & the bill regarding the check engine light issue! PAID THE BILL WITHIN 2 WEEKS! Easy to talk to, helpful! Can't say enough nice things about this company. Wish we could just buy direct! Not an A Class, but for the money like it just fine!

My husband and I purchased this RV in 2021, we upgraded from a Class C to the Coach. What a disaster, First year we had it in service for over 6 months one thing after another broke down, Electic, sewer water getting stuck in the trap overflowing toilet, cabinet broke up under the sink, sink lines kinked, table broke, cable no tv , should I go on, Then I take it out the other day and omg another disaster, The overhead bed didn't come down, the awning wouldn't come out and the steps would not stay out. On my way home from this disaster of a camping trip the hydraulic line broke and had hydraulic fluid all over the place. Luckily I was close enough to get home before a fire started. What a piece of garbage this camper is. you can't even enjoy going camping in this What a nightmare. So what do you do Thor doesn't care about their products. I want to turn it in and have them give me a new one but you can't get anyone on the phone to discuss your disappointment with this camper. I'm so fed up. What do you do with this.
