Thor Motor Coach reviews

I purchased a Thor Motor Coach April of 2022, by May we were already having issues with it. Took it to get fixed and thought all was fine since it was under warranty. Started having issues with the generator, took it to a Cummins to get it fixed and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. We ended up moving and didn't have much of a chance to use it until March 2023, started having issues again. Took is for repairs 4/25/23 and haven't really had it in our possession since, the sink started leaking, our pop top liner was all jacked up and couldn't be used, a drawer wasn't able to close anymore, cracks in the hinge of the cabinet doors that we were noticing. While the van was in service we received 2 recalls, one for the generator and another for the Dodge van itself. Took the van to get the generator taken care of and thought we were finally getting our van back until the store called us and said the new generate part failed on the van and started spewing gasoline everywhere. Called Thor today to let them know what's been going on, their only answer was that the vehicle is under warranty so they will fix it. But we have had this van for over a year, haven't put more than 20hours of use on the generator, haven't even hit 10K miles on the vehicle, and have been paying for this thing the last 5 months and don't even have it in our possession!! I would highly recommend staying away from the Thor Scope, this model was not made correctly and they just rolled out the RV's without paying attention to the detail in the vans, definitely better companies out there. Thor acts like they will work with you but they do not follow through. We have been dealing with several water leaks in our motorhome. They have fixed several leaks but then another is discovered. Being an ongoing problem you would think someone would warranty it as an existing problem. Their motor homes are built poorly and you better find all the problems in year one under warranty. Don’t use Demontrond RV for you service needs they are the worst. Show less

Only concern is the low speed towing there's a loud squeeking noise. Have had everything lube d with dry lube to no avail. Any suggestions? It takes a little getting used to the auto leveling. Wife and I have taken grandkids with us and everyone was comfortable. Would definitely recommend this unit to couples not wanting to tow a large 5th wheel. Show less

Do not buy anything that has the name brand “Thor” . I purchased in 2022. Unit been back and fourth in shop for warranty work on everything took 8 months to finally take a trip. Thor warranty department is the worst of the worst, they won’t fix anything, or everything is bender based. Only thing thor does is put a box unit on a Chevy or ford box truck. So I get a 2022 thor quantum LC 22 cabinet sitting on a 2021 check body, go figure why the difference. I thought both should be on 2022. Wrong, so everything I. The cabinet is a different vendor, so you have to call them, thor is good about tell you who to call and wiggling out of handling any warranty items. You have to speak with a manager to get anything resolved. I guess they don’t. Are you just paid 100,000 for a new unit. All one of the guys in customer service told me was, RVs are not made by robotics like cars, they are made in America by us citizens by hand. Show less

I bought a new 2023 Axis. 24.1. I love the floor plan. After about 2200 miles I had a 4" Lift Done by Weld Tech Designs in ElCajon Ca. It made all the difference in the world. I purposely put 2200 miles before I had the work done. It handles 1000 percent better. Money well spent. I have also had Lithium Batteries installed and an Easy start on the AC. A regular 20 Amp house circuit allows me to run the AC. I love the amount of exterior storage also. I have found room for 19 fishing rods plus a lot of tackle. Grandpa Jack Show less

Purchased as a new unit for 2022. I knew going in that Thor does not have a good quality track record. Got a great price on the unit and did not want to drop 500K on top of line other brand. I only use this limited and could not see tossing $$$ with only a 4 trips a year. Full time I would of spend the extra money. Agree with the comments. Quality was an issue. List had 50+ warranty items. Aqua hot took a dump on third trip. Replace circuit board and lived with cold showers. Freightliner update screwed up the TPMS even more. Yes, the TPMS has mystery readings at times but better now that they had to replace. Mystery screws found all the time. Fortunately, I only use it a handful of times a year and this last big warranty list of repairs has been in shop of 8 weeks. They ordered all the parts first and told them I am not bringing it back until they have every single part. Had to work with the Thor direct as some things they did not want to replace. They final approved items to replace. Even with parts in hand still will take 8 weeks for the items. I go this week to pick up and do a walk of the unit. If things are fixed right then they will need to do any items not done right. Took a lot of bitchin and getting in direct contact with Thor to get items approved. No matter what Dealer you go they will take forever to fix items. Again, I had time on my side to allow it to sit and get repair. If I was full time I would of been screwed. Plan on keeping it for retirement as the chasis and motor are solid so far. Now it is just maintaining and doing fixes myself on the interior to make it solid. Would I buy another one?? Yes and no. Pending your use. Only change is look for a used higher end brand with better quality, low miles and they have worked out all the kinks. Plus if you get a used one with low miles the owner usually throws in all the crap you buy for the RV. Friend of mine bought used and came with all kinds of extra stuff that I had to purchase to get me on the road. Show less

We just picked up the Thor Four Winds 24F from MHSRV in Alvarado Texas and drove it home to Utah. We chose this floor plan due to it being compact in length but with a full slider it ends up being a nice open size inside. Overall a very nice RV but some minor issues had to be addressed. One stabilizer jack was getting jammed during retraction. Fix: Greased both jackscrews. This should have been done at the factory or at least the dealership. Several cabinet doors opened up during the drive. Fix: Latches needed adjustment and some needed to be removed and tweaked then reinstalled. There should be an inspection done that requires a minimum pull force test with a scale before it leaves the factory or the dealership. Battery tie down straps dragging on the ground. Fix: Tied them to the battery handles. Nooks and crannies of interior had un used screws and other debris hiding in there. Fix: Blew out and vacuumed all nooks and crannies to remove debris. Quality control issue from factory. Several wiring harnesses flopping in the breeze under the coach behind the rear axle. Fix: Installed clamps to secure wiring. Attention to detail could be better in this area. Dinette seatbelt bracket bolt protruding into seat cushion. Fix: Cut off about an inch of the bolt. This bolt is too long and WILL eventually damage the seat back cushion. Overall a very nice coach and worth what we paid but there is room for improvement in attention to detail. Show less

We win! Officially "worst quality & worst service" from any manufacturer in the entire RV market. Purchased "brand new" 2023 Thor Tuscany MX in October 2022 and have yet to actually make it to a camp ground, yes it's currently been over 230 days at Lazy Days being worked on. With over 300 minor and major issues including; replacing the gen set, 3rd inverter, auquahot broke 4 times, refrigerator quit and was replaced, toilets swapped out, coach was out of alignment, paint and body wants 2 weeks, countertop cracked and replaced, I could keep going.. Thor service has zero communication skills but are excellent at stalling and saying things like "we will make it right" which is code for "we stole your $500k and we are laughing at you" so embarrassed for them, if you have had same type of experience you can share at thorsucks.org Please don't purchase a Thor product. I did tons of research and reviews … well I did not listen and i sure wish i did!! i am going to make this simple for you who is reading this! RUN.. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE WITH ANY THOR RV!!! that’s how i will sum up my horror!! All i can say is PLEASE LISTEN TO MY WORDS run do not look back and DO NOT PURCHASE. Show less
