2022 Thor Motor Coach reviews

This drives really rough like a train going over broken tracks. There was a noise banging in our slide so we took it in. They couldn’t find it so we took it in again and I rode around with them and they heard it. They took the slide out and said what it was but it didn’t make sense. It was ok for the first two days of our next trip and the other side started banging. Then it stopped and the old banging came back. There were many other little things wrong like we have to tap our side window shut because it rides so rough the lock slips and the window opens going down the road and then the blinds fall. People told me rvs ride rough but I never thought it would be this bad. I have gotten airborne sitting on the bed just going over a rough road. I love the floor plan especially the north south bed and the color but I’m so disappointed in Thot Show less

We dislike the shower. It's hard to get in and out of. Also we found lots of holes where rats can get in and out. That is poor work quality and laziness. My opinion is that you should rat/animal access your RV. We had several leaks and the generator never worked from the get go. Show less

Like everyone else I bought a Thor Windsport and it has spent more time in the shop I got it in January 2022 and black tank had to be replaced the lever jacks went out sink faucet had to be replaced generator didn’t work and now having problems with the electrical system on the chassis it has had to be towed three times and as I write this it is sitting and waiting to be towed to the ford dealer again as the gateway control module went out again. What can I do as Thor told me it was not there problem. So far it has cost me over $7000.00 dollars also I bought a good Sam’s extended warranty and that was a thousand dollars donated as they wouldn’t honor any part of it .What can you do I wrote a letter to the Texas attorney general’s office and they said they couldn’t help . Only had Rv for 2 years dont buy one they are poorly made and they don't last would never buy a Thor motorhome ever again stay away if you know what is good for you. Our RV has been in the shop 5 times now since we bought it. The bolts on rear axle broken after 1900 miles never hitting a bump. This Rv Thor Motorhome thrown together poorly. Cheaply made. We purchase in Ashland, VA. Dealership had the RV driven down from the factory. We had a two hour class on the operation and everything was set up on our arrival. We're fine with our RV. During our 2 year warranty plan, the biggest issue was the passenger window got sticky and it was immediately replaced. I would say, if you are not RV Savey, take or request the technicians to give you a class before you leave. New stuff is exciting, but unless you know how to use it, it can be a bummer. Show less

They talk you in to extra warranties But you can't get them to fix any thing .The worst one is corner stone warranties they have a loophole for everything. The Quality poor i have wall inside warping and coming apart. a bench coming apart, a refrigerator the chrome panels are coming off . paid for ceramic coating after 4 mouths looks like someone sanded the fiberglass .This is a FOUR WINDS 3/28/22 WITH ONLY 3363 MILES on it. They should be ashamed of the quality of workmanship on this Motorhome. Show less

Unfortunately, I can't say too many good things about this RV other than we're happy with the floor plan we chose. That's about it. It seriously lacks in quality, reliability, usability, and its customer service. We've owned the RV for 18 months and have not had even ONE day that everything worked as it was supposed to. Not ONE. Initial problems were with the wiring. There were pinched/cut wires when the coach was assembled to the chassis that caused its inspection to fail because clearance lights had a direct short in the circuit. There were 5 circuits that didn't even have a fuse installed in them. There were mis-wiring in the van that led to other systems not working. The lithium ion battery system is such a poor design that it doesn't even come close to maintaining the battery charge when ANYTHING is turned on, like the fridge. Even when the main power switch is OFF, the inverter OFF, the fridge OFF, there is still a constant discharge on the battery of -0.6 to -1.7 amps! Even though the Thor owner resource pages state that you can maintain the battery over the winter by running the engine once a month, the battery is completely discharged within a week. And once it gets below 3%, the system shuts down and won't charge at all until you plug into shore power. (Who the hell designed this stupid system???) Less than a year into ownership, the alternator for the coach battery stopped working completely, so we've been unable to use the van at all since it's kinda important to have a working fridge when you're traveling. After waiting a month for a new alternator to arrive and get installed, there is still NO difference and the coach battery still won't charge from the engine. Customer Service? NONE. I've contacted them multiple times about the issues we're having. They responded to one message after 3 weeks, but gave such a stupid, useless response that completely missed the whole point. When I asked for clarification, they completely ignored me and haven't replied in over a year. Even when I contacted them about these new issues, they still haven't bothered to reply to me and it's been another 3 weeks of silence from them. What a frikkin' joke. The documentation and videos on the owners resource site don't match with our van. The schematics have errors in them and many of the guides don't really apply to our version of coach. In a nutshell, I'd say to stay away from this horrible version of RV and Thor in general. They clearly just slap these things together whether they believe it will actually work or not. I believe they already know about the terrible design and reliability issues they have - especially with the stupid Li-ion battery systems - that they don't even respond to their customers when they have related problems. This first RV experience for my wife and I has been a complete nightmare. I wish I had never heard of Thor. I wish we had never even looked at a Thor RV. Now it's nothing more than a money pit whose value has fallen a lot since we purchased. I mean, you have to question the sanity of a company who integrates a storage holder for the black/gray tank hose that FITS NO KNOWN HOSE ON THE PLANET. Oh - the RV does have a roof rack on it that is completely unusable because it's mounted across the solar panels! Not only would you block the light from reaching them, but any weight on them would cause them to break. Another innovation from our friends at Thor. Run, don't walk from this company. Show less

Stay as far away from Thor Motor Coach as you can. The 2-year nightmare that they have put us thought in outrageous and totally unprofessional. We have well over 30 quality and/or service issues. I will try to list as many as I can but this list in no way represents all the issues with the RV. To give some examples for Thor's lack of quality and customer service I will list a few of the major issue that we have had. While driving the RV home the RV was so far of alignment that we could not hold the RV on the road. The screens on the windows were also falling off because half the clips that hold the screens on were missing. Rail cover for the bunkbed was crooked and misaligned as of today that still have not been repaired. Had to pay $600.00 out of pocket to a local Ford Dealer to get the RV aligned. Then we had to fight with Thor to reimburse for the alignment this took over 3 months. Next, we found the wallpaper in the bedroom bubbling and peeling off the wall & the passenger slide out would not go in or out properly. The slide out also pulled the side wall away from the floor leaving a gap between the wall and the floor. Letting us look at the road as we drove down the road. Our dealer found that the window hole in the bedroom was cut too big and was not caulked properly. The ENTIRE rear end of the RV had to be removed and replaced because it was full of water. This among many other issues took 20 weeks to repair. The very next trip the slide out still was not working properly. It would only go in part way and crooked. Had to stop a local RV repair shop to have it looked at. They found the rear motor for the side out was not installed correctly so it burnt the motor out. Had to pay $286.00 out of pocket to get it replaced. Still waiting for reimbursement for over a year now. On another trip while driving down the road the refrigerator fell out of its hole, molding on the walls were falling off the walls, found that the furnace was not installed properly duct work, blower motor and electronic control board was not connected and one of the windows did not open properly. This took another 8 weeks to repair all of these items. Our RV is now back in the shop for another 8 weeks for repairs to the floor where the slide out ripped a hole in the flooring, still has the gap between the wall and floor, the part for the bunk rail cover has finally come in, broken molding in two places, water in one of the ceilings led lights, one of the window shades will not stay down, LED taillights are burnt out and the doorstep stopped working which they want us to pay for. If all that is not enough to convince you to never purchase a Thor Motor Coach product, I do not know what will. Just know that these are just a few of the issues we have had with 36 weeks and 100 of phone calls and emails to Thor Motor Coach and our dealer. Don't say I didn't warn you. Show less

The coach was built in northern Indiana! It was driven to the dealership in southern Indiana! It had salt on coach that was never washed off! Rust everywhere! No dot buy a Thor motor coach! I wash and wax this coach every time I am stopped! I have never driven it in any salt! It was not even a year old and the manufacturer rejected the repair for rust! Total piece of junk! The hitch broke off the flooring had holes in it overspray on all the compartment doors,hot water heater leaked I fixed that my self the hood keeps coming open when driving down the road! Total junk never buy a Thor coach! Total junk!!!!!!!!! Show less

This vehicle has been a nightmare since day one. We've had the vehicle for slightly over a year (July 22) but have not physically had it with us for 4 months and by the looks of it, it will be another 4 months before we get it back if we ever do. Currently the vehicle is at Chrysler/Dodge service center in Oceanside CA. They actually caused more damage to the vehicle then what was already going on when I dropped it off. Now they are telling me that I have to pay and set up towing to send the vehicle to another service center because they are completely incompetent. Its bad enough that this vehicle is made out of paper and EVERYTHING breaks the second you drive it off the lot, but it's even worse when the service centers take your vehicle for months and do nothing. And just for i will list some of the stuff that is currently not working: odometer, speedometer, radio, door locks, turn signals, ALL ELECTRICAL, airbags, sky light replaced 2 times, pop top leaking when it rain flooding inside and I have videos of it (Thor denied repair requests 3 times) , also pop top seal replaced 2 times, back bench missing support bar, fluid leaking from vehicle, bathroom walls pealing, bathroom shower head was leaking, faucet came off, all drawers don't stay shut especially when driving, door panels falling off, insulation missing, rug pins came off, refrigerator door missing screw and bolts, outlets not working, GFCI not working, window shades don't work, windows needed to be replaced and locks never work, 2 recalls on vehicle (only a yr old), heating vents disintegrated, battery screen had to be replaced, inverter and A/C works sometimes. BTW, 2 months into owning this the Master-volt control panel stopped working and Thor mailed us another one and told us that we had to replace it ourselves and mail them the old one. For over 100k, you would think that I would not have to fix my own vehicle and that the warranty plus the extra warranty we bought would actually cover them doing their jobs. It took me over a month to get a hold of anyone at the service center to address issues and this was when i had only had the vehicle for a wk. When issues were not address and calls were ignored and not returned, I filed a BBB complaint and that when I finally got a manager to call me. Here we are 5 months after the fact and I still don't have a working vehicle or any idea as when I will have it. Show less
