We bought a 2018 Forest River Salem 30QBSS this last summer we noticed the ski on the slide out was coming off because water was getting in behind the medal that was attached to it. After going through my insurance to get it fixed it was deemed to be poor craftsmanship/factory default and after numerous attempts to contact forest river via phone and email they have not responded! This is a industry wide thing from what I have seen!! This will cost me over 7k to fix! This is not something I could have prevented as it was an issue that I couldn’t see coming!!! I’m extremely unhappy with Salem right now! Maybe posting here will get them to respond to me!

I read some saying the quality isn't that good, you need to realize these trailers are built to be lite. That said we love our toy hauler, we don't haul any toys in it other than bicycles, we got it for the room. Nothing worse than being cramped up in a trailer in bad weather. I've been down dirt roads with mine and take it real easy traveling and then I see people flying down these roads and there probably the one's complaining the doors come loose and so on. I take our trailer into the dealer every year and let them do a check on the whole thing, so if you take care of it, these trailers will last you. If you want great cabinetry and really good quality than you better plan on spending 60 grand or more.

Initially, our family loved the layout, livability, and overall unit. But time had a different opinion. Just about every finished surface has issues. The wall covering laminate is letting go, caulking and sealant around the unit failed, even with consistent yearly maintenance, counter-tops bubbled, Formica trim retracted and adhesives failed. Fabrics lasted about 7 months before seams un-threaded and wainscotting separated. Warranty requests through the dealership were met with lukewarm at best responses by the manufacturer and included compromised repairs with us having to pay for labor (well into the $1000's) and the manufacturer covering materials (less than $1000). In hindsight, the reduced price on a prior year model (even with an extended warranty) was instantly offset by the defects at less than 2 years old, let alone the staggering costs at 4 years. The unit now requires a new roof and subframe due to substandard products that the manufacturer claims are "professional grade". Yet they only cover defects in the roof for 90 days from the date of purchase. Seems like the consumer is the only person that loses when they buy a Forest River. Dealerships get to charge astronomical service fees, hourly rates that exceed union carpenters, or mechanics at your local car dealership, the manufacturer is not liable for anything, and the extended warranties are written in Latin to obfuscate the layman. 100% will never consider a Forest River unit in the future. They are built to be throw-away units, at legacy prices. If you are in the market, just keep looking. It isn't worth the long-term price.

I cant say enough about this 5th Wheel. My son and his family are having a house built and have lived in it for 2 months. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 kitchens (inside and outside) 4 pop outs, awning, lots of storage spaces and a bbq attached. It has been a wonderful addition to the family. But now, its time to say goodbye to our dear care taking 5th wheel. We are thankful and blessed to have such a wonderful home for the time we all needed. It is hooked up and ready to show. Family is leaving 11/12/21, where at that time, feel free to drive off with your new adventure.

This has been the best camper. We have a Nissan Titan that pulls this beautifully. This is a perfect camper for a couple, maybe with pets or friends as the pull out couch and kitchen table both make comfortable beds. The Rear kitchen was a MSUT for us and you will love it being apart from the master bedroom. The bathroom and shower are plenty big and there is a ton of storage. We had it for 3 years and would have kept it but have had some life changes that have us going a direction away from camping for right now. We will also be leaving the 2 - 40 inch flatscreens mounted in living area and bedroom and you will love the outside fridge and rear propane grill that is connected to the main line. Water heater is electric but can switch to propane. Setup is a cinch with power levelers that raise and lower with a button, no worrying about getting your power drill out to raise and lower those. Hoestly you won't go wrong with this camper!

Cushion are thin and workmanship is poor. The Murphy bed which we love is constructed without enough supports internal to the frame to keep the box from collapsing. Rv has lots of nice touches like power hitch jack, power stabilizer Jack's. A/C works well. Bath is huge with a real glass surround. Frame seems solid.
Queen mattress is a joke.
For what we need it for its perfect. Great size, great layout and plumbed for rear camers. Have to say, we have taken it on some ruff roads and it stayed together and nothing came loose. :-) overall happy with our purchase

Brand new off the show room floor from Gander RV Wichita Ks. Fireplace didn’t work. The satellite wiring didn’t work. The main bed in the front was broken wood from the manufacturer the front a/c makes the entire cabin smell like an out house. Paid to install washer and dryer and both rattled so hard thay broke the door shaking. The fold out for the living room area broke the second time it was used. The roof leaked every time it rained. The back door wouldn’t close or open unless very forcablely
Pushed or kicked. The back under wood support below the back couch was ripped off and not fixed after it was supposed to be replaced. The battery trickle charger was replaced by manufacturer and still didn’t work. The siding over the wheels fell off just driving down the road. Brand new there were wires from under the frame dragging on the concrete. It’s spent most of the first year in the shop brand new. It’s now been used once. TJ or CJ the manager in Wichita Kansas is clearly a person who does not care about your equipment time or experience. In fact he was very bullying demanding I set down in a chair I wait while he gets his boss. (Ass Hat). Gander RV in Wichita KS is the worst experience I have ever experienced. Honestly a class action law suite fits more of their category of fraud of the customers they have stooped. I could I have left out half of the rest of he problems. 1 year warrant. Nearly 1/2 year in the shop. But you still pay the payment every month.
