After having a great 9 years with my grand design reflection I made the mistake of trading it in on a new solitude. They are allowing lippert to put sub par equipment in their RV's. The tankless water heater(Furrion) had to be replaced at 6 months, I have been without a fridge(12 volt furrion) for 2 months. Dealerships don't even want to mess with them, Lippert is holding them up for getting parts now that I finally got it in . Also having problems with the tank valves which I never had in 9 years with the reflection. I bought a $147,000. lemon, never again. I absolutely love this unit. It is the second Fifth Wheel I have owned and I like everything about it. The Floor Plan is perfect for our needs. The quality is generally quite good and it is extremely comfortable. Hooking up and unhooking for either a short or extended stay is very easy and without stress. It generally drives as if it were not even there but I do maintain lower speeds in compliance with the 65 mph speed limitation for RV tires. Show less

We Factory ordered our rig in 2019. When we received our rig we had an issue with the AC not being installed correctly and our water heater leaking. All issues were brought directly to Grand design, and they took car of everything. We were full time living in our rig so Grand Design brought us a rig to live in while they took ours back to Indiana and made repairs. I will say they stand behind their product. If you are looking to go full time, Grand Design is the only full time rig I would buy. Show less

We have owned several fifth wheels and I love this front living floor plan. Plenty of storage space and room The on demand hot water heater alleviates running out of hot water when 3 adults take showers. Cools extremely well with the 3 AC's in South Carolina weather and humidity. Show less

I've owned Grand Design units for years and we're on our 3rd now, a Solitude 310GKR. We hoped that this would fit our retirement plans but I'm looking to sell/trade it for a Brinkley. We've taken our 310 out 5 times now and it's ended up in the repair shop after each trip. #1- The closet wall wasn't anchored to the floor. #2- The hydraulic system failed and had to be replaced. #3- the couches weren't anchored to the floor causing them to crash into the island and damaging both. #4- The wood trim poorly attached and falling off in several areas of the interior. #5- The heat pump for the electric heat on the roof top unit went out. Since Grand Design was bought out, it is no better than any other brand out there, including the cheap units. Components always likely to fail but the quality and workmanship has dramatically fallen. I would not recommend a Solitude as they're badly overpriced for what you get now. Show less

I would not recommend due to issues with slide out seals, auto leveling, toilet flush out leak, incorrectly installed door frames, screw falling off under the master closet and screw coming up through the floor in front of the master closet. Grand Design refuses to replacement the parts that were damaged before we bought the fifth wheel brand new or the parts that have failed to work right after purchase. They are using deny, delay, defend tactics. We have lost months of use of our fifth wheel and see no end in sight. Show less

This is an amazing rig. We purchased this because of the mid-bunkroom. This rig has a TON of storage space, in the living area, in the kitchen area, in the bedroom, underneath. The convection microwave is a huge plus. We’ve used the oven, but we all know RV ovens aren’t the best. The convection microwave works great. I've made biscuits and cookies, etc.. in it multiple times. Refrigerator has a ton of space. We’ve gone on 30 day trips in this rig and had no issues with any of the appliances. We upgraded the batteries because we keep it in a storage facility when not being used. We upgraded to a trickle charger for those batteries for the same reason. Show less

I knew nothing about RV's and less about towing one. This unit has impressive quality. The interior colors are walnut which we liked better than the new "pickled" white new unit have. We lived in it full time for a year. The floor plan gives the most room. The opposing slides open to make the kitchen, dining area and living area very open. The two heated/massage recliners are directly across from the televator TV. The unit has a RV refrigerator(18') so a little small but it can run on propane or electric (or solar). This makes a big difference when boondocking as you can use electric when the sun is charging the 6 100Ah batteries. Or save the batteries to run your AC's in the evening and put the fridge on propane. The park has "iffy" power the solar with compensate. The park only has 30 amp, no problem the solar will compensate. The "Nautilus" plumbing system is super user friendly and making switching between wet and dry camping (or just road days) easy. The lippert leveling system is also easy to use. And the instruction are on the side opening cargo door so you can actually read it without doing the limbo (think Montana). Fully loaded at 15,000 lbs this unit pulls great. All the extras help make it easy to tow with minimal bucking and sway. I pulled with a 2022 GMC 3500 Duramax Diesel (also for sale with purchase of RV) and climbed every hill with ease and the exhaust brake and towing systems controlled the load on the steepest downhills. 2020 Grand Design Solitude was perfect for our full-time living with kids. Large living room with 2 slide-outs and giant windows, large kitchen with island, 2 bedrooms (one fits a king size mattress) the other we converted to a bunk room, lots of storage, washer & dryer, large fresh water and gray tanks - all these made it comfortable for full time living and traveling. We got a nice solar setup and a generator and were able to boondock for over a week at a time. Lots of great memories! The 2020 model is also great because it is fairly new but still pre-pandemic so the quality is there. Show less

This is our second Grand Design Solitude. Our experience with Grand Design customer service after the sale has been fantastic. This is not the dealers unfortunately but we all know the dealer service departments leave a lot to be desired. Every RV has issues, in my book it is how the manufacture handles those issues. Grand Design has been top A++ We are getting ready to order our third Grand Design Solitude all due to the fantastic service we have received. Thank you Grand Design for being the best RV Manufacture in my opinion. Show less
