We bought a brand new 2022 Grand Design Momentum 395 MS in June 2022. We shortly started having issues with everything. The door couldn't be shut unless you slam it. The garage door and track broke. We weren't able to use the patio or entrance at all. The sewer line cracked and started leaking. (Not during winter months). The wall separating the garage from living room separated from the ceiling. The walls were coming apart in the bedroom. The furnace would not turn on in the middle of the night unless I got up and turned it on manually every one-two hours. We had the ignitor board fixed. This only worked for a couple of weeks and then we started having the same issue again. We took it into Bish's where it sat for 5 months while they tried to fix everything. They ended up replacing the entire furnace and everything else. The ceiling immediately separated again. The oven ignitor went out and the entire oven had to be replaced. After another couple of weeks the furnace started doing the same thing. We had the motherboard replaced and the command center. The ignitor board went out again and had to be replaced. We had to replace the female power outlet to connect to power. We soon discovered that the water system is completely defective and started leaking after 20+ hours of repairs we finally stopped the leaking. Due to the tubing and clamp job they did during manufacturing the entire water system needs to be relined and redone. The lines in the shower need to be redone requiring the walls to be removed. The lines underneath the sink all need to be fixed as well. We fixed the propane regulator finally fixing the furnace issue during the night. After 3 months of infrequent use of the BRAND NEW furnace the motor burned out again. The entire venting system is not correctly done. Per the Suburban manual we are supposed to have 4.4 vents we barely have 3 and that was after fixing the 4 inch vent we had the one in the kitchen opened out more because it was never completely opened during manufacturing and occluded approximately 85%. The foam seal was blocking the air flow we were only receiving 1 x 1.5 in of air flow through a 4 inch duct. In order to prevent the motor from continuing to burn out we need to add another 4 inch and 1.5 in vent. We use this 5th wheel for work. We are unable to leave it anywhere for very long without winterizing it because since the furnace won’t work everything will freeze. This is a defective unit. Since the duct system is a preexisting issue NWAN will not cover these expenses. The faulty duct system is causing the motor in the furnace to burn out and it only takes a couple of uses of the furnace to burn it out. The issues with this camper has disrupted our work, displaced my family, and has cost us thousands of dollars in repairs on top of traveling, hotels, loss of food. We are not new to 5th wheels, this being our third. We wanted the Grand Design because it is marketed as a high-quality top of the line product. We are grossly dissatisfied with Grand Design and their customer service team. We have called and are told they are unable to disclose any information about our claim only the agent can. I have sent two emails since 1/4/2024 and have not received any responses. We have already spoken to the dealership. We don't think us eating $35,000 + is fair for a defective product Grand Design manufactured. We are defeated and done. Our family is separated and displaced. The issues are never ending, we feel like we finally get everything fixed and the next day it’s something else. We don’t want this camper anymore or any other camper that Grand Design has touched.

If you're looking to spend six figures for an RV that has very little storage, a Norcal refrigerator that's never worked, slide outs that break within 13 months and switches engineered with telephone wire, this is the RV for you. In two years, I've had it back for warranty work (which was not done) four times. The refrigerator is nothing more than a giant magnet occupying 50% of my kitchen. The few times the freezer momentarily worked, it quickly stopped, resulting in an inch of water pooling in the bottom of the freezer. The bathroom has minimal storage and the slide out for the master stopped working before a year, so driving around with our closet two feet into the road is always a blast. We've made many friends at RV parks who flag us down to let us know about our protruding slide out and rust streaming down the side thanks to the leaking water heater. Because the slide out is broken we have the joy of not being able to use the right side of the master closet or getting out of the bed without slamming our knee into it. The back switch that moves the toy hauler bed up and down stopped working, so we are unable to drive any vehicles in or out of the toy hauler without hot wiring the switch (which incidentally is a phone cord). The toy hauler bathroom black tank won't empty (the lever is stuck) and the self leveling worked precisely four times, so playing marbles is always an option for rainy nights. We love betting which direction the marble will travel. We opted to dissect the showerhead and found it offers a multitude of water pressure regulators ensuring any female has zero chance of washing her hair. The kitchen faucet completely came off. Just as if someone has sawed it off with a machete. For reference, we are a couple in our fifties. No small children terrorizing the camper. It's been used fewer five times. To be fair, it does tow well. I'd suggest finding an alternative.

We thoroughly enjoyed this rv. We used the garage space for an office and Art Studio. Painting and framing supplies all on board as we traveled. The dogs loved the back deck. Ability to see out and watch passers by. The floorplan has a dinette - a place to sit down with a plate. The sectional seating / heated recliners were wonderful for watching tv. The kitchen was a joy! plenty of space to make gourmet meals - pantry storage, pan storage - it really had it all. The Furion appliances were great. Golf clubs, art gear, dog crate............. all the room you could ask for. The bathroom shower had a seat and shelves for your stuff. Under the bed storage. I highly recommend the floorplan and the Grand Design builders. Debra Vance, Artist

We purchased this RV because we wanted opposing couches, along with a dinning table and large kitchen. This is the only toy hauler on the market we were able to find that fit all these criteria. We lived in this full-time for over 6 months and absolutely loved it. At first we weren't sure if the exterior storage space would be large enough, but we were able to bring along everything we needed (and more). The large water tanks combined with over 60 gallon capacity for fuel allowed us to boondock without hookups for multiple weeks without needing to fill up or dump. We used the garage area as a kids room/play room and it worked out excellent. The One Control center was great as well that we could control the RV from our phones. This allowed us to adjust the air at night, turn on exterior and interior lights, water pump, etc... from anywhere around the RV. If we could go back, we would get this exact RV again. No question!

We purchased this new from the dealer and we were told that it had been fully checked out and it was ready to go. That night stopped at the Sultan sea for the night and found that the ac in the bedroom didn't work.made it home the next day and hooked up everything. The refrigerator did not work also and water ran across the kitchen floor from under the bathroom wall, the propane water heater did not work either. I took it to the local dealer in Yuma for repairs after five weeks they called and said that it was ready and everything works. Took it home and hooked it up only to find that nothing was repaired and now the membrane by the bedroom ac was torn open. Called the dealer and was told that everything worked fine and that didn't damage the roof. Called grand design and they wanted me to take it back to the factory for repairs. Ended up fixing it myself. The refrigerator had a fan switch that wasn't connected to anything hooked that up now works. The propane water heater the 12 volt power supply wire had no connector on it repaired that now that works. Repaired the roof by the ac unit and found that the thermal coupler in the bedroom was never installed repaired that now it works. The water leak was from several loose connections around the shower fixed that and no more leaks. Grand Design has a 255 point check list they obviously don't do it. An 80k dollar pile of ready made grief.

Like many others we purchased our Grand Design based off the floor plan, nice looking interior, supposedly good warranty, and that it is touted as being a great RV for full timing. We had done our research and visited several dealers before making our decision. We saw many negative reviews for Grand Design, but to be honest every RV manufacture had the same including Keystone which we had owned previously with no problems. We don't take lightly leaving negative reviews for any business, but especially a smaller American family run business, however I really also hate to see any other families in our situation. *For those wanting the short version. On the first night out with our brand new 2019 Grand Design 395M that was purchased for full-time living we discovered the refrigerator, generator, shower, and back awning were all faulty and not functioning. It has been eight weeks and two dealers later and our RV still has not had one repair done. Grand Design really talks up their warranty and customer service departments but absolutely no action, it's clear their beautiful trailers are cosmetic only and they use crap parts to build, and the three authorized dealers we have dealt with so far (the one we purchased it from and the two we've had it at for repairs) are just as bad for customer service. This has been a nightmare purchase and at this point we are out $80,00 for something unusable and falling apart from literally day one and we will have to peruse a legal battle to recoup any money back.* We are a military family who decided we wanted to full time for our last assignment. We are tired of throwing our money away on rent and it's the only way we could afford to purchase an RV to use for our retirement in a couple years (we had sold our previous Keystone to move overseas). My husband had looked at many Grand Designs on trips back to the States and we were excited with the 395M floor plan. We found a dealer near Atlanta Georgia selling a new 2019 model with reduced price so they could make room for the 2020 models and thought we had found our home. There was a delay in us being able to pick it up because of Covid and we had to wait two months, but was assured it was ready for us to live in as we had made it very clear to the dealer that this would be our full time residence and that my husband only had one week to settle us in before leaving for five months of training. We drove the RV to our new base in Mississippi and that first night out the fridge wouldn't cool. We had no time to drive clear back to Georgia and hoped that it would be an easy fix so decided to take it to a Grand Design dealer near the area. The next morning before we could even get the trailer to the dealer the shower flooded and the generator wouldn't work either. That dealer had our RV for five weeks supposedly trying to make repairs but then told us they wouldn't work on it anymore since they weren't the selling dealer and we were getting frustrated with the lack of/and slow response from Grand Design warranty department. By this point my husband had left for training and my daughters and I had been homeless paying for hotels out of pocket and bumming on our college sons bedroom floor. When it became apparent that nothing would be solved I contacted a lawyer only to be told to file a Lemon Law Suit the manufacture has 60 days and two failed attempts to make repairs so we had my husband leave his training and fly out to move our trailer to another dealer in hopes of the repairs being done, they have had it three weeks and it's still not fixed. We have been eight weeks without the $80,000 RV we purchased to be our home! Also, during this time our son who is at college in Alabama had an accident while mountain biking and broke his back in six places, cracked several ribs, and collapsed a lung. After six days in the hospital he was released to our care, but I had no home to bring him too. We had to continue staying on the floor of his condo caring for him for three weeks which was really awkward since he has roommates! Now that he can move around more on his own my daughters and I are living in a nasty Motel 6 so we can still be close to help drive him to all his doctor appointments and therapies. I own a brand new $80,000 trailer that I should be able to move wherever I need and live in, except it's falling apart and has been in repair shops since the first night out! I also need to register my daughters for school that starts next week in Mississippi, but can't because I don't have a place to live. All our money is tied up in this new trailer and the new truck we purchased to tow it because we were going to full time so I don't have the money to even rent an apartment. What was supposed to be a smart financial decision has been an expensive nightmare. What was supposed to be a fun family experience has left us all anxious and stressed. All I can say is beware of Grand Design trailers.

June 2020 our Norcold Fridge which by the way sells for approximately $5000.+ broke...GD would not pay to have someone come out to fix it because we were in a small beach town at the time...so we had to take everything out of the fridge and freezer and put it on ice, needless to say we still lost hundreds of dollars in food...we ended up taking it to a service shop which they did the least expensive way to fix it, by resetting the temperature switch, which worked up until July 9th..had another service person come and replace a fuse which again worked for about an hour..now its completely dead...GD refuses to reimburse food loss, service call and Christine Holland at the GD company basically told us too bad its our problem... we bought this brand because we heard that they work with full time RV'ers and that they provide service throughout the US and Canada without having to bring the trailer to someone..THEY LIED!!! they don't care if you are full timing, they said its not their problem, that they do not care about our loss or inconvenience !!!!

Didn't have a toy until we bought this and purchased a golf cart to tote along and was plenty of space and easy to load. The Bedroom has king size bed which is nice (not a huge fan of odd size due to rounded headboard but know that's a norm. Tons of storage throughout. The only thing we weren't a fan of is the length. It's super long so beware of that - great for stopping and staying for awhile but not the easiest to stop and go.

I bought my brand new trailer in April, 2019. It has been back to the dealer a couple of times. Before it even left my driveway for its first camping trip, the generator quit. While we were camping, the rear awning flew off the rig! There was nothing more than a very gentle breeze. Another Momentum owner came over and said his did the same thing. The small screws are not enough to hold it on. I found our pantry under water. I decided to remove the 4 screws to the access panel inside and found mold growing inside the wall. Water also got into the furnace and caused it to quit. The water was coming from a loose pipe to the shower faucet. I realized that I must fix things myself unless I want to permanently park it at the dealer. The refrigerator also quit. The ceiling in the bedroom leaked in the last rain storm. The wall covering next to the kitchen sink is loose. The black tank cable to the rear bathroom is seized so I can't drain the tank. Ugh! The list just goes on and on. On the plus side, it appears to be well set up for camping in cold weather. I've had some nights down to 12 degrees Fahrenheit with no issues. A lack of cabinets in the garage has me bewildered. I added some. The dealer sometimes doesn't get things right the first time so I've learned to just repair this myself as much as possible.
