Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE reviews

Anyone having trouble with the slide-out should contact Lippert Tech directly. There was a recall on units made between Oct. 2021 and Jan. 2022. They didn't inform anyone, Not even the Grand Design dealers. After I contacted them, they said ours would be replaced free of charge, parts and labor. Just waiting to get ours into the shop. We bought our 2022 Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE in February 2022 and I have been so pleased with it and the layout and design , along with all of its storage space under the bed and the pantry. The only thing I replaced was the mattress . We have not had any problems with our trailer and have been very pleased with the quality and performance of our trailer. Show less

We purchased our MLE in 2022. We are upgrading to a bigger RV and was reading reviews on the potential new buy and discovered that the reviews are likely skewed because most are from unhappy owners that have had problems, so I decided to give my review. The MLE has been awesome. Other than user error, there have been absolutely no problems. The quality is what we expected. The mattress was replaced on day 1, but that seems to be an industry standard to put garbage bedding in. The cushions on the dinette could have been a denser foam, but I’m just nit-picking to give a deep sense of this camper. Show less

My 22MLE has a problem with the safety chains. Because of the poorly designed way of attaching them to the trailer, the chains are held in a bind and are over halfway eaten through. Grand design is trying to blame it on my E4 hitch, but my hitch head doesn’t have a mark on it. I spoke with Josh at GD, and he was pretty crappy about it. Not what i expected after dropping those kinds of dollars. Grand Design, as a company, sucks. Zero customer service. I have no choice but to buy new chains and have them properly attached to the trailer so this can’t happen. Just another thing the NTSB should be asking them about. We love our TT, but this sorry customer no service makes me wish we’d spent that money elsewhere. I don’t like learning that I’ve partnered with company that gives the middle finger to its customers. Grand Design Imagine XLS 22mle owners beware. Check your chains. It’s not just the 22MLE, as we have friends who have a larger GD, and they have the same problem expect their chain is almost completely chewed through. Great couples camper. Bed was a little hard for us so we put a Tempur-pedic topper on it and we sleep good on it now. The theater seats are awesome with massage and heat. Super easy to tow and park. We have a Toyota Tundra and it hardly feels like we are towing anything since it only has a dry weight of 5176 lbs. Arctic insulation making this a 4 seasons camper is a plus. The quality is excellent. It has 1 slide out that moves out almost the entire side making a large living area that will surprise you for a 22 foot camper. TONS of storage areas. The self cleaning shower door and porcelain commode is a nice touch. The widow shades are darkening and made of very high quality material. We would highly recommend taking a look at this one! Great company, quality trailer. Only around 1500 miles. Non smoker, no children, no pet. Real Mattress Firm queen bed. Excellent support from Grand Design. I am 72 years old. It is light weight, 5180lbs. I traveled from Texas with this trailer in tow behind my Ford Ranger. Built for year round living with enclosed and heated underbelly. Show less

Mike husband and I absolutely loved everything about our Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer. It was the perfect balance of big enough for all of our needs and comforts and small enough to pull with our Durango and to fit at every campsite. The features and quality are top of the line. We purchased our grand design imagine at Colton RV in Hamburg, New York. Got home and the refrigerator does not work, we find a crack on the kitchen counter, and a large gap in the corner wall be the bed. Colton RV will not return our phone calls. We called Grand Design and after being on hold for over an hour we talked to Stephanie, she gave us permission to go to an unauthorized dealer to get it fixed. We need a new refrigerator, the one in there is not repairable. Local dealership emailed Stephanie what the problem with the refrigerator is. Called Stephanie 2 days later she said she will get a refrigerator ordered but they may be on backorder, she will email us the next day. 2 days later we call again, on hold for over an hour again to find out she is off today. Of course it’s Friday. We are supposed to leave for a three week vacation with our camper in 12 days. We are on hold right now trying to find out from someone other than Stephanie if a refrigerator has been ordered or not. Very poor customer service so far. It has been 6 phone calls to Colton RV within the past week and no return phone calls back. We will be checking to see if there is a lemon law with an RV like there is with automobiles. Show less

This is my 3rd trailer and is easily the best built, best laid out and most user friendly of the three. It is the perfect couples trailer and feels huge inside. It tows perfectly and is just really sexy. I would highly recommend this trailer to anyone looking the perfect couples trailer you can fit in your driveway and tow with a small pick-up truck or mid size suv. Show less

When I received my unit and set on the lot the water didn’t work (bad wire connection) the recliner trip cable assembly fell apart, there was a water leak at the on board pump took 3weeks to find I now have mold and mildew underneath diinet aseat by bathroom. Refrigerator stop cooling, paid $150.00 for service call to repair was working for 2 days then quit again. Service check and determined it was beyond repair, a new one was ordered, it’s been 8days and have not received a-delivery date. iI live in this unit. Service from Ron Hoover and Grandesign is terrible Show less
