We had a 42 foot Alpine, and traded it in on this one, as we planned to travel more and the ease of smaller unit appealed to us. We are retirees, and hoped this would be our 6th and final RV. What a mistake!!! Nothing but problems from the start. First trip (end of September) my feet froze while doing Dishes....the wind was very noticeable under the sink and cabinets. The dealer said the furnace needed a fresh air intake from inside the trailer.... but, the wind was coming in when we were NOT using the furnace! They fixed with spray foaming all the "holes". The sliding door in the bedroom continued to come off the rails every time we moved. There was a freezer tray missing, and the fridge made a God awful noise every time it kicked in! We were told all these noises were normal, yet, never experienced in the 5 other Brand new units we owned! Also, the flimsy little plastic bar that was to hold the fridge doors closed, just bent, and allowed the door to open several times. They offered to "sell" us a latch (are you kidding me!?) We finally fixed it ourselves with a latch used to babyproof cupboard doors!Although equipped with a solar panel, the hot water on demand makes it difficult to boon dock as you use a half tank of water for it to get warm depleting water supply, and filling tanks! There was a screw under the lino in the bedroom, that we fortunately caught soon enough that a hole was not created. Although our vehicles receive radio reception - the indoor radio does not receive anything! Our next trip was to Southern USA in February. We had been on the road for over a week, but it was when we got to California that it was warm enough to just have the screen door open. That s when we noticed the door was falling apart. It was progressively getting more and more difficult to close, and at times it took two of us to actually close it! The bottom corner of the door was cracked, peeling was being hid behind the plate of the screen door. Long story short it took THREE (3) doors before they finally got it right.....and it still is giving us grief. Doesn't close properly. The table had to be replaced because it started cracking.....obviously they stained it prior to it being properly dried. Grand Design finally, in good faith, gave us an additional 6 months warranty - but as this was granted in October, it would run out before we actually got to use the trailer again, so really, was it in good faith? Not! I know there are law suits regarding the frames of some of the models....although our unit isn't listed in the law suit yet, I'm sure it is the problem with the door not closing properly. In any case, I know it wont be our last RV, but will steer very clear of Grand Design, and really any dealership that sells them as our experience with the dealer was about as good as with the manufacturer. Our experience with this rv was wonderful. The floor plan is good for a couple orr a small family Very large living room with comfortable recliners And a firepkace No major issues. Service was great Tows easy. Sets up in minutes. Auto level system Worked excellent I would recommend this unit Show less

We purchased the unit new in April of 2023 and use it about every other weekend during the summer. After the first couple of trips the door would no longer close and stay latched. If you bump into the valance surrounding the shades, they fall off. On our first long trip the main shade came completely off the wall. It was held on by only two screws that weren't screwed into anything solid. First time we wanted to put the table down for the grand kids to sleep on we found out it is off center by 3/4-inch, one side sits up on the bench. Sliding door to the bedroom kept breaking the plastic support on the floor. After several fixes I figured out the door was not or barely attached to the ceiling, again screws not put into anything solid like a stud. On a hot day you might as well get a motel room as the sewer smell will drive you out. Pulled the vent cap and found the plastic vapor barrier was installed right over the vent hole. Entertainment system has a DVD player which is good for the kids only trouble is, is that it is not a blueray player so I had to buy one of those, I was told that if we want to use the radio, we will need to buy an antenae to get any signal. Open a window, good luck getting it closed all the way. Solar cell, what a joke, we were told we could run the fridge in reduced power mode and all would be good, Nice if you want to park it without power between camping weekends. Just like everything else with this Turd, the Grand Design is Grand Failure. I can't even, in good conscience sell it or trade it in without being honest about the issues. The floor plan is great. Plenty of room and layed out well. All appliances have worked very well. We really love the refrigerator 12 v and large. The unit tows well and is very easy to hook up with the auto hitch to original function. Excellent warranty and great service when needed Show less

Great floor plan! Walk around Queen bed with lots of storage. Love the living and kitchen areas! Solar fridge is a game changer for keeping food cold! Outside kitchen and storage is helpful. Has great 3rd closet with optional washer dryer hookup. Show less

I used to own a trailer dealership and I have hauled every size trailer. This trailer hauls and travels great. It has been a great trailer. I had a bad fridge but it was replaced. The only disappointment is the rust on the powder coated Lippert frame. Show less

Love the camper but have had FOUR GE air conditioning units go down in less the TWO years! And we are not full timers. We didn't even take it out during the hot part of the summer in our second season for fear it would fail again... and sure enough. First trip out this summer and another AC unit went down. Annoying beyond words. If Grand Design doesn't change AC brands I will not be able to buy another unit from them, which is a shame because we love everything else about it. I will say, so far Grand Design has replaced all the units and my dealer has made the exchange as easy as possible but it is still a MAJOR pain. We live an hour from our dealer. Show less

Having owned and used my Grand Design Reflection for 6 months, I now have a better understanding of the positive and negative aspects of the equipment. For me the positives are as follows: 1. solar panel and 12V residential refrigerator. 2. Waste water output pipe 20" from ground. 3. Cabinets and pantry storage space. 4. Tankless hot water heater. 5. Fireplace colors and heat effectiveness. 6. Lots of power outlets. 7. Electric kitchen ceiling fan with wall controls. Vents to outside. Negatives that we have experienced are as follows: 1. Bathroom ceiling fan opens manually and fan switch located on ceiling fan. For shorter people this design does not work well without some form of stepping stool. Poor design! 2. Refrigerator door frequently comes open during travel. 3. Fifth wheel shakes when anyone is walking around inside. 4. Reclining chairs are not secure and move during travel. Show less

My wife and I purchased our Grand Design Reflection on 11/14/23 form Brown's RV Superstore in Mabee S.C. This is our permanent home now. So far so good. The problem has been attitude dealing with customer service at Grand Design. We have only rolled out our awnings three or four times and the main awning has a tear in it. I sent pictures to the dealership and was told to contact Grand Design. My wife called and talked to Davida Horner and she was very rude to my wife. Then I talked to Davida Horner and she was very rude and short with me. I'm sure the seventy thousand dollars we spent is not a big thing to a company this size but that's a lot of money to us. Davida Horner did not try to help in any way. We kinda thought maybe they would kinda give us a little help but no. The name grand design would lead you to think that things were engineered well. How do you engineer the clothes closet without enough hanging length for your clothes to be too long not to be all wrinkled at the bottom. There are two drawers below the hanging space that could have been made shorter so your clothes could hang normally. Or elemenated for proper hanging in the closet. Do not put things in the tubs in the front storage area the tubs are thin cheap plastic and they break out and cave in. The spray on the cabinets is so poorly done light spots showing through nail holes not finished properly. Don’t let the name grand design fool you not well thought through at all Show less
