Save your money and buy a different brand, I understand things fall apart while your towing your camper, but for them to use 1/8” staples to attaché trim moldings and self taping screws to hold in the fuse box that completely fell apart while towing is a joke. We are now dealing with roof leaks and dry rot, woke up to a puddles of water in the bedroom, called an RV repair guy and he went up on the roof and there are bubbles everywhere, the roof is separating from the membrane, by the way the roof was serviced by the dealer 5 months ago, and they said its all good, now certain spots your foot will go through if you stepped hard enough! Should have bought the Jayco, the $8K difference is well worth it! We’ll see what’s next! But what a lemon. And no customer service department will not do a damn thing. Show less

This camper is three years old! The bedroom window frame is falling in, it isn't covered by the warranty, the refrigerator died over the weekend, this is the second refrigerator in this rig. They did replace the bathroom faucet for customer service reasons. I am so disappointed with this company. This is my second Grand Design, I upgraded from a 2017 Reflection because of the quality. This one is pure crap and I am so disappointed. I spent a lot on this and every weekend I wonder what next? Show less

If you're thinking about buying a Grand Design RV—don’t. I trusted this brand, and by extension, Winnebago Industries. I believed I was investing in quality, reliability, and peace of mind. Instead, my Momentum 397 has been a constant source of frustration—frame flex, upper deck separation, and a manufacturer that refuses to take real responsibility. The “repairs” they offer are nothing more than temporary patches. The problems keep coming back. I’ve tried escalating—respectfully, professionally—even CC’ing Grand Design CEO Don Clark. They didn’t help. They blocked my emails. And now, they’ve blocked me on Facebook too—because they don’t want real customers telling the truth. Saturday, I refused delivery of my camper. It’s already on its way back to Indiana. I was explicitly clear: the unit was to return spotless. Instead, it came back in worse condition than when it left. Here’s the reality: Paint: More defects than before, especially in the phylon area. Phylon: Scratched beyond belief—it was flawless before Grand Design touched it. Cleanliness: Metal drill shavings on the floor, sawdust throughout the unit (even in the rear sink), and someone stood on our mattress with shoes. TV & Mounting: The main TV was loose during transit, bouncing around and damaging the mount. Caulking: Sloppy, rushed, and careless. Missing in spots, globbed in others, smeared all over. Water Intrusion: Water in the front compartment near the batteries—clear negligence. This is appalling. I trusted Grand Design with my camper, and instead of being repaired to a higher standard, it was returned in a condition that’s flat-out insulting. If this is the level of detail on visible items, how can I trust that the actual repairs were done correctly? I’ve taken extensive photos documenting every issue and will be sending them in multiple emails. At this point, we have a serious problem. I expect a conference call Monday with every responsible party—including Don Clark and, if necessary, the CEO of Winnebago. No excuses. And to top it off, a Grand Design dealer offered me $49,000 on trade for a unit with an MSRP of $185,000. That’s how little they value their own product. This isn’t just my story—it’s happening to others too. Grand Design knows it. Winnebago knows it. But they’re not stepping in. We deserve better. Show less

The 2022 Grand Design Solitude 390RK is a standout in the luxury fifth-wheel market, offering a unique rear kitchen floorplan that truly feels like home. I would not recommend due to issues with slide out seals, auto leveling, toilet flush out leak, incorrectly installed door frames, screw falling off under the master closet and screw coming up through the floor in front of the master closet. Grand Design refuses to replacement the parts that were damaged before we bought the fifth wheel brand new or the parts that have failed to work right after purchase. They are using deny, delay, defend tactics. We have lost months of use of our fifth wheel and see no end in sight. Show less

Rv was assembled in a hurry. Very poor and sloppy workmanship. End result is missing parts, things falling apart. Excess frame flex/failure. Wrong bolts, missing bolts, bad welds, suspension failure, bad frame design, things falling apart. Serious safety issues. To many corners were cut to make a profit and sacrifices safety. Show less

We purchased the GD in 2022 for long term travel. We have stayed in the 5th wheel for 4 months at a time and love the floor plan. It is perfect for a couple during extended camping. Grand Design was highly sought after before 2020 and was highly rated. During our first year of ownership we found trim falling off, entry door not lining up, water leakage around lights on ceiling and a piece of plastic lodged into the rear ac. Things you would not have found during a 6 hour walk through. Warranty has been less than stellar and support has been minimal from GD. We cringe every time we hear of recalls and are hoping we are not the 1% ending up with frame damage and being denied. At this point we love our fifth wheel but have no confidence in the GD models. Our previous RV was a Keystone Toy Hauler 2012 and was built much better than the GD. I will not own another GD model. Show less

The floor plan is similar to other rigs with the opposing slides. This maximizes the living area and kitchen. Design wise the kitchen slide is large and on a Shwintek system. We have had this replaced under warranty. Would like to have lights over the island, for some reason this unit does not have them. The rig tows very well, and storage is good. Show less

We like that there is a large bathroom with plenty of cabinets. Love the wet bar area for more storage but we rarely use the sink. The layout was well executed. The under storage is more than plenty. Should have been made with higher weighted axel better yet should have added an axel due to long back overhang that will drag on any uneven surfaces. Has been a big issue. The company can’t give their wiring semantics bc they don’t follow any set policy. Warranty was an absolute joke. Things (stove, water heater, trim drawers) started breaking 1 week after the warranty ended. The extended warranty was not able to be utilized either. Fine print! The cost has been marked up high and the quality degraded on these 5th wheel. This is really a 60,000. at most 5th wheel. If you pay 100,000. You should get good quality. The company that makes these things seriously lacks integrity. Would we buy same brand? Probably not. There is too much of a monopoly in the RV industry. People are being taken advantage of. Purchased a 2022 Grand Design 260rd in Sept. 2021. Have been able to camp in it just 5 times and 2 of those times cut short due to issues. Slide out has been ongoing issue and the entire camper had to be taken to the factory to install a new entire wall on the slide out side. Refrigerator has broken down twice now and has cancelled our latest planned camping trip. The unit has been in the shop for more time than we have been able to camp.Our dealer is doing all they can but Grand Design people are a joke. Elizabeth from their customer service told me that there was no one I could talk to about the on going issues other than her for a long time and then I got her to admit there were people over her but I could not talk to them. She had to send them an email and see if they would respond to me. Of course. I've heard nothing from them. DO NOT BUY A GRAND DESIGN product. You will be grossly disappointed in their customer service and their willingness to stand behind their product. Show less
