2019 Grand Design Reflection reviews

We’ve owned our 2019 Grand Design Reflection 287RLTS for several seasons now, and it continues to impress us with its thoughtful design, residential comfort, and reliable build quality. This travel trailer strikes a perfect balance between livability and towability, making it an ideal choice for extended weekends or even full-time use. Pros: Spacious Rear Living Area: The panoramic rear windows flood the living space with natural light, and the theater seating is incredibly comfortable for relaxing after a day of adventure. The U-shaped dinette offers plenty of room for meals and easily converts into a bed when needed. High-End Kitchen: We love the solid-surface countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and deep sink. The 12 cu-ft fridge (ours was upgraded in 2023) keeps everything cold, and there’s no shortage of storage. Four-Season Capable: With its heated and enclosed underbelly, high-BTU furnace, and ducted A/C, the trailer stays comfortable in both hot and cold weather. It’s well-insulated and holds up well in unpredictable climates. Build Quality: The laminated walls and aluminum framing provide a sturdy feel, and everything still works smoothly after years of light use. Towability: At under 9,000 lbs dry weight and around 33 feet in length, it’s manageable for most ¾-ton trucks. The hitch setup and weight distribution are simple and stable. Minor Cons: Bathroom Size: While functional, the bathroom is a bit tight—especially the shower for taller folks. Limited Exterior Storage: Pass-through storage is adequate but could be more generous for longer trips. Overall, this is one of the best non-bunkhouse travel trailers in its class. The 287RLTS delivers residential-style comfort in a package that’s easy to tow and live in. It’s been a joy to own, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a premium rear-living floorplan. Show less

We brought a Lancer travel trailer in 2019. I will never buy Lance trailer again. We have a lemon it has broken down 10 times. And we wait for parts for ever. It’s in the shop again waiting on parts. They had for a month. If you are thinking of buying a lance run don’t walk they are garbage. Show less

I purchased a Grand Design RV because they reportedly were a high quality unit and excelled at customer service. My refrigerator failed after the first year and was repaired under warranty. The repair failed less than a year later. This time I was told I was on the hook for repairs as the warranty had expired. This in spite of the ongoing problems with the refrigerator. I called Grand Design and they couldn't have cared less. They said it was Dometic's problem as they manufactured the refrigerator. I was stunned that a company that advertised themselves as wanting customers for life treats their customers this way. Grand Design doesn't stand behind their product. To say that they have customer service is an oxymoron. Show less

We bought this RV because Grand Design was purported as producing a high quality product with an emphasis on customer service. The overall quality of the RV is good but the Dometic components are junk. Also, Grand Design customer service is non-existent. Their mode of operation is to sidestep any responsibility for problems and defer the customer to the manufacturer of the problematic component. The customer has to do all of the leg work! When the warranty expires you are on your own whether the problem is fixed or not. Show less

We love the layout and it tows nice but pray no problems arise. Grand Design claims to make customer service a priority but nothing could be further from the truth. Their customer service procedure is simply to shirk responsibility and defer you to the manufacturer of whatever component you have problems with. The customer is left to fend for themself and at their expense. Show less

We have loved our 312bhts. The quality of the trailer is superior to other brands we have owned. If you get a chance I recommend going on the manufacturing tour to see the attention to detail that is put into each coach. We have had great warranty support from both the factory and the extended warranty company. With that being said we haven't had anything major that needed repairing such as the slide-outs, frame, electric, or plumbing but the minor repairs have been handled to my satisfaction. We love the floor plan, enough room for our 3 kids and our 2 four-legged friends. I would definitely recommend both this model (floor plan) and the manufacturer. Show less

Because of the Covid pandemic we were only able to take this on one camping trip. I’ve previously owned several 5th wheels in the past but this was the nicest one I’ve owned. You hardly know you are pulling anything. Easy to park. Very easy to set up. All automatic leveling makes it a breeze. Show less

We are the original owners, perfect for us. We towed it with our Ram 1500 and covered most of the Midwest with it. Easy operation-sets up fast for your enjoyment. I retired and want to upgrade our unit. Show less

I tried different RV's from class A to Travel Trailer we ended up purchasing The Grand Design reflection after doing a search for quality 5th wheels. we find it easy to drive easy to set up and roomie enough for us. thanks Marty Show less

Very comfortable and beautiful 5th wheel, well constructed and well thought out; I especially like the floor plan with center island sink. Pin weight is perfect and pulls amazing. The one issue that we had with an AC unit was handled quickly under warranty with a replacement unit, and haven't had any other issues with it. Show less
