We just purchased our Heartland Bighorn fifthwheel about a month ago. First thing we did was take it out on a two weeks on a test run. A week at the beach and a week in the mountain snow. First of all I would like to say it tows great and looks nice. The floor plan is excellent for oposing slides and the kitchen in the rear of the the rv is great. We have had two with rear living, kitchen in the middle. The windows are huge and makes one feel like they are part of the outdoors. The view out is excellent especially when it is snowing. However the general construction of the rv is very shoddy. Let me elaborate. First we had to unplug one the the electric recliners because the touch swithces on the arm weren't working. The chair was frozen in the up position. Thought unpluggng it would "reboot" the electronics. When I reached back and unplugged the chair the entire plug came out from the wall. It appears it wasn't even anchored. (I have never own heating vibrating recliners before. Is it normal to heat your bottom and not your back?) A short piece of molding in the center at the top of the frame of the window slide out was loose. When examined I found it held by one slightly bent finishing nail. When touched, the nail broke and the molding fell to the floor. I starting examing all the molding on the inside. Here is what I found. The molding they use on the ceiling appears to be make of wood with a cloth or plastic wrap. At the end of the molding when it came to the wall the wrapping was pulled, streached back, and wrinkled about 3 inches. The was true of every piece of molding on the ceiling from the kitchen all the way back into the bedroom up front. Two pieces were cut an inch to short but used any way. Wow. In the shower the molding at the corners isn't securely attached and is already separating from the walls in the corners. I had to pull the refrigerator out to rescue our little parakeet who had gotten out his cage and stuck behind it. After removing the two screws in the bottom front rail in rolls out on the wheels. Under the refrigerator I found sawdust, broken bent staples, and a couple of screws. I guess they forgot to sweep up the floor before installing it. Hmmm. Next there is the four drawer dressor at the foot of the king sized bed. All the drawers work fine. Slide in and out. However the top drawer is crooked, slanted downward with about a quarter of an inch gap at the top when it meets the dresser frame. Really I thought. I continued looking for defeats now that I was finding so many. The toilet is not secured well to the floor. It wiggles when you sit on it. You can wiggle it side to side. I only weigh 156 and my wife 98 lbs. In back of the range there is a venitian loovered blind. The holders at the bottom on the wall are crooked and the installer used very large steel color screws to secure them. (The very same screws used to hold the box frames over the windows. ) One can not insert the bottom rail of the blind into the holders. That brings me to the fact the three of those box frames at the top of the windows are held to the wall with only two screws. One can almost pull them off the wall with a gentle tug. Three of the locks on the extior door will not latch (locked closed) because the are misaligned. On each of the slide outs there is a rubber seal all the way around the edges. On both the main slide outs these seals where left uncut and the excess was hanging down from 8 to 10 inches, the longer one rubbing on one of the tires. Speaking of rubbing on the tires. One of the lower wall black plasted supports had come loose and was handing down. One corner of it had to grinded off rubbing of the front tire. The wall wiggled like jello there because it had no support. (By the door.) One of the exterior electrical plug is held on by only one screw and is starting to separate from the wall. My refrigerator has broken tabs at the bottom of the door and the bottom shelf will not stay attached. My microwave has a metal shelf that want stay up because one of the plastics tabs that holds it it broken. If I could find all of these defects of poor workmanship on the exterior I wonder what may be wrong with things I can not see. (I should have purchased the extended warranty. Following is quote from the front page of Heartland's website. "UNMATCHED QUALITY CONTROL - We double down on quality control. So you and yours can spend some real quality time cruising our country’s natural wonders." Maybe quality control was on vacation when this fifthwheel was assemble? The RV dealer didn't even notice there things I am disappointed with my $80,000 purchase. If you are thinking of purchasing a Heartland Bighorn you might want to look it over carefully before pulling it off the sales lot. Please see my attached pictures.

Took possession of trailer 12 days ago from Camping World. Drove it to Utah, 2000 miles from home. 9 days later fridge stopped working. Called CW and they said to call local dealer. No answer. Called Heartland. They said call people who made fridge, which is Best Buy. They said Heartland is original purchaser so can't help us. Heartland won't send anybody out to fix or replace. We have 1000 employees coming to this job and all have to have trailers. I will not recommend CW or Heartland. Paid for elite good Sam membership and they won't help either

We bought this rv new in April 2021. To date this unit had been in the shop for 6 months of the 16 we’ve owned it. We have had a total of 22 issues to date ranging from a broken AC the first time we took it out, to the power converter going out the day we were supposed to leave for vacation. Then had the tread completely come off a tire on our way home from that vacation. This camper has been a complete nightmare from the day we purchased it. I would NOT recommend buying a Heartland product.
