The king size bed was the main point in getting this particular RV because it’s what we are used to at home. I would recommend it as a first timer as well as for experienced travelers.

We've owned the Heartland Pioneer RD210 for over 2 years. On the first trip we noticed issues. The panel under the sink came apart, the vinyl covering the walls started to peel and the trim under the fridge was swelling. Since that time We've had all kinds of issues. We couldn't get the battery to charge (they never tightened the nuts on the connection from the battery), We've had a pipe collapse because they mounted the pump to close to a joint and it crimped. Then we had several leaks just because they never tightened up the connectors. We had a Jayco for over 20 years and didn't have a quarter of the problems We've had with this Heartland.

We have had our Heartland Mallard M25 for 5 years now. I am going to try and recall the good and the bad of it. At first, the travel trailer had a manual front jack. Not being familiar with the techniques to hitch and unhitch from our tow vehicle, it was a challenge at first. Changing out the manual jack to an electric one pretty much solves the problem, likely along with the wearing in between the ball and cup of the stabilizer. In reading prior to our purchase, there were several articles that highly suggested to have two air conditioners, one for the main cabin, and the other for the bedroom. If that had been an option for this travel trailer, I would have purchased it at the time. However, thanks to You Tube folks, I implemented a pretty good solution to better force the cold air through the plenum to the rear bedroom as we travel to a lot of desert or hot areas out of Las Vegas. There was at least a 40% improvement and the operational noise of the air conditioner is significantly quieter. Initially, there were minor fixes needed like loose moldings and like. However, in speaking with other RV owners, most encounter these type of minor issues. Most owners know that these trailers are pretty quickly slapped together. This trailer is most comfortable for 2 people, though we traveled for the first 4 years with our son and some of his friends (one at a time). The fold out sofa worked well for two teens. Struts for storage under the Queen RV bed needed to installed to keep the storage lid up. We keep the bedroom TV, blankets , pillows and two foot rests for the sofa under there. Upkeep is keen with a travel trailer. Making sure the slide out seals are lubricated and replaced when necessary. The same applies for the outside trim rubber or vinyl pieces. They have a tendency to wear. However, they are easy to replace as well. We have had two tire blowouts while traveling. Being twin axels, the other wheel held up for us in both cases to pull off the road at convenient spots and call AAA to change to the spare. We pull the trailer with our 2017 Nissan Armada. This vehicle has a dynamic suspension (air shocks in the rear). There is a limitation on our towing speed as a result. We keep it around or no more than 60 MPH. There is tendency for the “tail to wag the dog”. A stiffer truck suspension I suspect would resolve the issue. The last trip, our heater control module failed. We had a mobile RV technician come to our park space and replace it. We keep all the outdoor gear in the outdoor storage compartment, fitted in such a way that we pull out everything we need for our outdoor seating area: The 10x12 carpet, 2 Coleman chairs, 2 rocker chairs, the aluminum folding table, Camp Chef two burner stove ( this is a great stove), fire pit. The stove and fire pit are all fitted to accept the trailers propane quick disconnect. We have a “Y” adapter so both can be fitted at the same time. I would say that all and all, our Mallard M25 has worked well as a travel trailer and with the last year of only my wife and I using it, better as a couple’s trailer.

Lots of problems. Floor plan is great. Construction and quality, not so much. Under belly started dropping out after we towed it home, (about 20 miles), then down to OKC from just south of Tulsa about 30 miles. Total pull time miles for us 150 miles. (Except when we took it back to the dealership to fix the underside), then back to the RV park where we keep it. The dealer we purchased it from repaired it. Wall board inside won’t except adhesive hooks for like small wall clocks or anything without peeling off. First time we had it on propane the stove fittings leaked gas out bad. We tightened those up after a near explosion event! 2 years in the refrigerator quit working, hot water gas side quit working, (thankful it was both electric or gas), the thermostat for air conditioning and heating will just quit cycling the air conditioning unit, also the furnace, happens usually on the hottest days or freezing days and nights. Has led to the camper getting very cold or hot if you’re not in it to catch it happening. Replaced the Dometic 310 toilet just this year, leaking around where the pedestal joins the ceramic bowl. You can see daylight around the door frame, the stereo system quit working, the vent fan in the bathroom screen has never stayed on correctly. Let’s see what else. Well that’s about all I can think of tonight. (The thermostat problem has bit us several probably no less than 20 times). When we took it for the under belly repairs told the dealership but they couldn’t duplicate the problem with the thermostat so they wouldn’t warranty it! So, that’s all I have to say about that for now!

I’ll never buy a prowler again.

In 2018 we bought this Heartland Wilderness 27.5. BRAIN NEW. To start with. We found issues when we did the walk through on it. The dealer said NO problem we'll schedule to fix them. Couldn't get a spot scheduled for six mths. When it was about time to get the repairs. The dealer was moving their shop so we were put off for 4 mths. waiting to get a spot, again 6 mths. out. Now the warranty is off. And we've experienced a leak in one of the slides. And the screws at the front roof seem are popping. And nails in the paneling are popping. Windows leaking. No problem we had paid for the extended warranty. So we thought. Then we were told that the manufactured defects aren't covered by extended warranty. Meanwhile more problems. When we did get it into the shop. The dealer spent 4 mths blowing smoke UOA and only connected 2 lights that had not worked from day one. At that point they were closing their shop because of Covid. Since then we've fixed some of the roof leeks ourself. And started to work on some of the other problems. When upgrading lighting we've discovered no insulation in a lot of the ceiling. Same thing in walls. Hole stud spaces with NO insulation at all. In inspecting windows leeks we've found more broke screws. Like in the roof. Seems like over torking was popular everywhere. We had bought this trailer for OUR retirement. Paid top dollar thinking we were getting a quality trailer. WE DID NOT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRAILER OR THIS MANUFACTURE FOR ANYTHING.

Bought my Toy Hauler brand new. Love the floor plan. I did remove the fold down beds in the rear and replaced with 2 nice recliners. Overall the Toy Hauler has been fun to own. Problem now is the Alpha TPO roof has failed and I need to replace rotten wood and install a new membrane. Alpha Systems are supposed to be warranteed for 12 years and like all of the RV companies I have yet to hear back from them in regards to the warranty. I have inspected, washed and caulked every year. When not in use I have a very expensive waterproof Cover for it. Anyone else have a Alpha Systems roof failer. ??
