We purchased this and it hadn't been maintained well and needed tires. Once we went through it and cleaned it up we have had no issues. Bought 2006 a few years ago with 43000 mi.have since full timed in it and love it.the quality,customer support at Red Bay( been there 3X)and everything about it.I had a 40 ft Gulfstream Tourmaster prior and hated it,no customer support,low quality.Tiffin is the only motor home I will buy from now on. Purchased it used of coarse, Clean, floor plan was what we were looking for. Few things need to be fixed, but its used. 20K miles is nothing on it. Only problem is trying to find paint for touch up. Have few little nicks,rubbed out most every light scratch. Sticker in door is faded. Tiffin didnt keep records past 2006. May hit auto shop for touch up stuff and some clear coat. Need to remove that cracked plastic film on nose. So far happy with it. Did a week test trip, all was good. 7.3 mpg in stop n go traffic for 5 hours. Should get closer to 8mpg on rd with cruise on. That was with toad on dolly. Show less

They are beautiful on the outside and all you hear about is service. They DO NOT service their own vehicles over 10 years your on your own. The doors leak over time from the top rail and rot the steps out. They have a very top heavy feel to them with alot of sway. I have driven cross country for 20 years and these feel very loose. The wetbay had a recall but if you didn't have it fixed in that time your out of luck, they will not touch it and the tanks will fall out look on Youtube. Also the roof will leak these are not one piece fiberglass and you will not notice it until it shows on your ceiling. I still have mine but its a constant battle to keep it up and I also have a 70 foot shop to keep mine in and it only has 25000 miles . So dont fall for the beauty if you dont like to work hard. This Tiffin Phaeton has be a joy to own. Although we have had it just 2 years. My health has prevented us from using more. We have traveled through 18 states. The coach is comfortable, easy to handle and decent on fuel (8+ mpg). When all 4 slides are open, the asinine out it feels like we are at home in our living room. We constantly get comments on what a nice RV we have. 6 surgeries in the last 2 years really limits my movement so I must let someone us enjoy the terrific coach. Show less

We bought this outstanding class A diesel motorhome new @ Lazy DaysIn. FL.I I love my Phaeton it's been faithful to us for 12 years of full timing. Also Bob Tiffin is the most honest businessmen and caring person you will ever meet there isn't too many CEOs will give you their cell phone number if you have a problem anywhere America or Canada or Mexico. Best RV for no/low maintenance. A real pleasure to own. The 2007 was the first year Tiffin Phaeton increased ceiling height to 7 ft. Lots of headroom even for a 6'4" guy like me. Don't buy a coach with any less ceiling ht. It makes all the difference in the world. I have owned several Class A 40' coaches, purchased both new and used, and this 2007 Tiffin Phaeton 40QDH is, by far, the best motorhome I have ever owned! Great to drive! I have had no maintenance problems with it, unlike my friends who have coaches by other manufacturers, and they are always having to take it in for repair of some kind. My wife & I ordered this Tiffin Phaeton from the factory in 2007. We were "newbies," and had NEVER owned a recreational RV or even a tow trailer. We are researchers, so we both spent months on the internet researching a motorhome manufacturer that built a user-friendly, low maintenance coach. Tiffin came out ahead, and especially the Phaeton! WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS GREAT COACH, and, even though new to the RVing world in 2007, this fantastic coach made us look like real pros!! It is a pleasure on the road. And, so easy to pull into a site and within 10 minutes, the (4) slides are out, area rugs in place, and we are grilling steaks & having a glass of wine. There is only one problem with this coach -- it attracts a lot of attention -- so sometimes my glass of wine gets warm while I am busy talking to folks who casually walk by and ask me how I like my Phaeton!! Oh, and by the way, if we needed any answers on the maintenance, etc., we found Tiffin has a fantastic online RV mechanic that responds to you within minutes. Couldn't ask for more -- paradise (on earth, that is)! THANKS, TIFFIN!! Show less
