We have had our Heartland Mallard M25 for 5 years now. I am going to try and recall the good and the bad of it.
At first, the travel trailer had a manual front jack. Not being familiar with the techniques to hitch and unhitch from our tow vehicle, it was a challenge at first. Changing out the manual jack to an electric one pretty much solves the problem, likely along with the wearing in between the ball and cup of the stabilizer.
In reading prior to our purchase, there were several articles that highly suggested to have two air conditioners, one for the main cabin, and the other for the bedroom. If that had been an option for this travel trailer, I would have purchased it at the time.
However, thanks to You Tube folks, I implemented a pretty good solution to better force the cold air through the plenum to the rear bedroom as we travel to a lot of desert or hot areas out of Las Vegas. There was at least a 40% improvement and the operational noise of the air conditioner is significantly quieter.
Initially, there were minor fixes needed like loose moldings and like. However, in speaking with other RV owners, most encounter these type of minor issues. Most owners know that these trailers are pretty quickly slapped together.
This trailer is most comfortable for 2 people, though we traveled for the first 4 years with our son and some of his friends (one at a time). The fold out sofa worked well for two teens.
Struts for storage under the Queen RV bed needed to installed to keep the storage lid up.
We keep the bedroom TV, blankets , pillows and two foot rests for the sofa under there.
Upkeep is keen with a travel trailer. Making sure the slide out seals are lubricated and replaced when necessary. The same applies for the outside trim rubber or vinyl pieces. They have a tendency to wear. However, they are easy to replace as well.
We have had two tire blowouts while traveling. Being twin axels, the other wheel held up for us in both cases to pull off the road at convenient spots and call AAA to change to the spare.
We pull the trailer with our 2017 Nissan Armada. This vehicle has a dynamic suspension (air shocks in the rear). There is a limitation on our towing speed as a result. We keep it around or no more than 60 MPH. There is tendency for the “tail to wag the dog”. A stiffer truck suspension I suspect would resolve the issue.
The last trip, our heater control module failed. We had a mobile RV technician come to our park space and replace it.
We keep all the outdoor gear in the outdoor storage compartment, fitted in such a way that we pull out everything we need for our outdoor seating area:
The 10x12 carpet, 2 Coleman chairs, 2 rocker chairs, the aluminum folding table, Camp Chef two burner stove ( this is a great stove), fire pit. The stove and fire pit are all fitted to accept the trailers propane quick disconnect. We have a “Y” adapter so both can be fitted at the same time.
I would say that all and all, our Mallard M25 has worked well as a travel trailer and with the last year of only my wife and I using it, better as a couple’s trailer.

Be aware!!! Don’t buy a Heartland RV!!! We bought a Mallard M260, 33’ travel trailer from Camping World in June of 2022. In August of 2023, the first time getting it ready to take out for the season, I noticed almost the entire external storage area had mold. (a couple weeks later we also noticed the windows in the popout were leaking really bad when it rained. I also noticed I could see daylight near the floor on one side of the popout.) I called Camping World to tell them about the mold issues, the service representative said, your warranty ended two months ago, that we should make an appointment for a leak test. We brought it in, they did the leak test and found that every seal around every vent and other structures on the roof except for the seal around the air conditioner had leaks. They also found leaks everywhere on the sides, front and back of our brand new trailer. It was going to cost $1,100 to clean and reseal the roof and $2,000 to clean and reseal the sides, front and back of our trailer. We were told the mfg warranty for this was 90 days. 90 days, what does that say about the confidence this mfg has in their own product? We purchased an extended warranty, but were told this warranty did not cover these issues. In my opinion, this mfg makes a shoddy product. What type of quality checks do they do before they let the product leave their site? My husband cleaned and resealed all the areas that had leaks for significantly less then the quoted price from Camping World. Quite frankly, we should not have had these issues at all if this was a well manufactured product. Food for thought, before you buy a brand new travel trailer, ask questions about the warranty on all equipment and SEALS. Know that you can do most repairs on your own and not get gouged by the service department.

Do NOT buy a Heartland. We purchased a 2020 Heartland Mallard M27 to find out just outside of our warranty that we have had water leaking in since we owned it, possible even prior to purchase. We contacted the best RV mobile repair faculty to come out and access our damage, to be told that the manufacturer never sealed the windows on our slide. After contacting Heartland we were told that it was contractual that we were responsible for sealing our own windows. Wait what?!!!! So you didn’t seal our windows so it’s somehow our fault?!!! We have been ghosted completely and are now contacting our lawyer.

My spouse and I purchased this Heartland Mallard M32 Last fall, and have had it for about 8 months and have used it several times. First of all, the floorplan is great. We have 4 children and our 3 daughters all stay in the bunkhouse while our son sleeps on the kitchenette (that turns into a sleeping area). Its a good layout for our family. The fact that we only have a 1500 truck made our options extremely limited due to the tow and hitch weight restrictions. We love the outdoor kitchen as well. There is limited space for cooking essentials, but I think that's a pretty common issue in most travel trailers.
Ok- so now to the pros and cons about this particular camper. We have had several issues with this camper- there is leaking, cracks in the seals, a window that was put in wrong, the frame of the bedroom where the slide in doors are, was not bolted in correctly. Water continues to come in to the storage areas under the dinette table, and we have no idea where the water is coming from. We have listed, in detail, all of the issues that are wrong with this camper. I would not recommend this camper unless you don't have any options. IF you do end up purchasing this camper, write a list of everything that needs repaired. You should have a 1 year warranty with this , so write up, in detail, all of the issues you have and walk through your camper with a repair associate when you drop it off for those repairs, to make sure they know exactly what you need repaired. My husband is super particular and super detailed, which worked to his advantage. Everything we asked did seem to get approved. Good luck on your journey to finding the perfect camper and I hope this review helped!

everything works as it should, we've been very happy with this model. we did buy the extended warranty just in case, but we have not needed to use it.
I only wish the furniture was better.
we did immediately replace the king mattress with a store brand, and it fit perfect. I've had several back surgeries, so having a good mattress is a huge factor for me.
the rest of the furniture is cheap, but I'm sure we'll replace it eventually, but for now it works.
we use this camper seasonally, so it gets well lived in. We camp with 3 very large dogs and we have plenty of room.
great amount of storage space in this camper.

Thor industries should be ashamed of themselves for scamming people out of money by taking a cardboard box, disguising it to make it look good quality, and then charging a ridiculous amount. I have had my heartland mallard for a little over a year and it is leaking from every window, every skylight opening, and every vent every time it rains. It has a Crack on the roof which has led to roof feeling waterlogged or like it will cave in at any moment. The ac kicks on and off repeatedly leading to high power use. I have already had to replace the faucet and shower head. All the trimming was falling off within the first month. The screen doors never were made to latch because they are too narrow for the frames. The fireplace/heater rattles when you turn it on like it will give at any moment. Let me not forget the huge piece of wooden panel above the kids bunk randomly falling off because it was held with staples (that could have hit one of my children) The awning won't stay plugged in and the tank sensors don't ever work right. To make matters worst.... the warranty isn't worth a flip. I took it for problems I was having with ac and trimming and they kept it for over about 2 months and fixed nothing outside of stapling the trimming back on.
So now as a single mom of 2, I'm having to pay a $45,000 loan on a camper that hasn't even lasted a year. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. It's all about making money at no expense. Quality doesn't exist and I'm so sick to my stomach about it.
