When I received it the 12v battery terminal nuts were run only halfway down on the studs (not even finger tight) and the water heater electric element was burned out. The frame and suspension had ten years worth of rust when it was three months old. Treated it with phosphoric acid and POR-15. There was also condensation in the running lights due to bad seals. On our first trip the cabinet doors popped open by themselves on the interstate and ended up on the floor due to the cheap catches and hinges. Upgraded the hinges and added latches. On our second trip the rear blind fell off (the heavy wood valance was held on by just 2 #6 screws put into nothing but the wallboard). Screwed them back in to the metal window frame. At some point the water pump began running continuously, pump replaced. Easily breakable refrigerator door handles. Wall outlet covers falling off. Dome light covers falling off. The awning started retracting incredibly slowly; this is a very common problem and there are a ton of complaints about it. In year two the couch broke free while driving on the interstate, and the bottoms of the rear cabinet and sink cabinets started coming apart so I had to add brackets to keep them together. The paneling around the bed box started to come off because it was held on by a few really cheap staples and no glue. The bathroom vent fan stopped working due to a bad ground. The 12v battery doesn't have much storage, on off-grid night four the heater and refrigerator stopped working (on gas) because there wasn't enough voltage (my site was ~50% shaded and the solar panel is only 100 watts). I replaced it with a couple of 6v golf cart units in series, and am planning a major upgrade to the solar capacity. In the meantime I bring a generator to boondock. The brake wiring is so short that when I jacked it up to do the brakes the wires got pulled very tight, causing a wiring fault. Now the brakes on that side don’t work and it’s been a real handful the times I’ve had to get on the brakes hard. One more thing to fix this spring. The couch is not very comfortable, but all of the aftermarket upgrades are designed for a slide that has a floor that’s at the same level as the main floor. So we’re pretty much stuck with it. We bought this pre owned tailer in 2023. It was in storage for 3 years and had minimal use, so it was a good purchase. The floor plan is perfect for couples because it has a residential sized queen bed and plenty of storage. We love the large window's in the rear dinette and the counter space is impressive for a 20' trailer. The only thing to look out for is roof leaks at each side of the rear roof corners. The best approach is to apply Eterna Bond tape because self leveling caulking will not last very long. In fact, its best to apply this tape at every roof joint for peace of mind and less maintenance. I'm a contractor and I honestly think this is a very well built trailer. If you buy a camper you have to have realistic expectations as they are subjected to extreme conditions that can lead to minor repairs and pre-mature maintenance. There are plenty of upgrades that can be done to improve overall quality. Show less

2018 Freedom express second owners on our second trip the left rear axle hanger bracket tore clean away from the frame and twisted the rear of the hanger brackets. We barely made it back home. This is obviously a design flaw an RV frame should never fail after only 8 years. Call Forest River (parent company) their reply was we don't build the frame and forwarded me to Lippert who also blew me off. Both companies refuse to be accountable for building a travel trailer with a terrible frame design. These Lippert frames are known to start cracking and start separating. Lippert and Forest River already have one frame recall in place its just a matter of time these shitty frames are also recalled let's hope it before some get killed. Come Forest River and Lippert own up you sold trailers with dangerous frames. Show less

terrible build , leak the first year I got it. shower drain broke. cabinet door fall all over electrical problem second battery from factory no more good. just got everything fix 2 months ago. and everything is falling appart again. terrible build. Show less

We love everything about this trailer (great family memories). We love the high-end kitchen and private front bedroom. This is the largest bunkhouse we've seen in a travel trailer that doesn't require a 3/4-ton truck, and the shelving and clothes cabinet is more than enough space for all our kids' stuff. Wife loves the large pantry, spacious bathroom and adult-sized shower. The slideout is nearly the length of the trailer (minus the bedrooms), making it very spacious and open. Show less

We are very happy with our RV, the quality and workmanship is superior to all other RVs we looked at before making our purchase and overall we are satisfied with the value for the price. We had a minor issue with the mattress that came with our RV and when we expressed our concern Coachmen's Warranty and Service Manager Debra O'Rourke promptly offered to send us a replacement mattress but we had already decided to purchase a premium RV mattress so she arranged to send us a cheque to cover the cost. Couldn't ask for better service thank you Forest River Corp. Show less

This Coachmen 30’ travel trailer is beautiful inside with ALL the upgrades available. It has a great outdoor kitchen, perfect for hot summer days, and has tv set up and full awning . Big comfy King bed in private bedroom w/lots of cabinets/closets, plus full storage under bed to outside hatch. XL front kitchen w/tons of cabinets and 2 pantries, perfect dinette/bed, w/storage under seats. Very comfy heat massage light recliners in front of big tv. Highly Recommend buying this camper. I did not qualify for a loan. In GA if you buy Rv from person NOT dealer you DONT Pay ANY Sales tax, Saving Thousands (7%) Show less

We thoroughly enjoyed this trailer. Our goal was to snowbird, moving every three weeks or so, so we were looking for something towable but with the size of a destination trailer. This trailer met our requirements perfectly. We lived in it for three to four months each year, and we never felt cramped. The floor plan and towability were what sold us, and we truly appreciated those features. We bought our trailer new and experienced some initial quality issues after a one-week trial camp nearby. The dealer was able to address the major problems under warranty, and we haven't had any significant issues since then. This is a good-sized, very tow-able trailer that suited our needs very well. It’s a step up from a Coleman. Very disappointing when our camper was delivered. Poor finishing touches. Kinda cheap inside after you look closer to it. Our stove never worked from first trip out. No way you can take it off grid. There is no power to it. On day two the fridge drains your battery. The heater insulation melted and the heater was full of water. Crack in the side camper wall happened after first use. Good luck trying to get customer service on the phone. There is not enough power to run the camper fridge alone by itself. We have two lithium batters and the fridge drains it. We honestly don’t think they even put insulation in the walls. I wish I can get my money back. I feel so ripped off! Show less

Very happy with this Travel Trailer. Have owned several other makes but this is by far the best. Lived out of this camper a week a month for 2 years in high altitude colorado while building a house. Experienced many cross country adventures with almost no problems over 4 years. 5 out of 5 stars on this one. Show less
