This camper has served us well. Very well built, sturdy. You truly don’t know that it’s back there while hauling. Only issue we have found is the cheap scissor jacks they put on. Do recommend buying different ones. Spend 33,000 on a camper these should be better quality. Show less

Excellent floodplain!! Tows well behind my Jeep Gladiator(diesel) . The problem with these campers is workmanship v͟e͟r͟y͟ P͟O͟O͟R͟!!! Problems I’ve encountered so far, leaking front window, black trim tape was pulling away from slide out trim, took dealer 6 weeks to make repairs!! Split hot waterline, shower leaks badly, unplugged space heater and the receptacle pulled completely out of the wall, Bathroom lavatory leaks, cupboard doors misaligned and hinges pull loose easily!! I’m a retired skilled trades person and have opted to make repairs myself. I definitely would not recommend Coachmen Apex campers or any Coachmen product line because I’m sure the build quality is probably the same!! Show less

This review is for the Coachman Apex ultralight 290Bhs. I can’t find where I can write for this particular trailer… so here it goes. Our old trailer was a right off because we had a bad hail storm. After months of searching we decided to go with the Coachman Apex Ultra light 290bhs. We bought this unit as it had all the features I wanted. When it arrived it looked beautiful but then we went inside. There were so many things missing and not put together right, from the trim falling off, to scratches on the tables to bed mattress all lumpy etc. We went out in it maybe 7 times but it has been in for repair way more then not. We paid extra for some kind of protection for the wrap on outside so it would not fade. Now the decals are coming off., I thought “well if they really did spray this protection on, surely the decals wouldn’t be chipping off” But yet it is….The bathroom cabinet over the sink was only attached on one side, the ceiling over the couch came right down. Cabinets not on properly, the couch not assembled right and the list goes on and on. I tried returning it and I couldn’t. It has been more trouble then it is worth. I am so sad I paid so much money for a total lemon. When I complained to the dealer, I was told that maybe if I would have bought something near the $100k mark maybe it would have been made better. Well I am an out of work oil and gas worker who worked hard for my money. Be very aware people. They spend a week it seems making these expensive trailers that we hope to spend time with our friends and families, to have the trailer in getting fixed and a new owner extremely upset. Show less

I was so excited when I found this camper, it appeared to check all my boxes. Then after we purchased it, we went on our first camping trip AND found things that are really quite irritating. The bedroom is so small, if you were at all overweight (even just a little) you would not fit in this room. Making the bed is impossible, we have tried a few different ways to do it AND it just does not work. We are retired and in fairly good shape but I just can't imagine when we are older trying to make the bed. When you sleep with your head to the window, rolling over you hit your head or arms on the blinds or the side of the cupboards that are surrounding the bed. There is just no room!! For the most part we are happy with the other parts of the camper, but if I would have known about the bed prior to purchasing it, it would have been a deal breaker. Show less

Love this camper! Bathroom is large with lots of storage. Big outside kitchen is fabulous. We get compliments and folks asking about our camper all the time. It looks as great on the outside as it does on the inside. We recently were traveling and at almost every gas station we stopped at, someone asked me about it. Show less

Just picked up at brand new, hot off the line Coachman 251 RBK. Superficially, it looks impressive. I find it appalling this company wants to shave corners and failed to cover exposed wood located on the wooden portion of every window covering. To be clear, there is a “box-ish” type contraption which partially conceals the blinds attached to the wall. Just by sitting on the coach, this bare wood is exposed because Coachman was just too lazy or didn’t care about producing a quality product even though the price tag was 33k for this model. I find this appalling and will be looking to buy another non-coachman product in the near future. Again, the problem could have been easily rectified by caring enough to completely wrap the item in the faux leather or by simply painting the item. Utter failure Coachman. Show less

Great quality & floor plan. Lot's of room and one of the only separate bedrooms at this weight, with multiple seating areas. I like the Azdel & rigidity of the construction. This is our first RV and we heard how many issues they can have. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Apex. Have also really enjoyed interactions with the manufacturer. Show less

We bought this Rv at the end of 2019. I really wanted the outdoor kitchen and this was the main reason I bought this one. I invited friends and started cooking and it started to rain. The spring activated door lifts up and kinda tilts back. The rain ran down and poured on to the cabinets and the electric skillet we were cooking on. We were also wet. Do you have a solution for this problem?. You can't cook in the elements. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. Also when the counter top was installed a screw head came through and actually cut my husband's hand. The dealership was notified and they are ordering a new counter. We will let you know when its installed. This is our first brand new Rv. We bought a used one and had it for 3 years and loved camping. Show less

We had owned a Jayco pop-up for 20 years followed by an Apex hybrid for 4 years, so we had many years of experience with some sort of travel trailer. We had good experiences with both, and we liked our Apex hybrid so much that, when we were in the market for a trailer that would have a bit more living and storage space and hardsides to extend the camping season, we looked at Apex again. We purchased a 215RBK, and it has been the perfect trailer for us - almost. We love the floorplan! It makes sense and it has plenty of space for just two of us with a real queen size bed with a mattress that is comfortable and takes regular bedding. The dinette converts to a full size bed when we have guests. Virtually the entire living area slides out with one deep slide, so there is plenty of floor space. The kitchen is convenient to the dinette, and the dinette table creates a large area to prep food. The bathroom is spacious with a glassed in shower, and there is plenty of storage for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom areas. We love the fact that the entertainment center separates the living area from the bedroom, and the TV swivels so it can be viewed from either area. The dinette has 2 bench seats when the table is in, but when the table is removed, the bench seats have a section that can be added to convert it to a u-shaped couch with plenty of seating. The use of space and the convenience of the layout are great. We love the fact that there is a full kitchen inside and a full kitchen outside with hot and cold water and a sink with a drain. The outside kitchen comes with a grill that slides out. We replaced that with a 3 burner stove and carry the grill, so we have both. The outside shower is convenient to rinse off feet when coming back from the beach. Overall, we are really happy with the trailer, but there have been some things we have not liked. Although the city water connection and all of the waste water drains are on the usual side of the trailer, filling the water tank is done on the other side. That means when we are filling the tank, we have to either pull in the opposite direction from most trailers or use a hose and take it around the trailer. The drain for the fresh water tank is also located behind the dual axle where it is very difficult to reach. The oven heats well, and there is both a starter and a light, however, it isn't as tall as the oven we had in our other Apex hybrid. It works well for baking, but it is not tall enough to use a deep pan for roasting. The bathroom is at the back of the unit behind the slide, and since the slide brings the dinette table and seats all the way to the counter on the other side of the trailer when traveling, there is not enough room to get to the bathroom when the slide is in. The bedroom is in front of the entry door, though, so it is always accessible. Our biggest complaint has been the quality control. Over all the trailer seems well made for the size and the price, and it has a lot of nice features for a trailer that is both light weight and relatively small. There is nothing really wrong with it. We have not experienced major problems like leaks. However, there have been a lot of little "fixes" that have been needed - all but one which were covered under the warrant so far. Every time we get a few little problems fixed, more crop up on our next trip that require us to take the trailer back to the dealership, order parts and then leave it at the dealership for repairs. It sometimes takes a couple weeks to get the parts. That has been disappointing. There have been a few issues that could have easily been solved before the trailer left the factory, and we should not have to be fixing them on a brand new trailer. Show less
