Year 1: spent almost 8 months in dealer’s shop (Broadmoor Rv, Pasco, WA because of slider failure and parts availability issues. Support from dealer was marginal; didn’t do much if anything until you bugged them. Ultimately kitchen slider was fixed, good repair job by dealer that included damage to flooring.
Year 2: slider issues and failure of bedroom unit. Contact with dealer was a waste of time, no help from Broadmoor Rv whatsoever. Went to independent rv repair shop in Pendleton, Oregon: awesome service and fixed writhing 3 weeks.
Year 3: just finished 4,000 trip, no issues, great handling, everything worked.

Larger shower than most we have seen in class C's and an instant-hot water heater. Nice warm showers right away!
Easy to drive and tow with this RV.
Large awning gives us a lot of covered outdoor space, which definitely expands our living areas!

If you like boondocking, think Harvest Hosts, one battery gets you a refrigerator battery alarm at 2am, if you stopped driving at 5pm.
Your chosise is run the Benny or turn off the refrigerator. Don’t do one of the two you wake up with a dead battery that won’t start the generator.
This is a lousy design and it’s from a company counting beans, not in the real world.

I bought the Coachman Freelander BH, class C, brand new in 2016. The first camping trip was great, after that all downhill. To say the people on the Coachman/Forrest River assembly lines gave zero sh*ts about their basic workmanship would be an understatement. My first hint is when I looked under the sink where the hot water heater was. There was wire insulation and shavings everywhere. They were too lazy to clean up after their work. This was everywhere in the RV. Since then it was discovered the shower plumbing was installed wrong at factory causing damage. We eventually had to replace the whole shower which we had to pay for. We had a massive window leak which turned out they installed incorrectly at factory. They Gerryrigged it to get it off the assembly line. It ended up giving and the massive leak happened years later in the middle of a storm. We had to pay for. Vent fan broke. Numerous window shades broke. One of two slides totally jammed up. The slide controller got wet BECAUSE ITS INSTALLED IN AN OUTSIDE STORAGE COMPARTMENT! This screw up is on the designers. Because of condensation we can’t use that compartment now. There were more issues. The Ford truck part of the RV no issues. The Frig, AC, heater, etc made by other companies no issues. All the issues started on the assembly line. Sadly it sometimes takes a few years to discover them. Coachman just doesn’t understand this is a families 2nd home. This is a massive financial investment for a middle class family. Good luck on trying to get a hold of them for anything. Very disgusted by the Coachman/Forrest River brand.

Customer service was terrible! Good luck when something breaks on the RV. Our water pump broke, tried twice to get it fixed with no success. We were without water for 4 days (had RV for 13 days total), unable to wash hands, dishes or flush the toilet (!), and had two of our children with us. We were told "you could have used a water hose"...?!, unacceptable and RUDE! That's the whole point to rent an RV, for the convenience of your trip, so you don't have to pull over to the gas station if you or your child needs to use the bathroom, or you want to cook and wash dishes. Then only got a $165 discount. Also would NOT use their insurance as it has a $1K deductible. Caught a rock from a semi and there went $400. Also, they gave us at checkout a broken coax cable and leaking water hose. I would NEVER rent from them again and will tell everyone who wants to rent an RV to stay away from El Monte RV rentals in McKinney.

It continues to serve us well, with NO problem either with the coach's appliances, electrical or water systems, or the Ford Transit engine and chassis.
I do keep ahead of ALL maintenance myself and It is covered in the winter with an ADCO RV cover. I polish it and clean the roof once a season.
This "beginners" level of motorhome has proven itself.
