Had a great experience owning a Coachmen Mirada By Forest River 350S, we owned a Forest River travel trailer prior and never had a problem with it in 11 years and then a bidding war over the condition when sold (sold for more than we paid for it). These units appear to hold up very well. Mirada 350S has all the features of the more expensive models. Look and compare yourself, we choose to save 100-150 thousand and still have full kitchen, fridge, captains chairs, theater seating, full size with private doors master bedroom and outdoor shower to name a few. We felt this was a smart purchase for us and we had zero regrets, you can comfortably live in this with a washer and dryer if you choose.

When I received it the 12v battery terminal nuts were run only halfway down on the studs (not even finger tight) and the water heater electric element was burned out. The frame and suspension had ten years worth of rust when it was three months old. Treated it with phosphoric acid and POR-15. There was also condensation in the running lights due to bad seals. On our first trip the cabinet doors popped open by themselves on the interstate and ended up on the floor due to the cheap catches and hinges. Upgraded the hinges and added latches. On our second trip the rear blind fell off (the heavy wood valance was held on by just 2 #6 screws put into nothing but the wallboard). Screwed them back in to the metal window frame. At some point the water pump began running continuously, pump replaced. Easily breakable refrigerator door handles. Wall outlet covers falling off. Dome light covers falling off. The awning started retracting incredibly slowly; this is a very common problem and there are a ton of complaints about it. In year two the couch broke free while driving on the interstate, and the bottoms of the rear cabinet and sink cabinets started coming apart so I had to add brackets to keep them together. The paneling around the bed box started to come off because it was held on by a few really cheap staples and no glue. The bathroom vent fan stopped working due to a bad ground. The 12v battery doesn't have much storage, on off-grid night four the heater and refrigerator stopped working (on gas) because there wasn't enough voltage (my site was ~50% shaded and the solar panel is only 100 watts). I replaced it with a couple of 6v golf cart units in series, and am planning a major upgrade to the solar capacity. In the meantime I bring a generator to boondock. The brake wiring is so short that when I jacked it up to do the brakes the wires got pulled very tight, causing a wiring fault. Now the brakes on that side don’t work and it’s been a real handful the times I’ve had to get on the brakes hard. One more thing to fix this spring. The couch is not very comfortable, but all of the aftermarket upgrades are designed for a slide that has a floor that’s at the same level as the main floor. So we’re pretty much stuck with it.

Being a brand new RV, we knew we’d have some issues but we never imagined the RV would spend more time in the shop than we spent on the road. We loved the floor plan with the king bed but we had issue after issue starting with the sink water coming unhooked as we slid the rv in and out, the heat shield falling off and tge styles peeling off on every cabinet, the cabinets above the seats coming off the sides and numerous engine issues. We were shocked when the warranty company, RV complete, labeled these issues as “manufacture defects” so they wouldn’t fix them. Reaching out to Coachmen we were lied to by the general manager Scott and coachmen promised to fix the loose cabinets only to tell Mike at RV complete that they would not cover them. We spent 2 years requesting repairs and finally just sold the LEMON. Would buy another Coachmen!

This is our first ever camper experience. We bought this 2022 Coachmen Legacy 283 in May 2023 brand new from A & L RV Sales in Richmond VA. We were tickled pink with it. We've never taken the thing out of the yard. Then May 2024 we lost our ac in the house. As of today, June 23rd 2024 we're living in the camper in our backyard. This is a nice sized camper to spend a weekend or maybe a week in. Sleeping in it daily and living in it daily it's not so great. Keeping up with the black tank level and the grey tank level is a chore. And holy moly it gets H O T . The AC runs constantly. Sure, we're parked where we have shade for a few hours in the morning, but between noon and dark, it's just about unlivable. We have nothing to compare to, so I don't know if other campers are more insulated or even insulated at all. But we manage. The kitchen is nice. Again, not really enough storage space for long term living, but then again, it makes you realize what's important and what's not. I'm fairly tall and it's all I can do to reach the back of the pantry. It's really deep so find you a step stool. Then find a place to store it. The kitchen table and bench seats are perfect for my skinny husband. He slides in and out just fine. My wide hips do better in the recliner. Which is very comfortable, as is the sleeper couch. That's comfy too, the couch made in a bed. Speaking of beds. We have a king size mattress in a queen sized room. My husband has a bad back and watching him crawl into bed is hard. It's worse getting up in the middle of the night to pee. ** I think the worst thing about this camper is how the bed is made. The mattress is on a piece of plywood and the plywood has UNFINISHED edges all around it. Sure, we could sand them down and round them off, but why should the customer have to do something like that ?! It looks like that was overlooked during assembly. ** The bathroom is nice. Haven't used the shower yet (we go in the house for that. Hot as hell, but better than using up all our water in the camper ). My husband says pulling the camper with our 2002 Ford F350 Super Duty is a breeze. Hooking up to the truck is easy. Overall, again having nothing to compare to, I'd say this is an okay camper. It's not perfect, but I'm sure there is not a perfect camper. I'll give this one about a B+. Happy camping everyone !! Be safe.

I had it delivered 20 miles away to an RV Park & other than the large red tail light lenses dangling off their frames on strings of silicone, because they were Never screwed in, upon arrival, I have not had any other problems, which I think is due to the fact that I have never towed it Anywhere & that I have Never used the shower, sinks, stove or holding tanks, primarily because I am convinced that if I, actually, use it for how it was intended, that I will discover just how Poorly it was really built & have Many More Problems !!!

We liked the look and style of this RV and watching how they are built on their website seemed like we were buying a quality product. We used is for 6 nights and two camping trips before the slide broke and would not go out all the way out. It jammed and dug into the floor and we spent two nights like that until we just decided to go home. There were several other problems we had with this motor home and it was nearly impossible to get in touch with someone at coachmen in customer service. I left emails and several messages and didn’t get a reply until I called every day for a few days. Among the other issues we had was the coach door was vey difficult to open, the dvd player ($30 on Amazon) didn’t work the first time we tried, ac unit was vibrating because the bolts to the roof were not tight, rubber on the roof was pealing up, sealer gaps on the roof, right window not installed correctly in its track (binding), inside trim on slide looks like it was installed with a shotgun. We took it in for service and was told they denied repairing some of the items(trim, dvd player). When we brought it in for service the vehicle had less then 3000 miles on it and was less then a year old (5 months was covered in storage and 2 at the dealership). Most of the trim and components are very cheap quality like plastic shelf paper covering fake wood trim. Low quality TV,s and audio equipment. We knew we had a Covid lemon and we tried to trade it in only to find out it’s worth $50000 less then we paid for it and neither the dealer nor manufacturer had any interest in helping us out. I would recommend avoiding this company and it’s parent company forest river.

We purchased our 2022 Aurora used so warranty and support is n/a. As for floor plan we love it we have two kids still at home and a grand baby that loves camping. We are not cramped and we all sleep very comfortably. We did upgrade our mattress due to its was used lol. Everything works as it should and have had no issues with appliances or the structure. It a camper and modern campers use cheap materials that’s just the way it is tho. The camper pull great at 65-70mph and for the purchase price it’s a very nice camper for 2-3 day getaways. Hope this help anyone interested in purchasing one.

The Freelander 22XG has a great floorplan layout. With just my wife and I, this 24 ft RV seems very very roomy. We use the over cab bunk for our suite cases and everything else that might clutter up the area. The dinette is comfortable for eating, playing games and watching TV at night. The 10 cu ft 12v refrigerator is bigger than many common place 8 cu ft units and especially the 6 cu ft units in the Class B+ units. The queen size murphy bed is almost like being at home, being the same size. During the day we keep the murphy bed up against the wall with the sheets still on the bed. It wakes the RV seem much bigger. When we drive, I keep the bed down to the non driver can rest if needed before taking their turn driving. It drives just like a pickup or full size van. At about the size of a U-Haul truck, it drives and handles much better. We have only had ours about year but are still pleased. We have even found winterizing it much easlier that expected.
