I often get asked why we chose an 18-year-old motorhome, and my answer is simple: because they don't make them like this anymore. Our 2006 Monaco Diplomat 38PST isn't just an RV; it's a testament to quality construction, incredible engineering, and the freedom of the open road—without the hassles of modern emission systems. When we purchased this coach in 2023, the odometer read an unbelievable 6,000 miles. Some called us crazy for buying a "vintage" diesel with such low miles, but we took the plunge. After a meticulous tune-up and installing Brand New Hercules Strong Guard HTL Tires, this Monaco has been absolutely flawless. We've put 7,000 miles on it in two years—from the plains of South Dakota to the peaks of Banff—and have experienced ZERO mechanical issues. That proven reliability is why I love it. The Sweet Spot: Size, Power, and Comfort The 38-foot length is pure genius. With the three slide-outs open, we have all the residential space a couple could ever need, yet it still fits comfortably into almost all State and National Park campgrounds. This gives us access to places bigger coaches can't reach. Underneath the beautiful full-body paint is the legendary power train: Pre-DEF Cummins ISL 400 HP: Power without the Diesel Exhaust Fluid hassle. This engine is a proven workhorse that laughs at mountain passes. Roadmaster Chassis & Allison 3000 MH Transmission: This is the gold standard. The Roadmaster chassis provides a smooth, stable, car-like ride, and the Allison transmission shifts effortlessly. It's a true driver's coach. Interior Upgrades that Make it Home Monaco's construction is known for its quality wood cabinetry and solid surfaces, but we customized the living space to make it perfect for us. Swapping the factory sofa for a cozy recliner loveseat turned the living area into the ultimate relaxation spot. Add in the new Queen Mattress and porcelain toilet, and you realize every essential comfort has been addressed. This motorhome has taken us on the trips of a lifetime, including a recent 3,000-mile journey through the Tetons and Yellowstone. It handled every road and elevation change with grace, keeping us comfortable the entire way. If you are looking for a reliable, turn-key, low-mileage coach from the best era of diesel pushers, our Diplomat is truly exceptional. We are sad to see it go, but excited for the next owner to create their own incredible adventures in this meticulously kept machine.

This has been a great RV for us. We have taken it on numerous trips and just loved it. It is so comfortable and roomy. My husband says the drive is fabulous and smooth. Easy to drive and easy to maintain. We have replaced the flooring with Luxury Vinyl Plank and also added some LED lighting, and a lot of electrical upgrades. It has been maintained meticulously and my husband has taken it out between trips, so it gets started and used. We have also replaced the refrigerator with a beautiful brand new black stainless french door refrigerator. Also all new batteries. This is a beautiful quality coach and well maintained. It's a Florida coach. I have some health issues and we would love to keep it, but it's time to sell. Thank you.

Monaco is a very classy and well made, durable RV. This RV has been a great RV for us to travel in. Very roomy and comfortable. Rides like a dream. The queen sleep number bed is very comfortable and master bedroom has a full mirrored closet. The air sofa bed is also very comfortable, and you also have a jacknife leather sofa. The shower is very roomy. 2 separate bath vanities make getting ready with your spouse easy. No one is bumping into one another and each has their own space. The kitchen is great with lots of storage and a nice sized pantry. The 2 flat screen tv's are 32" and the new cable box and antenna are really great. All the electrical has been updated, new led lights in many areas. New black stainless french door Samsung refrigerator and gorgeous new vinyl plank floors. The dinette is a large pullout with more room along the whole side. This is a very well maintained, durable, classy coach. The passenger seat upholstery could probably use re-upholstering, but other than that, it's pretty much updated and ready to go. Basement pull out storage too! Tires are 5 years old but look new. It's been under roof most of the time that we'd had it in the last 5 years.

It is a well built MH with features that are still in new luxury units, like diesel engine but no DEF needed. 7.5 Kw Onan genset. 100 gallons of water and large holding tanks. Heat pump, microwave convection oven, hydraulic jacks etc. It is simpler than new units. No Def, guages that are guages and not a video screen, lots of windows that open and allow natural ventilation along with window awnings over all side windows. The electronics are still simple to use and fix. Gas/electric frig and water heater making it great for dry camping. Wide hallways when pushed in and you can still cook and do anything camping in a parking lot that you can do pushed out in campground except plugging in, but with the windows open and 4 batteries or running the furnace over night you will do fine without plugging in. It is easy to update with LED lighting and HD compatible satellite domes. Meanwhile the aluminum exterior is incredible for its longevity. Woodwork is also great. It is just one of those old goodies.

It has all the big features you want, like Cummins 330 Diesel no DEF! 7.5 Onan diesel Genset, 100 gal of water, large holding tanks, gas/electric appliances. What never gets talked about is the beautiful amount of windows and the awnings that extend to shade windows for long sunlit stays south. The fresh air that comes with all the windows open is not found in the newer mhomes. Aluminum roof and great gelcoat. For the price and quality it is a bargain against newer poorer quality units.

The Monaco Diplomat has been a super good coach. Having purchased it new, the dealer was very good in taking care of very few warranty problems. Granted, the unit has had very good care and careful usage, it has given super service with little problems. An extended service plan was used a couple of times and would be handy for super major repairs such engine or transmission. Hearing many complaints about other coached, I feel lucky of just bought a well made coach.
